"Brother! Over there! I see the perfect spot!" Mhairi called out, pointing to a stretch of beach over Dorian's shoulder. Both siren children wore total opposite swimsuits in both color and style. Dorian's was a deep blue while his sister's... well... it was pink and blue and frilly and about as obnoxious as could be. Or so Dorian thought as he carried his sister down to the specified beach location.
"Ey, Mhairi, you got some legs, why dontcha walk? Give yah bro a break," Kai suggested, receiving a relieved look from the boy as Mhairi dropped down and bounced off. "Of course daddy~ Whatever you say," she called out in a sing-song voice. With a heavy sigh, Dorian set out the towels and umbrella only to watch Mhairi skip by and into the crystal blue waters. He made no move to follow her, despite the longing look in his eyes.

With a loud, excited call of "WHEEEEEEEEE!" a vaguely blue, peach and black torpedo barreled toward the water from about sixty feet straight up. There was no warning, and no cliffs nearby to jump from. The blue was just... not there, and then there. Just a few feet before impact, it slowed down enough for the form of a small girl to be seen just before she made impact with the water, causing a terrific splash in her vicinity.
From up the beach came a woman with long black hair, running as fast as she could in flip-flops in the general direction of the beach, glasses perched on her nose and holding a sunhat to her head with one hand. "Wei! No - don't! Get back here!"

Kai turned curiously as a voice called out presumably after the girl that plunged into the water out of nowhere. "Hm? Was that your daughter?" he asked, a Jamaican accent punctuating his words. It was held back a bit, not quite as thick as it usually was thankfully. His accent often obscured words, making it rather difficult to understand what he was saying.
"I will go find her father! Brother, dear, come!" Mhairi called out, dragging her unwilling half-twin into the water and vanishing under the surface.
"Dorian! Stop that this instant or there will be trouble for you back home," she hissed upon getting out of earshot of Kai, the darkest look coming onto her face as she gazed at him. Dorian instantly stop fidgeting and allowed her to lead him to where she SUSPECTED the girl to have entered the water at. Once again, as they had entered the water their legs melded together into a shark-like tail much like how they had so many times before.

"Yes," Lynda said, sighing heavily. "That was my daughter. I should have known better than to bring her to the beach, but silly me, I thought she'd enter the water in a reasonable fashion," she said, her own words lightly tinted with an accent that wasn't easily identifiable but didn't disturb the clarity of her words at all. Sighing, she set about unpacking her beach gear in a spot relatively close to the other parent, and sighed. "I just... get afraid that she won't come out of the water this time; silly thing for a parent of a mermaid to think, hm?"
Meanwhile, under the water, Wei was playing tag with some colorful fish that she'd found, her frilly red bikini top contrasting with her blue, winged tail and making her look like a rather odd fish herself. "Come back, fishies! Come back!" she chirped, not aware that you shouldn't be able to talk under water - after all, she could, so why couldn't everyone? "Fishies fishies fishies~!"

Kai grinned a bit at the woman’s words. “Ahahaha. I know th’ feeling madame. M’kids are part siren an’ like a mermaid an’ when I go fishin’ I worry dey might try to slip off. Waters out dere aren’t alwa’s safe. Bu’ don’ worry, I’ve made sure nothing bu’ those colorful fish tou’ists like are dere,” he replied, trying to reassure her. “Ain’t nothin’ bad ‘round here,” he added, looking out over the peaceful waves. Yeah, nothing big like sharks or whales or even jellyfish dared come close. It was always those small decorative fish that came within swimming distance, if even that.
Mhairi darted over to the girl swimming around, flashing Wei one of her award-wining smiles. “Hi!” she greeted cheerily, voice sounding a little eerie under the water in comparison. Almost ghostly and unearthly, one would say. As Dorian swam up, although slightly less cheerfully, he gave a girl a nod in greeting but said nothing as usual while around Mhairi. “I’m Mhairi, this is my brother Dorian,” Mhairi greeted, glancing at the boy for a moment before turning back to the strange new girl.
