"I don't think we should stay that long." the starchid offered nervously.

"That's what you always say. I've been on that ship for two months, and I love you, but I need someone else to talk to before I go insane."

"Charming."

The duo, a girl and her esper, were walking down the streets of the quiet coastal town, peering in the windows like a pair of lost tourists. It was by no means the kind of community that catered to tourists, small and unobtrusive as it was, but Vela's crew was fairly small and unobtrusive as well. The larger coastal towns were better defended, hitting the small ones wasn't as profitable, but it was a whole lot safer. Vela's crew would stock their ship here and rest for a week, then they might pull off a raid in the night and leave. Business as usual, but Vela was more enthusiastic to meet some new faces. There was only so long you could talk to a certain group of people without getting bored, and by now, Vela's crew could use a week relatively apart from each other.

"You know, we could load the ship in three days if we hurry and then just rest at sea," Vayn said edgily.

"Shush and let's find some locals to chat with," Vela replied.

Skillfully and without bumping into a single soul, a Hylian postgirl weaved her way through the crowded streets.

Eili was used to towns like this. She had been to this particular one a few times before, stopping about maybe every few weeks or so. It was one of the locations on her route to deliver the mail. How long the route was exactly, most Hylians had no idea. To be perfectly honest, though? Her job took her far and wide, all over the reaches of Hyrule, which is what the girl loved about it the most. Seeing all of the sights and meeting all of the people from the different regions was a real treat.

On this particular day, the postal worker had a few packages in her bag as well as bundles and bundles of letters. These were to be delivered, of course, in a prompt and timely manner. The Hyrulian postal service prided itself on getting the mail to the people on time, rain or shine, no matter what. For the most part, however, this was a task the girl had yet to master. Eili had a habit of, well...chatting and lingering on her routes a bit too long. That day, however, she was doing surprisingly well.

"Look at you," came a soft voice inside her head, "I'm surprised, Eili. You're managing to get things in on time. At this rate, everything will be delivered by the deadline." This, of course, was none other than Hiyuu, a green-ish tsukumomo esper that floated along at her side. That little guy frequently acted as the postgirl's conscious as well as her voice of reason. He was watchful of her, careful to make sure she did what she was supposed to and didn't get into too much trouble. It came as no surprise, then, how pleased he had to be at that moment. It wasn't often she delivered things in such a fashion.

"Yeah, yeah," she replied back out loud, as was customary when she was talking to her esper. "I'm just as surprised as you are. If I keep this up, we'll be done by noon, and will actually be able to take a break." Breaks. If there was one thing in the world that Eili enjoyed, it was taking breaks in whatever city or area she was in. How else would she learn about the region?

Besides, the docks were calling her name, beckoning her to come and check it all out. A bunch of large ships were in town, and she wanted to get a closer look at them herself before venturing off to the next town for more mail delivery. Who could blame a girl for being curious?

The pirate pair continued their argument as they wound down the streets, but soon it was strangled by the simple expident of Vayn falling silent.

"Vayn." Vela said emphatically after a few moments.

"Vayn."

"Look over there," the wind esper exclaimed, forgetting their previous thread of conversation completely. Vela obliged.

"All I see is the postgirl," she commented. Vayn shook his head.

"Next to her, it's another wind esper." He was unusually enthusiastic, and Vela seized her opportunity to get her own way with things for once.

"Let's go talk to them!" she decided. For once, Vayn didn't argue, but led the way. Vela followed cheerfully, glad she had got what she wanted with less nagging from Vayn than usual. Leaning on the nearby post box, she flashed the pair of strangers a grin, saying, "'Hoy there! I can't help noticing we have something in common." Sticking out a hand without waiting for a reply, she added, "I'm Vela, and the furball is Vayn, the wind esper I'm bonded to. We just docked in town this morning. What're your names? You familiar with this place at all?" Vela liked taking the initiative in conversations, overwhelming the other person into replying. Maybe it was some form of compensation for something, but she always had to be in charge.

"She's kind of like you, this girl."

"What?"

"She talks a lot."

