Greetings. Although I am not new, I feel obligated to post, so that those of you who are new (read: have joined this guild or the Readers' and Writers' Guild within the past ~5 months) may make my acquaintance.
I have been a literature critic in a quasi-professional manner in excess of three years at this point, and although I did not choose to major in English, I could have done so, had I so desired (I am currently a B.Arch at Carnegie Mellon, which is a much more demanding degree). Although my skills as a critic have likely eclipsed my ability as a writer, I feel that I write at a competent level. I am able to answer any question one might ask about the technical aspects of English.
I am more than willing to aid any who ask, but I will not be your spellchecker. All word processors have fairly advanced accuracy scripts for spelling and basic grammar, so please use them. I suggest Open Office if you do not wish to purchase Word or an equivalent.

Welcome, Sam. What tropes do your stories typically span?
Additionally, making an effort to include punctuation and capitalization in your casual speech will likely aid your writing. Besides, this is a writing guild.

Punctuation saves lives, Classic example: Woman: without her, man is nothing Woman, without her man, is nothing.
It has saved men from many a black eye.

Hello I’m II Stelmaria II; you can call me Stel if you like most of my friends call me that. I have been telling stories for as long as I can remember; only recently I have been writing them down. For a long period of time I was in a group of students that went to our Elementary school with puppets and worked from scripts of our own creation with them. However most of it was improvised, unfortunately we aren’t able to do this any more so I resorted to writing them down. Over time I have attempted styles that are much more difficult.
I have completed many different works in nearly every genre; I must admit that my least favorite to write is romance. My favorite genres are as follows, Science Fiction, Adventure, Thriller, Mystery, Humor, Historical Fiction, Horror, folklore and myths. I also enjoy writing scripts, plays and thesis papers believe it or not, my favorite topics being the Victorian era, and the Renaissance. I usually write plays of tragedy or comedy I’ve never really dabbled in the other areas of drama. My works include 6 short story series, 2 novellas and one complete novel; I’m working on the second one in the series. I also have some random poetry and short stories stashed away.
I also love reading the classics my favorites being Shakespeare, Sophocles, The Republic, This Side of Paradise, The Prince and the Pauper, The Count of Monte Cristo and believe it or not Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.

Oh man, I totally forgot to do the whole "Hello World!" thing.
class wazzup { public static void main(String args[]) { System.out.println("Hello World!"); } }
Or if you don't speak that language:
#include using namespace std; void main() { cout << "Hello World!" << endl; }
Okay, but enough of the nerdspeak. Hey, I'm Lux. Call me Lux, Lux Aeterna, The Luxmeister, whatever. Doesn't really matter to me so long as it's not insulting. I'm big into music and stuff, with stuff being what this guild is all about (need I repeat it?).
I'm cool with pretty much everyone and everything - so long as everyone plays by the rules, it's all no harm, no foul.
Uh... what else am I supposed to say? Chill with me if you like- you'll find that I'm just a totally laid back dude. So... yeah. Light's blessing to all!

Welcome, Stelmaria. Your prolific writing habits are refreshing, particularly for one so young and busy. I might suggest perusing this thread if you would like to further your goal of being published. Your selection of favourite reads is enjoyable as well. I personally was quite disappointed with The Republic, although that is irrelevant. Incidentally, I am currently reading The Count of Monte Christo (page 367 of 1168 in my pdf). I shall share a quote which I find to be representative of the work, so that others' interest might be piqued. Alexander Dumas Pére A double line of carbineers, placed on each side of the door of the church, reached to the scaffold, and formed a circle around it, leaving a path about ten feet wide, and around the guillotine a space of nearly a hundred feet. All the rest of the square was paved with heads. Many women held their infants on their shoulders, and thus the children had the best view. Ah, Pére. You reveal gems in a work which I had expected to be standard. @Lux: Welcome. Old blood is as welcome as is new; I anticipate that you shall enjoy this guild as much as the other.

'Ello everyone! I'm TrinityKarose, or Trin for short. Usualy I keep my writing skills for roleplaying with other people, but I do write stories from time to time. Im not a complete perfectionist, but I can't stand it when I submit a story only to find out I spelled something wrong or the grammer is wrong! I usualy stick to writing fanfictions, since I'm not that good at poetry or writing lyrics and I HATE writing essays. Anyways, I hope I can learn a thing or two from all of you up-and-coming writers!

Welcome, Trinity. Your name recalls to me The Matrix, although I doubt that it would have been your inspiration.
Perhaps you might be coerced into starting a roleplay in our roleplay sub-forum? I am hopeless at roleplaying, and thus am unable to attempt such a feat.
I appreciate your need for correct grammar and spelling.

Good evening to everyone.
My name is cruentusinfeci, but the largest sum of people refer to me as Crue. I've been roleplaying for around two and a half years and have been writing in general for about four. I'm currently getting back into the swing of things as far as keeping up with roleplays is concerned. I'm also in the process of adjusting my writing style to suit my liking. My current writing idol is that of the ingenious Douglas Adams.
Feel free to contact me for writing samples or pointless chatter in general. I'm always open to conversation, so never hesitate to ask.

Welcome, Crue. Do you prefer that with umlauts, or without? I jest.
Ah, Douglas Adams. Classic. Do you enjoy the equally humourus, if less witty Pratchet as well?
