I was visiting my friend who works in a natural suppliment store. I felt a slight discomfort, looked at my watch and realized it had been over 4yrs since my last Midol. So I grabbed my purse and was ready to down my pills. The owner came and told me I should not be taking them. I told him I was aware of how painkillers destroy the lining of your stomach but I need to be able to go about my day and not feel like I'm dying. He offered me some kind of magnesium suppliment as a pain killer, and showed me some naural and homeopathic pills/oils made for PMS. Let me just say that I was previously on prescription pain killers and they didn't seem to work for me anymore. I believe the caffein in Midol has a lot to do with it's effectiveness for me since a lot of my pain is the result of constipation and bloating. So is it worth a shot? Here's the products he showed me: A.VogelBell PMS comboNatural Factors PMS formulaI forgot to write down the pain killer that he showed me.

I think it's worth a shot! I have never used natural pain relievers, but it's something I am interested in.
After reading this I think I might stop by my own natural store and see what they got ^_^

Ah, PMS/PMDD, I know it well. Magnesium didn't help me but turmeric did, in combination with progesterone cream.

I make a macerated rosemary and st. john's wort oil and it relieves my cramps (and muscle sprains!).

I've heard that Fenugreek supplement is good for cramps and other PMS related ailments if taken regularly, and apparently it can also make your breasts larger.

Wow, I should maybe try this sort of thing. I mean, painkillers' method of Make Your Brain Not Realize You're In Pain has never ever worked for me. Even the big, heavy duty prescription ones my mom never let me have access to didn't make me feel better.
Hell, even the ones they gave me in the hospital a month or so back did nothing....

Now, I'm male and so am lucky enough to never have to suffer menstrual cramps, but I've heard that orgasms help. Also, hot baths and chocolate. Or any combination there of.

Chances are, I'm lying bed in tears, sex not really something that's gona happen. Chocolate is ever so slightly helpful, probably because of the caffein, hot bath yes, warmth helps relax muscles, but, I'm talking serious, can't function pain here, not an annoying stomach cramp. I am curious to try turmeric and or magnesium. I found the magnesium helps me sleep. I heard it's a muscle relaxant whereas turmeric is an anti inflammatory.

If you're having cramping pain, take a cayenne capsule or spice up some food with cayenne, and then take a nice hot shower to improve bloodflow. It should greatly reduce the pain ^^

Muleberries are supposed to help with cramping related to periods.
If you have a David'sTea in your area they have a lovely tea called Mulberry Magic which also has hazelnuts in it. It has a wonderfully soothing and smooth flavour, and I've found it really relaxes my abdomen.
If you don't, I'm sure most tea shops would have a tea with mulberries available.
