An anonymous source from within the Patriots organization spoke out today saying that the Patriots are in talks with Minnesota to trade Randy Moss back to the Vikings.

Moss went on record earlier this season stating that he believes this will be his last season with the patriots. If this source is correct, then we can see Randy Moss come full circle and come back to the team he was drafted by back in 1998.

Brett Favre has been struggling to say the least since coming back to the NFL this year. A star addition to Wide Receiver like Moss can not only help out Favre, but also add fire power and a safety net to help whoever will eventually replace Favre when he retires.

We have plenty of receivers that can come in for Moss, but nobody can take his place. He hasn't been to productive this season, and I don't see what going to Minny will do for them or him. They'll just double cover him too, or he'll just not try 100% like he has been. I mean, his blocks were worthless last night, we could have just let Mesko come in and block for him for crying out loud. He's dropped a lot of passes so far too. He should of had the one TD on the fake spike last night, but ended up dropping it.

I like Moss and everything but if hes not going to give it his all, even if he is old, then I just don't think he needs to stay here.
Still love ya though Moss.

Overall, even when Moss was at his best, the #1 receiver on the Patriots has and will continue to be Wes Welker. What an amazing job he has done. Even if the Patriots get rid of Moss, keeping Welker around will be the most important thing. Of course if they get rid of Moss and Welker goes down with another injury, then the Patriots will be in trouble.

Best thing about this trade, October 31st, mark it on your calendar, the Minnesota Vikings will play the Patriots in New England! Going to be a more dramatic build up for this game as Moss will return to Foxboro in three weeks time to take on the Patriots team he has been playing with so far.

Will Wes Welker be as effective? He and Moss have been ideal complements in the passing attack for the past three-plus years, though Moss often drew the opposing defense's top cornerback. Will opponents adhere to that strategy, or will Welker, who has averaged 7.4 receptions per game during his Patriots career, be up against Darrelle Revis and Vontae Davis more frequently in the future?

And I presume that Tate will be taking Moss's spot?

The Patriots now have 2 picks in each of the first 3 rounds of the 2011 NFL Draft. The Patriots have been competitive for years and know how to run their franchise. Moss has voiced his opinion on how he wanted to leave. He's a free agent as of next year, so he wouldn't have even been in New England after this season.

...Moss can still play at a high level, but this may have been the better business decision by Belichick.
