The Tales of Team Flare Halloween

It's Halloween night in Konoha and everyone is dressed up. There's sugar high kids running about every where wrapped in colorful or spooky costumes. There was even a hay ride going through the larger area of forest near the edge of the village. Konoha was in total Halloween swing.
Zelda loved the smell of fall where everything smelled so cool, crisp and pumpkin. Plus orange and black being two of her favorite colors didn't hurt either. Plus this would be the first Halloween gathering she had been to in a while. She was pumped.
The hay ride was getting ready to leave as the night was just darkening. Zelda waited with Isai and Hina for Flare sensei then their other friends. Zelda was dressed in a green dress with jagged edges at the bottom of the dress and brown leggings. On her back was a brown tube like carrying case for her bow and some fake arrows. Of course she could have put real ones in, but she didn't want anyone to get hurt with them. Besides tonight was just for fun, no ninja work.
Hina Lee, Zelda's best friend an teammate, was wearing the cutest Ladybug Costume she had ever seen. The red totally suited Hina. Plus her little antenna looked oh so cute.
Isai was a cowboy, but not your typical, traditional cowboy. Sure he had the hat and western style clothing but he also had clip on cow ears and a cow tail. He looked cute as well.
Of course they were waiting on Flare sensei as usual. Suddenly a teenage male in a traditional ninja outfit walked up to them and waved. "Hiya." He had his face covered and his hair pulled inside a ninja mask.
"Who?" Hina started to ask.
"I know those eyes," Zelda smirked. "Hiya, Flare sensei." She smiled.
He grabbed the top of the ninja mask and pulled, his dark blue hair looked like it fell out of the hat and onto his head. "Pah!" He licked his lips a little and made a face as if he had eaten something disgusting. "It's hot in that mask." He began laughing right after and his students laughed with him.
"Sensei, why are you dressed as a ninja?" Isai asked trying not to laugh.
"You're already a ninja!" Hina burst into laughter with Zelda and Isai following.
"I know." He began putting the mask in the back of his sash then he turned to face us again and grinned. "That's why it's perfect!" They all laughed together again.
Soon Zelda's brother, Misto, walked up in the most obvious costume ever. He had a squished top hat under his arm and as he approached he took it in hand then with a flick of his wrist it popped out.
"You would," Zelda crossed her arms, cocked her eyebrows, and said.
"What?" He asked grinning and pretending to oblivious.
"You would be a magician just so you can show off more." Zelda shook her head and Hina giggled. "Like you need it," she said under her breath.
"Nice costume, Misto," the green haired boy laughed.
"Thanks, Isai," Misto nodded graciously. "He gets it." He put his top hat on his head making his black and white ears stick out of the sides. Besides the black hat with the red stripe around the top, he wore a long sleeved white button up shirt, shiny button up black vest, black slacks, shined formal shoes, and a small cape with gray on the inside and black on the outside.
"Vas ist, d-Oh boy, man," Kurt shook his head. "You're too predictable." He had a burgundy scarf around his head, a V-neck puffy white shirt, with a faded brown vest over it with tight black pants and high brown boots, even a rapier in his belt.
"Well look at you?" Misto said smirking and laughing as the German boy joined in.
"Aww, Kurt's a pirate!" Hina exclaimed.
"Ja!" He grinned excitedly. "I mean, avast! Arrgh!" They laughed at him and his grin extended.
Soon Jemima shyly walked up in a lavender short Kimono with a folding fan in hand.
"Aww, Jem you look so cute!" Zelda exclaimed.
She blushed and looked to side with an embarrassed expression. Zelda could tell she felt awkward showing off her legs like this Kimono did, even though she had nude leggings on which was kind of odd since in their full cat forms both Zelda and Jemima, even Misto, ware no clothing. But as Jemima is learning things are different in the human world.
"You do Jemima," Hina said happily trying to reassure her. Finally the pink haired girl had got the cat girl to smile brightly.
"I didn't miss the ride did I?" said a soft familiar voice. The teens turned to see Kimpa looking even more handsome than usual. He wore a white wrap around shirt with white pants and a sword at his waist.
"Ooh, what are you Kimpa?" Hina asked excitedly, her fists shaking with intrigue.
