He had known of the fountain for a while. Quint often came here for his need of quiet and just general peace; the noises from the other parts of the park didn't seem to reach here too easily so he liked it. He quietly fiddled with the disposable camera in hand as he got ready to take some pictures of the fountain. It was a nice little fountain some sort of weird artistic rendition of a pegasus in some sort of abstract manner surrounded by 'waves' of air currents that helped it fly along toward freedom at least that is what the youth assumed. He listened to the quiet trickling of water as it exited the flying equine's mouth with a small smirk.

Quint found that the trickling of water from the mouth was better than other places it could have trickled from so he found no real problem with it. So the nag had a drooling problem, he didn't judge. Drool away Seabiscuit. Drool away...

The youth crouched a bit of distance a way from the fountain and held up the camera to stare through the small window to try and get an ideal shot.

After last week's success, if that's what you wanted to call it, Sev had decided the park was good for Tarot. Unicorns and green girls were unusual friends, but beggers couldn't be choosers.

Of course, Tarot had wandered away from the main body of children and adults the instant Sev was distracted by some mom coming to chat with him. Away into the bushes!!

Tarot chose a different path this time, winding her way through all manner of branch mazes with tree and rock obsticles. She had been wandering quite happily for almost five minutes when the sound of bubbling water reacher her ears. Curious, she headed towards it.

Being little showed it had it's perks when she encounted a very thick, almost wall-like bush. She couldn't go through it but she could squeeze under it. And that she did, smudging her clothes with dirt. Oh well, she was wearing black so it would wash out just fine.

Tarot came through the bushes and onto a stone floor. In the middle of the stone floor was a giant fountain with a horse, which was apparently the source of the water sound. Tarot didn't see that she wasn't alone in the square, since she was already bored with the statue and wondered if she should keep exploring or go back under the bush and try a new path.

He'd been about to move to a new angle to take another picture of the fountain when he noted movement from the bushes. Quint stopped and moved to take a look only to see a small child wiggle through and then start to glance around as if she was about ready to go elsewhere. The taller teen frowned a bit and put his hand upon his waist and moved a bit closer, "Hey? Where's your parent, kid?" it was a simple question and not meant to be unfriendly. He honestly was concerned.

Why the hell did it seem like kids find their way to him? Was that all he could attract? Not that he wanted to attract anyone but still the point remained that lately wherever he went? There was a child somewhere that came up to him and either was lost or wanted to interact with him for some weird reason.

...Had he suddenly become a child-magnet?

Tarot looked around as a voice called out to her. Or she assumed her, there wasn't anyone else here. Now that he had moved a bit she noticed there actually was someone else in the little square with her.

He looked very.......neutral. Lots of grays and dark blues, with a few other nonoffensive colors. Positive marks for that move!

On the negative he was doing the waist thing with one of his hands. That usually meant worrying. Two hands was fussing or scolding, but one was just worrying. Tarot had found that worriers tended to try to steer her back to Sev, which, as she constantly pointed out, she would do on her own when she was ready.

"Pro'ly sittin' on a bench," the toddler said, looking innocent. She wasn't lying, Sev probably was sitting on a bench. In an attempt to divert the attention away from her and her lack of parental supervision, she pointed to the object the boy clutched in his other hand. "W'as that?"

He moved toward her a bit more and then crouched and stared for a long moment with a quiet gaze as if trying to decide what to do. Quint normally was a very responsible young man and would make sure to get the child to their guardian straight away but then again the child seemed to know where she left her parent and she also had a similar disposition to him as well as that faint 'Curio Aura' about her that he could sense through her electromagnetic waves.

Quint fiddled with his camera when she mentioned it and held it up, "This is a camera. You let me take one picture of you and I will let you hang out with me or where ever you want for a bit," he offered simply. Quint had wanted to take pictures with a living model for a while and the small girl looked interesting enough to warrant a picture for him. He waited for her to agree or disagree to the terms.

Tarot thought about it. She knew what cameras were, Sev had one. It looked very different though. She also knew about pictures. She wasn't too fond of them, it usually meant having to take baths, get her hair messed with, and get forced into frilly things with bright colors. And smiling, she had to smile.

"Do I gotta look at the cam'ra an' hol' still an' smile," she asked suspciously. She could stand still if she had to, but she never liked looking directly at the lense. And even if she had to do both of those, as long as the boy didn't need her to look all sunny and cheerful then she supposed it wouldn't be that bad.