Eili was about to retort back to her esper's blunt statement, but she refrained. One second the two of them were walking along, almost to the next post box, and the next they were stopping with a girl directly in front of them, leaning on the box they were trying to get her. Before the postal worker could even pause to take in her surroundings, a hand was in front of her, and the girl was rambling off at a mile a minute. What - wait?

Vela? Vayne? Docking in town? It took some serious concentration for her to follow along with what the other Hylian was saying. Eventually, though, the girl's words came to an end and brought with it highly welcomed seconds of silence. At this time, the postgirl cast a dubious glance over to the tsukumomo, back to Vela, and then to her esper again.

"Okay, I'll give you that. She's kind of like me."

After saying this mentally to Hiyuu, Eili shifted a bit. The bag on her shoulder seemed to be sliding off as she stood there, so she pushed it back up on her shoulder to prevent it from doing so. Her feet shuffled a bit as well, but that was when she decided it would be a good time to reply back to Vela. Keeping people waiting when they were speaking to you was never a good thing. It often led to annoyed and disgruntled individuals, people that the mailgirl knew all too well. She couldn't help but shiver instinctively at the thought. Hopefully, this Vela girl wasn't like that. Slowly, the Hylian raised up her left hand, and extended it out to grasp the other's and give it a good shake.

There. The first step was out of the way, and now it was time for the moment of truth when she would answer all the other questions. "Yes, I'm familiar with this place," she explained with a definite nod. As she said this, glaucous eyes drifted over and fell upon the other little esper in the group. So, this was Vayn, hmm? Well, he was a wind esper, indeed. She could tell right away. Before her thoughts dawdled on too much, Eili couldn't help but snap herself back into reality with a shake of her head. "This is the village of Coral." With a motion of her head, the postal worker inclined it in the direction of the docks where the boats were tied up.

"Coral Village is famous for its coral reefs that surround the town in the waters around it. They use it to make a variety of things for crafts and what not." Eili paused then, allowing for both Vela and her esper to take in the information she had just given them. Unlike her new-found Hylian companion, the postgirl wasn't one for rambling things off one after the other. There had to be breaks in conversation - time that allowed for those listening to take everything in. When a few beats of silence went by, the mail carrier then continued on to answer the final questions.

Before she answered the questions regarding their names, however, Eili plucked out a letter from her bag. Mail in hand, she stepped closer to Vela, and then fluidly slipped into the empty space where the pirate was leaning to drop it into the slot. With her mail for this location delivered, the twenty-year-old then retracted her hand back, and easily maneuvered her way around the girl and her esper to continue on to the next post box. Hiyuu floated along behind, as always. "My name is Eili, and this," with her head, she motioned back to her esper, just as she had motioned in the direction of the docks, "is Hiyuu."

The postalgirl's esper, of course, said nothing verbally to acknowledge the two newcomers. This wasn't to be mean or rude in anyway, of course. The tsukumomo wasn't that type of esper to think himself better of others. He just preferred not to talk unless he absolutely had to; simple as that. Instead, he just gave them both a small bob of his head before turning his attention back to follow after his guardian. He had to keep Eili focused on her task: stopping to chit-chat would not be an ideal thing right now. The mail just wasn't going to deliver itself, after all!

Vela followed after the retreating postgirl, not one to be put off by a moving target. "Nice to meet you! Coral Village, huh? It's a nice kind of place to dock at, I suppose. Do you know any of the locals? Are you a local?" As she walked and talked, she kept an eye out for the scenery, trying to memorize everything she saw. "This place is a lot smaller than my hometown though. In my experience, small towns generally have worse security, even though they have less to guard. Or maybe it's because they have less to guard? Who knows?" She was getting into pirate talk now, so she stopped herself. As far as everyone on the island was concerned, she was supposed to just be a passing sailor. Their skull and crossbones was hidden in the hold, because a blatant pirate crew as small as Vela's was a dead pirate crew as far as docking out in the open on the mainland went. She would prefer not to attract attention.

At the mention of crafts, she seized the opportunity to change the subject, eyes lighting up enthusiastically. "I'll have to check that out. Maybe it could be useful for my workshop, hm, Vayn?" With an esper like Vayn, Vela had to get creative if she wanted to do any damage in a fight, and she was always keeping out for new things to try. Luckily, her father was a windmill repairman, so she had grown up more than familiar with how to build things that used wind to work, weapons included.