"Prince Charming, Misto gave me the idea since I had no idea of what to go as." Kimpa grinned nervously as Misto began whistling innocently. Zelda gave him a look but decided to deal with him later. Hina and Jemima gigged as Isai and Flare laughed.
After this the other ninja that Team Flare knew just came out of the woodwork almost all at once on cue.
Toyotake and his teammates Kai and Kempo walked up first. Toyo was dressed as the Summer Faerie King. His outfit was green with brown leaves.
"Hi guys, fancy meeting you here," he said being a little humorous.
"Haha, Toyo," Zelda said mockingly. They, as well as the others, knew very well that Zelda had asked Toyo to join them for the hay ride and to bring his teammates.
"Who are you dressed as Kai?" Hina asked smiling with her big brown eyes.
"Katara from Avatar the Last Airbender," Kai said simply and adjusting her braid, putting it in front of her.
"Her look didn't change much," Zelda said sort of quietly and scratching the side of her face.
"Actually," Kai began. Zelda was shocked for a moment, she hadn't expected Kai to hear her. "Katara's braid has more bumps my usual one only has four."
"Oh really? Ha, ha, ha." Zelda laughed nervously then cleared her throat. "What are you dressed as Kempo-kun?" Zelda bent down to look at him and smiled brightly.
"I'm Son Goku from Saiyuki," he said laughing boyishly. He then remembered himself and slammed the end of his staff down and made a serious face.
"You would dress up as something dumb, catgirl," an annoyed voice said. The group turned to look at Zelda's rival in costume as well.
"Oh yeah?" Zelda challenged. "Who are you?" She cocked her eyebrows as if his costume was nothing.
"I'm the totally bad a** Demon Eyes Kyo," Kitsunari said twirling his katana around before swinging it around to prop it on his shoulders behind his head. He wore a black kimono with white trim and ripped edges, on the back was a yin-yang sign. Next to him Murasaki was dressed as a gypsy complete with tambourine.
"I'm Esmeralda from the Hunchback of Notre Dame," she said happily. "The Disney version." She then giggled. She had the white shirt that cut off at the shoulders and the little bit of the V-cut to it. Plus the purple skirt and hip scarf. She looked very beautiful and fit the part well. Next to her was someone Zelda didn't recognize at first, but as soon as the catgirl did so did her pink friend.
"Toushio?!" she exclaimed rushing over to him. Her antenna bounced as she arrived in front of him. "Are you a bee?" She got close to his face in her excitement. His face turned pink even in the moonlight.
"Yes," he said in a monotone voice trying to resist the pink kunochi's cuteness. He was wearing a yellow T-shirt with black lines marked on it and see through wings on his back. His yellow antenna bounced as he looked away with an embarrassed look.
"That's perfect!" Hina exclaimed. He was drawn to look at her again and he couldn't resist no matter how much he wanted to. "I'm a lady bug."
"I see," he said showing off his famous smirk.
"Hey, Shou, who are you supposed to be?" Isai said greeting the red head as he Shinobu and Toku walked over.
"I'm a hero!" He put his hands on his hips and swung his head in the air dramatically. But the others answered with silence. He realized a minute later and looked let down. "I'm Hercules from the Disney movie."
"Ohhhhh." Most of the group collectively replied. He nodded in response with a 'guess it can't be helped' look.
"What are you Shinobu?" Flare asked the usually sunglass clad girl.
"I'm Videl from Dragon Ball Z, with the short hair," she said going through hers clearly in one of her more upbeat moods. "I've got the length for it." She laughed dryly.
"And I am-!" Toku shouted stealing the spotlight. He struck a pose then waited. No one made a sound until he cleared his throat to Shinobu.
"Prepare for trouble," she continued in her dry tone.
"Make it double," he said holding a rose close to his face.
"To protect the world from devastation."
"To unite all people within our nation."
"To denounce the evils of truth and love."
"To extend our reach to the stars above!" Shinobu was acting dryly while Toku was being over dramatic.
"Jessie."
"James," he said extending the rose towards the group.
"Team Rocket blast off at the speed of light."
"Surrender now or prepare to fight, fight, fight!" He grinned.
"Meowth, that's right," Shou sighed, tilted his head, and said.
