It was dinner time and there was a small bit of a rush in the dining area. People were coming in to eat dinner instead of cooking at home which was fine but it also meant the waitresses were a bit more stressed plus they were short handed. Thus Faris was suddenly promoted to temporary waitress and was allowed to serve non-alcoholic drinks and food when the need called for it.
Faris also helped newcomers find a seat whenever they came in just in case her mother or another Hostess was busy which happened to be now. The young Gargoyle stood near the entrance of the tavern wearing a nice dress shirt and a pair of slacks and her nametag pinned to the front of her apron. Her hair was also nicely done up, or at least nicely enough. It was that or wearing a dress and other things which Faris refused to do at this point.
She waited for more incoming guests quietly.

Tarot wasn't too thrilled. She didn't see why they couldn't stay home and eat, where there were less people, but Sev was adament. He seemed to think her aversion to diners had something to do with that last one they had been to with Enyo. It wasn't that, she just enjoyed the quiet and privacy of home.
That being said, she couldn't stop her eyes from widening a bit as they entered a quaint-looking tavern and the first thing she was was a gray girl with black hair and rainbow streaks.

She greeted the father-and-daughter pair with her usual smile as she moved to approach them, "Hellos~. I y'am Faris. I shall helps find you seatings, yis. Where would you two like to sit? Non-smokings, yis?" The pair didn't seem like they would enjoy a seat in the smoking section but it was always best to ask. Most of the time guests sat themselves where ever they wanted but Luis was trying something new with the tavern and the seating to appease most at least a portion of the guests. Despite her recent difficulty with self-image Faris enjoyed the interaction with the customers.
Her tail swished a bit behind her as she looked from parent to small child and gave a small pause, "Small girl want a coloring books and some crayons too? Keep small hands busy, yis." Faris gave a small cheerful giggle.

"Yes please," Severus said polietly. Tarot wasn't an avid colorer, but it never hurt to have these things just in case. He was doing his best not to stare at the young hostess. Out of all the odd children he'd seen so far this was the first one he'd spotted with a tail and wings.
Tarot had already met a winged child, via Bug. Unlike Sev she had no reserves about asking questions, bluntly. "Why your wings above your butt," she asked. "An' why ya got such a huge tail?"

Faris went to get the crayons and a small coloring book from the nook off to the side and then held them to her chest along with the menu she grabbed from another side of the nook and then looked down at the small girl as she questioned her. The Gargoyle giggled softly at the question and found that those were the best and easiest questions she could answer, "Cos' I was made that way~," she said simply she had no biological reason for her appearance.
"S'like why you got the hairs and eyes you do. It's cos' that is how you just are. An' yer very pretty! Yis," she said cheerfully as she moved to lead them to the table of choice. It was nice and had a good view of the outside world thanks to the window. Thus far there were no drunkards yet - those came later at night when the small children were at home and in their cozy beds. She set the menus down on the table - an adult version for the gentleman and a children's version for the girl. Next to the children's menu she placed down the crayons and coloring book.

Tarot tilted her head, ignoring the warning look Sev gave her. "How c'n you fly like that," she asked.
Severus quietly sighed. He tried very hard, but if Tarot had questions she was never afraid to ask. As bluntly as possible. The girl didn't appear to be offended, which was a plus. He glanced at the menu, keeping an ear on the two.

Faris let the patrons seat themselves and didn't seem to see fit to flit off to attend the front of the tavern where she already was. She was actually enjoying the interaction with the small girl. Small children, she found, were delightful to interact with and always had fun questions to answer though the flying one always made her pause a little bit before she responded, "I can't fly," Faris replied simply with a small smile, "I y'am too heavies on the insides and stuff. My one of my best friendses can't even pick me up and he's a boy-thing," she giggled with a larger grin. She was very, very proud of the fact that Kay couldn't lift her up.
She shifted a bit, "Ohs! What you twos want for drinks, hm? I makes sure you gets it."

"Diet soda would be nice, whatever kind you have, for me, and milk for Tarot." Severus was glad Tarot wasn't a horribly picky eater, it made getting her her nutrients a lot easier.
Tarot had a couple other questions she wanted to ask, but she kept silent so the girl wouldn't have to stick around to answer if she had things to do. She didn't want to get the girl in trouble.

Faris nodded a bit at the older gentleman before she turned to Tarot, "I be's back okies?" she felt bad for just suddenly having to do some tasks on the small girl right when they were having a conversation and it seemed as if her mother had already sent someone else to her post for the time being. She supposed that she was now waitressing for the pair. She got the man a diet soda and some milk for the girl and returned soon enough and set the drinks down before them.
"Heres ya are~. I gives couple minutes for you's to figure out what ya wants t'eat?" Faris asked with a small tilt to her head.

Tarot shrugged. "Sev al'ays has ta order f'r me, I can' read yet." Her brow furrowed a little in frustration. She was getting better at it, but she only understood like half of the words. When ordering food that was a dangerous thing, because the one half might sound good, but that second half could slip in something nasty!
"Whatch're wings f'r then, if ya can't fly," she asked, picking right back up on her questions. She'd never seen anything with wings that couldn't fly before. She figured if Faris couldn't fly then they must serve some other purpose.