Vayn wasn't listening to her comments, though. Instead, he nodded back at the other wind esper and leaned in to get a closer look. On the open sea, he and Vela didn't meet many people, let alone people with espers similar to him. Vela noticed this and asked "What kind of ability does Hiyuu have? Vayn can change the direction of the wind, useful trick to have when you're a sailor."

She was a persistent one, this Vela. Eili couldn't help but chuckle as the other Hylian followed along. Hiyuu was right: she did talk a lot, nor did she give up after the postgirl moved to continue on her route. Although she didn't say it outloud, she liked that quality in a person. It showed that the pirate was really determined to talk to her, dedicated when it came to getting to know things and trying to make new friends. An admirable quality, to be sure, though some would probably take it to be just downright annoying. Luckily for Vela, though, Eili wasn't one of those people to take it that way.

"I'm familiar with a few locals," she explained, handing a package to the town butcher who was chatting in the doorway of his shop with a customer. Not wanting to interupt his conversation, she just gave him a nod of her head after handing it to him, and kept on walking. The burly man was among one of those few she spoke of. The butcher shop was located at the end of the street, so once she reached it, the postal carrier paused and added, "And no, I'm not a local. I live in Hyrule Castle Town."

Not wanting to divulge out anymore of her personal history, Eili grew quiet after that. It wasn't that she was a private person. She just didn't feel like rambling on about herself. It seemed selfish. Besides, her background wasn't really important. With the butcher's mail delivered, that made everything that they had to get mailed today. Their work was done in Coral Village, and now they could relax. In order to do so, the postgirl then proceeded to make her way toward the docks. The beach was calling her name and Hiyuu's, too.

"She's a nosey one," the tsukumomo esper commented as he floated along side his guardian. As he said this, he cast his eyes over toward Vayn, only to give his companion another nod of his head in recognition. "Hey, now. Be nice." Hiyuu rolled upside down when his guardian replied back to him, staying afloat in the air by holding on to his little orb. "I'm not saying it to be mean - I'm just being honest." After taking a few steps toward the direction of the beach, Eili slowed down. Oh, that was right! Vela was still following her, and she didn't want to leave the other behind. Plus, she still had questions, so there was still more to talk about.

"Hiyuu's ability is quite interesting," she informed the pirate with a proud smile. Interesting was an understatement. It was quite an awesome power the little esper had, and she was very proud of him for it. "Though, I'm not going to tell you what it is. You'll see it later, I'm sure." A giggle followed this, not from Eili, but from her esper instead. His guardian could only mean one thing when she said something like this: she was going to surprise the pirate by showing her at the least expected moment.

"Hiyuuuuu~"

Vela nodded to the butcher as they passed, making a note of it in her mind. "Not a local? Pity. Is Hyrule Castle Town far from here?" Vela had heard of it, but she had never been too far into the mainland. On the mainland, Vayn's powers were only half as useful, and her getaways weren't nearly as quick. "What's it like?" Obviously it had a castle, so it couldn't be that shabby.

She headed towards the docks with Eili and seemed to be more in her element around the ships. Whereas before she looked a little bit like a lost tourist, now Vela was grinning like she owned the place, and her stride was confident. She stopped in front of her ship for a moment to check on it before following Eili again.

"Is it now?" Vela asked. "I'll just have to see if I can guess what it is before then." She shot Vayn a look, the idea of a surprise attack of some sort wasn't too comforting to her. Vayn looked nervous too, despite the fact that he had been, and still was excited to see another wind esper. Vayn's powers were a little weak for retaliation on land, and Vela didn't have her weapons with her. Still, Eili was a postgirl. How much danger could they be in?

Vela remembered her run in with an angry Rito and winced. Possibly more danger than she bargained for. She would just have to keep her guard up and not let Vayn get too distracted by the other wind esper.

"Have you ever been out to sea?" she asked as they walked. "I don't see many postmen like you around, but I spend most of my time out in Rito territory, we get our deliveries from them."
