Nabibi's & Shiane's Travels.

It wasn’t until a little past dusk that Nabibi opened his eyes and yawned widely much like a cat would do after it woke from a cat nap. He felt stiff and hungry; he would need to hunt before they set off to Midnight in their search for a feline companion for Shiane. He was pretty sure the Lucia’s shape shifter would be able to find what they both desired, she wanted wild and Nabi wanted human friendly. He wasn’t exactly sure if they would fine what they desired, but there was a deeper purpose in this quest. He needed to make amends with Lady Lucia and explain why he would not return to his side. Stretching his arms out wide, Nabi quickly scanned the area around him looking for his beautiful tamer companion. He thought it very amusing to see her sleep in a tree much like a leopard would on a hot day in the Savannah. The vampire chuckled softly and got to his feet heading deeper into the forest to catch something to feed on. Anything would suffice, but a large mammal like a deer would be desired to quench his endless thirst.

Leaving Shiane behind, Nabi as silent as death bolted into the darkness following his sharp senses to find his prey. He didn’t need to go far before the sound of heart beats in the distance caught his attention and his focused narrowed on it. It wasn’t until he had his fangs sunk into hits neck that he knew what he caught, the beast yelped harshly and tried to struggle for a moment before lying still. A vampire’s hypnotizing pull was strong and its barely took a thought to make the coyote relax to allow him to feed. Hearing the heart slow, Nabi pulled away and rested the canine down for it to slowly recover. He didn’t ever try to kill those he fed off of, but there were those times where he couldn’t control himself. Smiling that he wasn’t a murderer this time, he whipped the blood from his face and moved the coyote into a bush to keep it hidden so it would be preyed on before heading back toward the tamer.

“How was your cat nap?” Nabibi asked stopping right under Shiane looking up with a warm smile, a small smear of blood on his chin. If he knew it was there he would clean it off, but even if he had a mirror his ancient blood gave him no reflection in the glassy surface. It had been many centuries since he seen his own reflection, but even if he saw it, it would remains the same. “Well are you ready to head off, we should make it to Midnight just before sunrise.” He was somewhat excited about getting ready to go and confront his old love but also worried by her reaction as well as Shiane’s reaction be being in such an awful place. He would keep the tamer in the courtyard which he insisted in protecting and hiding from the human realm, they were to destroy it eventually for wood.

Nabibi watched the tamer’s graceful decent with a warm smile still truly amazed that he was able to find such a beautiful flower in the dark caves. How her sibling would kill her beloved panther and sell her out was beyond his understanding for he has never needed to be jealous of anything and wouldn’t know the reasoning. He didn’t think he would ever understand, he was just glad he was able to get her out of that horrible place. Was he asking too much to make her accompany him to a far worse off place, a building hidden in shadow from the world that kept many secrets. He could shield her from most of the terrible things that happened with Midnight; but she would eventually see, would she turn to hate him and run away? Nabi shook those fears away, right now it didn’t matter as he felt Shiane’s tender finger rub again his chin. He didn’t know he still had blood on him, he wouldn’t really be able to know even with a mirror. “Thank you and I am glad to hear you had a pleasant rest,” he follows her eyes to look at Guen not far out eating grass. She never did leave his side by far, even if she was captured and dragged away she would escape eventually and make her way back to him. He had often times feared for her safety, but he had another to worry about now. Nodding at the tamer’s question, Nabi grinned and made his way slowly toward the gray mare motioning for Shiane to follow. “All animals taste different; mammals have a more pleasant flavor than reptiles or fish. By far the best I have tasted would have to be human’s unfortunately, but I think that has to deal more with me being a Vampire.” He admits grinning with closed eyes as he reached Guen’s side and patted her strong neck and chest tenderly. She giddied but otherwise kept grazing being calm and patient; when they were ready she would be too. “I think I will run on foot if you want to ride her, she will be much faster anyhow with less weight on her back and I can very easily keep ahead of her to lead the way.” Nabi smirked feeling quite energized after his feed that he had the desire to run his heart out, I guess if he had to be compared to a wild big cat it would have to be a cheetah. Cunning, fast, intelligent, and patient; he was so much like the spotted slim cat who watched high on a termite mound over looking the Savannah watching the world pass by.

Nabibi smiled watching Shiane warmly stroke the gray mare, she looked like she had a fondness for the horse which he was thankful for. If it was the opposite he would have to make adjustments to his small bands of companions, but he wouldn’t think about that much. He was surprised by her sudden excitement and grinned toward her challenge in acceptance and sped off after the two being fair to not beat them completely. He stayed behind them for awhile getting close enough to pet Guen’s rump and then backed off. It wasn’t until he needed to lead them did he pull ahead easily, his vampire ability making outrunning a horse a simple task. Laughing teasingly most of the way, it wasn’t until the landscape around them started to change did he slow down the pace and proceed to a single one way street. It ran through the forest endlessly that looked strangely fake, like a wall of oak and pine from a different world and strangely it became darker in the distance. Even with the full moon over them, they continued into the loaming blackness until it suddenly cleared and a large castle like building suddenly came into view. The black and red walls making a creepy abstract design that symbolized the vampire in power. Nabibi pulled up short of the white marble path and motioned for Shiane to dismount so the mare could get some much needed rest. Ravens cawed above them on the iron cast fence watching his every move, but they did little else. If he was an intruder they would transform into their true form and take out the intruder. Nabi was no intruder, any crow or raven soldier knew the face to the old lord even if it’s been a hundred plus years. “Your safe with me, this…” he gestured toward the castle, “is Midnight. The kingdom of my late Lover, but no one would dare raise against me here so stay close and you will be fine. The person I seek here shouldn’t be too hard to find.”