"That was dragged out," Murasaki said leaning on Kitsunari who looked like he was asleep. She looked at her nails in a bored manner. Kurt was sitting on the ground with his head back and was snoring. Misto leaned on the hay trailer his eyes closed. Zelda, Hina, and Jemima looked like they were gossiping and even Toyo looked like he was faking interest.
"Shinobu! Your acting put them to sleep!" Toku said throwing his rose to the ground.
"You said not to out do you," Shinobu objected quietly but was soon outspoken by Toushio.
"Hey! Don't throw that rose," Toushio said with an angry look when the yellow eyed boy realized everyone was giving him odd looks he simply picked the rose up and brushed it off. "It was just your bad acting." Toushio gave his smirk attempting to cover up his reaction moments ago.
Toku looked deeply disappointed but kept his mouth shut for once.
"Tabby!" Zelda and Hina exclaimed with their arms in the air.
"Hi!" She said happily as she walked up with Kuromaru. Tabby was dressed as an Elven archer with her very own bow. Her outfit was a light green short coat with a dark brown under coat and a matching light green skirt over brown tight pants. She even had cute Elven ears that were longer than Kurt's and a white headband on her head.
"Who are you dressed as Kuromaru?" Flare sensei asked.
"I'm dressed as Ashitaka from Princess Monoke," he said nodding slightly. He left his hair down and it fell in black locks around his face.
"Toyo!" Chouko exclaimed as she ran up to him. "Your Summer Faye costume is great!"
"Hi Chouko-chan, you make a great butterfly," he said and smiled to her.
She giggled and blushed happily.
"It's true!" Zelda agreed as Kurt smiled.
"Sorry, sorry," came an out of breath voice. "Sorry..." Takao finally entered the circle of friends and put his head down to catch his breath. "Whew." He wiped his brow.
"Takao-san!" Zelda exclaimed and ran over to him jumping up to hug his tall neck. "You came!" she cheered.
"Of course!" He nodded and grinned.
"What is your costume Takao-san?" Hina said walking over to him too.
"I am Tamaki Suoh," he said striking a very "Tamaki" pose.
"From Ouran High School Host Club!" the two girls cheered.
"Geez, who invited him?" Kitsunari asked in an annoyed tone.
"Who do you think?" Isai laughed.
"Catgirl," Kitsunari groaned.
"Zelda-tamaaaa!!" a young cute voice called as Momo-Iro ran up in a cat girl costume. Her out was a furry pink with black ears and a pink and black striped tail. "Nya! I'm a cat girl like you!" She said in the lucky cat pose.
"You look so cute!" Zelda smiled.
"I knew it! Did I not tell you Lee-kun? That my eternal rival would come?" Momo-Iro hide behind Zelda as Hina's litt-younger sister, Ami, and their cousin, Lee, walked up. Ami was dressed as a pretty pink princess and Lee as a knight in armor.
"Ami!" Hina said. "Don't cause trouble tonight, you can get along for one night!"
"B-b-buuuttt..." Ami began whining.
"No!" Hina said hitting her little sister on the head.
"Owie! Lee-kun!" Ami pointed to Hina and cried. If Zelda hadn't known better she would have though they could have passed for a very, very young mother and father and their child.
"Hina-chan is right Ami-can. You can get along with her for just tonight," Lee said agreeing with the older sister.
"Alright," Ami pouted and crossed her arms.
"Am I too late?" Spark said running up to the group. "Aww man!" He looked down. "I knew it you guys left and came back already!"
"Teehee, its okay Sparkles, we didn't go yet," Hina giggled sweetly and said.
He blushed a little and looked relieved. He was wearing a sleeveless kimono that had gray trim with hakama pants and a fake katana at his side. His arms showed and they were more muscular looking than Zelda remembered.
She slid over to Spark's side and said mockingly, "Watch out with those guns, tiger." She then grinned and she and her German friend laughed.
"Sh-shut up," he said pulling away from her. He turned his face and looked a bit angry, but Zelda knew he would get over it. He should be used to her torment by now.
"Hey, mommy, what sounds does a panda make?" Little Mystia asked holding her mom's hand as they walked up in costume. Mystia was in a hooded panda costume and she looked totally adorable.