"Pssh, no. Don't smile if you don't wanna and you don't have to look right at me either. I'd like it if you didn't. You don't have to sit completely still but don't move too fast either. The camera is kinda sh--crappy," Quint had taken a moment to edit himself, he didn't really feel like having a parent flailing after him just because he cursed in front of their kid or whatever.

He thought a bout it for a moment, "Go wherever you want and do whatever you want, if I like it I'll snap a picture, alright?" he offered the girl, he was letting her direct what the picture would look like in the end, essentially.

Tarot was satisfied enough with the answer. She looked around, wondering what she wanted to do. A normal little kid might have tried to scale the horse fountain, but it held little charm for her.

She did wander over to peer into the water. The stone had a pretty color. She fished her hand in to see if there were any lose bits she could put in her garden. Nope, no luck. Maybe something on the ground?

She wandered around the area, crouching down anywhere that look likely and poking around for some pretty stones.

He trailed around after the small girl but not too close he quietly knelt a bit when she seemed to settle in one place and lifted up the camera and when she was at her most 'natural' expression and pose he snapped a single picture. Quint preferred the pictures where the subject wasn't staring straight at the camera with a large cheesy smile, it made the scene seem more natural and easier and the flow was much better. The teen held onto his camera as he watched her.

"Any reason why you're diggin' around for rocks and stuff?" he asked curiously anticipating some sort of an answer that would seem interesting or even half worthy of paying attention to.

Tarot looked up. "Ta pu' in my garden," she said, shrugging. "If I fin' a really pretty one I pu' it on m' shelf with all the oth'r interestin' stuff I fin'."

She had already pocketed a couple small pebbles who's colors or shapes she liked. She hadn't found any whispering rocks yet. Sev told her to keep that part secret, cause most people didn't think rocks could talk. But some, the really clear ones, would whisper to her or show her pretty pictures. Not always, but sometimes.

"Ahh, neat. What kinda stuff ya grow in your gardens?" he asked curiously. Quint might as well make conversation with the small girl, as long as she stayed with him he knew she wouldn't get more lost or even end up in some sort of deeper trouble other than talking to him. He viewed himself as the lesser evil in the world of Strangers.

He'd be more likely to protect her from a predator than to be one himself not that most would think that upon seeing him.

Quint moved to sit on the ground and moved to fiddle with the disposable camera. The newer ones where like the digital ones and allowed previews. "Huh that's a pretty nice picture of you."

Tarot came over to peek at the screen, and made a face. She knew she was little, but there was a big difference in knowing and seeing. She lost interest in looking and went to move around the square some more.

"Pictures of now aren' as int'resting as pictures of long ago," she said. Newer picture didn't show her things nearly as often as older ones did. She'd found a nice one in a plant book. It made the air feel warm and damp, and it smell like plants.

"I gotta biiiiig lav'der plant, and lo's of little flow'rs tha' I find inna forest tha' look nice an' don' mind bein' moved," she answered to his first question. She only knew the names of a couple plants right now. Lavender was always her favorite, but lately the rosemary she'd tried to plant was also winning it's way into her heart.

He wasn't insulted as he was actually intrigued. Quint grinned slightly and shrugged a bit as he moved to tuck away the camera, "Well pictures of now become pictures of long ago so maybe it will be interesting to someone else if it isn't interesting to you," he replied simply. He had no real insight on anything otherwise.

Quint lived for the present (though it might not seem it) rather than the past.

"Ahhh, that sounds lovely, I bet you take real good care of them," Quint replied with a small nod. He rubbed at his neck a bit before he decided to introduce himself, "My name is Quint, would you like to come with me to another place so I can take a picture? You can even help me by picking out something for me to take pictures of next."

At least when she was under his care he knew she wouldn't tumble into worse company by accident, at least until he found her guardian who was sitting on a bench in some vague direction.

Tarot nodded. "I try m' best. Can' ask Tyyne f'r help though, she'd be 'pset if she knew I made it 'way from the house." She frowned at this Tyyne was such a nice girl, and had such awesome abilities. She just didn't understand why the girl insisted Tarot's garden be shoved right up against the house. Was it so wrong to want a secret garden, something a little private and away from others?

Quint's voice broke into her thoughts. "'M Tarot," she said, looking up briefly before giving the ground one last sweeping seach with her eyes. Nope, no rocks worth collecting. Therefore moving on might prove more benefical.

"'Kay. Wha' place're we goin' to," she asked, hoping Quint wasn't one of those who took long or fast steps.
