The ending never made any sense because the game was unfinished and was rushed because there is a side quest to get aeris back that was never finished either....thats why it never made sense but i think sephiroth was way too easy and i think that its one of the reasons because the game was rushed and never done all the way...
BS... I've talked with a squaresoft employee, and they hooked me up with one of the game's creators, and I was specifically told that the game WAS finished and Aeris was not suppopsed to come back. What would be the point of her sacrifice if she did? NOTHING!! POINTLESS!!! CRAPPY STORY!!!!! But, it is speculated, and I couldn't get an answer about this, that she was supposed to die in the North Cave. Note 2 things. ONE: Sephiroth is shown in 2 seperate clips. He is shown once, then a clip of Aeris, then another. In the First, you see no part of the Forgotten Capital, then, when he lands and stabs, he has black gloves on. Mistake? Not in the way you would think. There is also a level not accessible in the game, that plays Aeris' Theme, titled The Great Cave. It is a tall room. Perfect for drop-down stabbing. It is thought that originally, the death scene took place here, and the first part of the animation was made for this level, then a new half was added, with the addition of black gloves. See for your self.