"Um, I'm not sure pandas make a sound, dear," her mother, Razzy said. "I guess munch, munch because they eat a lot."
Mystia giggled insanely then ran over to Zelda and hugged her legs. "Heehee! Auntie Zelda! I'm a panda, munch, munch, munch!" Zelda couldn't resist, she bent down and hugged her niece.
"You look so cute Mystia!" her proud aunt exclaimed.
"Yes, about time!" Misto said excitedly walking over to his mate and child.
"Misto-san is a daddy." Murasaki looked horribly confused along with most of the others. So far only Hina, Isai, Flare, Kimpa, Jemima, Kimpa, Kurt, and of course Zelda knew about Misto's child. *(In this story Mystia is eight much like Ami, but she acts much younger. I know that she should only be at most three especially since Misto had her when he was thirteen and is now sixteen, but there is a reason for this that will be explained later.)*
"Razz-ama-tazz, you look amazing," Misto said cuddling up to his mate. She was dressed in a somewhat revealing Greek goddess outfit which Zelda knew Misto loved.
"Hello, Misto, dear," she said petting his head as he pressed his forehead against hers. "Sorry I took so long, these people kept trying to give Mystia all this candy." Misto's mate was utterly confused.
"They're supposed to, Razzy. It's tradition that people give candy to little kids on Halloween," Misto explained.
"But I thought you're not supposed to take candy from strangers?" Razzy asked.
Zelda, Hina, Isai, Flare, Misto, Kurt, Shou, and Toku couldn't help but laugh but it's true that people say both things.
"Well, you kids ready to go?" the driver of the tractor asked.
"Not quite," said a new voice one that the group hadn't heard in a while. Ami, Mystia, Jemima, and Razzy didn't recognize him and rightfully Misto shouldn't have either, however Misto knew who he was through Zelda memories. *(As very close mystical twins they sometimes share memories.)*
"You!" Zelda shouted and ran up to him. "You shouldn't be here, Kabuto."
"Why not?" he asked pulling down his surgeon's mask. He was dressed in medical scrubs as well. "Everyone's in costume tonight, no one will know," he said quietly and patted Zelda's cheek. She growled quietly and attempted to hide her anger. Above all nights she did not want to be angry tonight.
"This is everyone sir," she said to the tractor driver.
"Alright, everyone in!" he said hopping back up on the tractor.
Toyo and Kimpa pulled the gate down on the trailer and everyone hopped in the trailer and sat in the soft yet prickly hay.
The trailer lurched then pulled slowly behind the tractor as it started down the path through the trees. Cutouts of ghosts and ghouls popped out every once and again with creepy sounds coming from sound boxes attached to the trees. Only Mystia and Momo-Iro got scared for the most part and sometimes Ami and Chouko would jump. Otherwise it was just a fun ride and the group talked with each other casually. Originally Zelda was sitting next to Kabuto at the front of the trailer and she and Hina had been talking about random things.
"This is boring," Kitsunari groaned and put his hands behind his head and leaned with his head slightly out of the trailer box.
"Oh come on fox boy, this is fun!" Zelda said in a really good mood. "Besides it only happens once a year."
"Exactly," Murasaki agreed nodding. "You don't like dressing up?" She shook her body a little making her hip scarf jingle. He blushed a bit but didn't sway from his opinion.
"I hate to admit it but I agree. This is lacking a bit," Kabuto said looking up as a green witch popped out from a tree.
"Then maybe you shouldn't be here," Zelda said looking at Kabuto angrily then got up to go sit between Hina and Takao.
Murasaki looked at Zelda sadly as she went then whispered to Kabuto, "You really shouldn't be here, Kabuto-san."
Kabuto smirked underneath his mask but Murasaki's look didn't sway.
Just as Zelda was getting ready to sit the trailer hit a bump and Zelda flew over the back of the rail. Both Takao and Hina reached back to try and catch her but it was too late gravity had her in its grip and pulled her down fast. Even her cat abilities didn't have enough time to kick in and make her land on her feet. She landed on her back in the ground.
"Stop, mister!" Murasaki tapped the driver and the tractor putted to a stop.
