How about a sub-forum for random forum games? Such as the story game, where 1st poster starts with one sentence (or sentence fragment) and the 2nd poster adds to it and so on. The What Song Are You Listening To (in your pants) game, if that isn't considered to childish here. Things like that.

you could start it... I don't think it would be childish, unless if you want me to throw in some of my young nephew's songs.

A book club could be a good idea. A place to share and discuss favorite books. Perhaps an author's section in the book club as well to discuss our own writings; poems, songs, etc.

That was my thought, at least... and it would broaden our own fields of interest...
"Oh the lost chapters of Blah, Rob said it was a good book... " yank
"The lost years of Romeo and Juliet... hmm book club said bad book, cause Romeo and juliet died in the original... them coming back as zombies... "
razz
Sorry, had to throw some fun...

One of the reasons the guild was created, I think, was to have discussions on Christian topics with a more focused and thorough understanding of all things considered. Doesn't this mean we should all try to understand our Bibles more?
So I'm proposing a sort of way to study the Bible. I'm not saying that we should all do this haphazardly, but with a system. An easy, non-complicated one.
Exegesis and Hermeneutics can carry us a long way in understanding our Bibles. I've noticed that as I do this, I've grown in my understanding. I think people who don't do this become just one of those "other christians" who don't have a lot of understanding. Aren't these the guys we tried to get away from in the first place?
I'm new to the guild, so please let me know if there's already a thread on this. But I think it would benefit all of us in our understanding and growth.

If you'd like to start a thread on this, go for it. I'll sticky it. It might be good to see some different perspectives coming together and at least coming to an understanding.

I like the idea, but this isn't the best time for me. Finals and all... You can expect something in about a month though. I'll send it to you so that you can look it over. After some touching up, we'll see what happens. wink

More posts about praising or hating me? Oh wait, I could just reply to someone in MR or ED and get that result. Nevermind.