Kurt and Kimpa unlatched the back gate and most of the group jumped out of the cart to check on Zelda, though some stayed standing in the trailer trying to see if she was okay. Soon Hina, Misto, Isai, Flare sensei, Toyo, Kimpa, and Kurt were by Zelda's side. Then Kabuto jumped down calmly.
"Are you okay, Zel?" Hina asked in a worried tone.
"How do you feel?" Isai asked in concern.
Zelda tried to sit up and groaned in pain. "Y-yeah, my back hurts really bad though," she said in an out of breath voice.
Kimpa rested his hand on her back gently.
"That fall must have knocked the wind out of you," Flare sensei said as Zelda nodded and willed herself up. She sat leaning up against the tree behind her.
Kabuto moved in to use his healing jutsu on her back but she smacked her hand away. "Not you." She looked angry and serious.
"Kempo," Toyo looked at the cart and little Kempo soon jumped out.
"I'll see what I can do," he said and nodded. Hina moved so Kempo could move in. He did the healing jutsu hand signs then he hands began glowing green. He put his hands on Zelda's back and soon she felt the warm relief of her back healing.
"Thank you Kempo-kun," Zelda said in a monotone voice rotating her arm as she stood. He nodded and hopped back in the cart. The rest of Team Flare looked relieved. Toyo jumped back in the cart to sit next to Chouko and Kai again and Misto followed. As he sat Mystia plopped in his lap.
"Princess," Kimpa said sweeping Zelda off her feet. "I'll help you in the trailer."
"Thank you Kimpa-kun," Zelda nodded. Unfortunately the trailer was too far for Kimpa to simply just step up with Zelda in his arms. Kurt turned after he got in the cart and leaned out slightly with his arms stretched out.
"I'll take her Kimpa," Kurt said calmly.
"Ok." Kimpa nodded and handed Zelda over to the German boy who took her carefully. Zelda had no worries at all she felt completely safe in her friends' arms. He put her back down next to Hina and Takao.
"Are okay cat lady?" Ami asked leaning out past Lee and looking concerned.
"Yeah, just fine," Zelda said with a small calm smile. Once everyone got in the trailer it continued down the path.
As they passed by an apple tree Zelda leaned up and grabbed a shiny deep red apple. She brushed it off a bit then took a bit.
"Mmm," she said taking in it juicy sweetness. "Here Takao, take a bite."
He turned it to a different side and took a small bite. "Mm, it's good," he said chewing then swallowing.
"Want some Hina?" Zelda said handing it over.
"Sure!" She took an eager bite. "Ooh that is so good!" She smiled happily and handed it back to Zelda.
"Kimpa-kun?" Zelda offered.
"No thanks princess," he said politely and shook his head with gray eyes gleaming.
"Momo-Iro-chan?"
"Mmmm~" Momo-Iro hummed as she chewed in a cute manner.
"Kurt?" She handed it to the German boy who took a big bite next to hers.
"Ja, das is gut!" He said yellow eyes lighting up.
"Misto?"
"Nah," he said with a crocked expression. Kurt turned to hand it to Isai but as he did Kitsunari took it and shoved the greater part of that apple in his mouth eating almost all of it except the core.
"Fox boy!" Zelda shouted.
"Kit!" Murasaki punched him in the stomach as he threw the core out of the cart.
"That was a good apple," he said chewing what was left of the apple
"What if someone else wanted some of that apple?" Murasaki asked angrily. Her teammate shrugged but still didn't care.
Then at the same time Zelda and Kuromaru brought their hands up with more apples. Zelda had on in each hand while Kuromaru had four apples in his hands.
"Oh so you had the same idea too Kuromaru-san?" Zelda smirked then laughed.
Zelda tossed her two apples to Hina. She missed catching the one and both Toushio and Lee put their hands on it.
"I will share the apple with Hina-chan," Lee said pulling it his way.
"No, I shall share with Hina-chan," Toushio argued. They both went back and forth arguing for a little over who would share with the pink haired kunochi. When Hina had enough she took the apple from both of them and said,
"No, I will share with Toushio and Lee-kun can share with Ami." Lee growled a little then broke the apple in almost half and gave the other piece to Ami. "Only because Ami wouldn't want to share with Toushio." Hina giggled.
Kuromaru handed one apple to Shou then another to Toyo. He offered one to Kempo but he waved it away. He then tossed the last to Misto who finally agreed and spilt it up for his family. Mystia ate her piece happily.
Shou offered his apple to Kai who smiled a little and took it thankfully.
"Thank you," she said as he smiled and blushed slightly. She then broke the apple in half as best as she could and gave him the other half.
Kuromaru split his with Shinobu who was sitting next to him.
"Do you want some Chouko-chan?" Toyo asked smiling brightly.
"Sure!" she said smiling sweetly. He focused his chakra into the apple then pull on it and it split perfectly down the middle.
Hina broke her apple into three almost even pieces and gave one to Toushio then tapped Spark who looked like he had been sleeping but then looked at her.
"Here Sparkles," she said sweetly as he blushed and took it.
"T-thanks," he said blushing bright red.
Kitsunari stood as everyone ate then threw himself in the middle of the trailer. Soon after he did a grim reaper with his scythe popped down above him making the boy jump in shock.
"Geez!" he shouted having a mini heart attack then scrambling to take his place back with Murasaki.
"That's why you don't sit in the middle fox boy," Zelda said smirking.
"He got what he deserved," Murasaki said angrily.
When the ride was finally over Zelda felt much better. The ninjas and cats jumped out of the cart with some thanking the tractor driver who looked grateful.
Soon the group was greeted by three people most did not want to see. Manami and Shin walked up in expensive looking costumes. Manami held a masquerade mask in front of her face and was dressed in a poofy white dress. Shin was dressed in a white outfit to match and Sayuri was in a stupid flower costume clearly not in the same league as the other two. *(Think of Rina's costume from a year or so ago.)*
"So you enjoyed that stupid cheap ride?" Manami asked fanning herself after she lowered her mask.
"Yeah, actually, we did," Tabby said with an angry look.
"Hah! Well while you do poor people things we are on our way to a high class Halloween party being held by my father," she said primly.
"What are you supposed to be?" Zelda asked crossing her arms.
"I am a masquerade princess and Shin is my prince," she answered proudly.
"I'm sure he is," Zelda said under her breath as Hina nodded in agreement.
"Well, we're off can't be wasting our time here with you freaks," she said walking away with the others following.
"Have fun, Zelda!" Shin said smugly walking away.
"Shin!" Tabby shouted and tried to go after him but Kuromaru held her back.
"He's not worth it, Tabby," Kuromaru said calmly though inside he was angry at Shin as well.
"We've got to do something!" Hina said angrily.
"But what?" Chouko asked. Zelda was surprised that Chouko was joining in.
"They've got to pay," Kurt said with his fist clenched Zelda knew Kurt would jump at any chance to bother Shin.
They all stood thinking for a bit then Zelda's eyes light up.
"I've got it!" She grinned. "Who makes the best fireworks that I know?"
Isai, Kurt, and Flare sensei grinned instantly knowing who. Hina looked pumped. Misto sighed then told Razzy to take Mystia home. The others then found the Halloween Ball building and crowded around it's windows. Kabuto waved goodbye also then poofed away.
"Ready?" Zelda whispered to Misto and Hina who were at the window with her. Flare, Isai, and Kurt were at the next window. Jemima, Kimpa, Tabby, and Shinobu at the next and Kuromaru, Shou, Kai, and Kempo next, and Toyo, Chouko and Spark at the final. Lee and Ami weren't interested and went to wait for Hina at home, Toku also left.
Zelda held up three fingers then counted down until Misto would send small explosions into the room.
Bright colors flashed and popped in the room and everyone spun around screaming. Manami and Sayuri were filled with dread and Shin tried to see where the flashed were coming from but the flashes were too bright and he soon gave up. The ninjas and cats outside roared with laughter then when the madness subsided. They said their goodbyes after a few high fives and congrats to Misto the friends went home to their houses. Zelda had walked with Hina to her house and Jemima went back by herself. So when Zelda left Hina's she was alone and saw someone standing behind her house waiting for her.
"So you came back?" she said to him with a crooked expression. Even she couldn't tell if she was happy or not. He simply smirked, pulled her close then pulled his mask off, and kissed her under the bright moonlight.
