Personality: Loyal. More than anything, Mitsunari Ishida is loyal to the last breath. He will not break an oath. He will not betray an ally. And he will seek unholy vengeance upon those who commit such a sin. Stern, detached, and sometimes ruthless, he is willing to go to any length (within honor) to fulfill his duties. He is consumed with hatred and sadness at the loss of his Lord Hideyoshi, a duty that he feels he has failed. And yet, in spite of his tormented mind, he is not entirely without merits. He will recognize strength and positive qualities in one as it is proper, and he holds to a code of honor in his own way. So though he may seem dark, and though he may seem evil, it is actually quite the opposite...a man who takes his positive qualities to the extreme in the name of justice.
Bio: In life, Mitsunari Ishida was an exceptional warrior and a financial manager under the direction of Lord Hideyoshi Toyotomi and the Toyotomi clan during their unification and reign over Japan. He was capable and ranked highly within the clan, an intensely willing and unambitious man whose service to his Lord meant more to him than his very own life. Stately, stern, and proper, he was quick to follow any command of his lord and viciously denounce those who wavered in their duty or whose dedication to their Lord came into question. Loyalty was his life, his reason for living, and as he fought his battles (such as the victory at Odawara over Masamune Date and the Hojo Clan), made his allies (such as Yoshitsugu Otani, with whom he shares a close friendship), and defended Lord Hideyoshi's name, he became renowned as one of the most influential men in the country.

...Until it all came crashing down with the death of his Lord at the hands of his once-ally Ieyasu Tokugawa. Having been dealt the ultimate betrayal by a man he had once fought side-by-side with, Mitsunari's contentment in service became a cruel vendetta, a blood pact sworn against the man who had stolen away everything in his life that had meant anything to him. Forsaking all else, he began his quest to rid the world of his tormentor and take back the country in the name of his deceased Lord. But it was not to be...and at the Battle of Sekigahara his armies were crushed, his life ended...only to be reborn into this life anew 500 years later. To be the leader of the Western Devil Kings...

Now given a new life, there was no question that he would dedicate it to the one man to whom his life was owed; he lead the Western Devil Kings only out of loyalty to the Emperor and the Generals who had given rise to his new life, but always his glories belonged to his true Lord Hideyoshi. His reputation as an efficient and deadly weapon of the military became the stuff of legends fast, and all of his accolades, the respect laid upon him, he humbly gave to his Lord's memory. And always he hoped that by his service, one day his Lord's spirit would be returned to this world as his own had been, that the Toyotomi would one day be given rise once again to take back what belonged to them...though he himself would never dishonor his own name or that of his lord by acting in a disloyal fashion towards the current emperor, the long-forgotten throne of Shogun was still within his grasp.

...Until it wasn't. And the actions of one of his own allies, the treacherous Motonari Mori, cast him out of the limelight and turned his entire organization into a traitorous one. Now robbed of his very honor to the public by the claims made against him, he has become one of the most wanted men in the entire country that had once belonged to them. Angry, shamed, indignant at what has become of him, he seeks now more than anything the head of all the traitorous curs who turned their backs on he and his Lord. His broken heart weeps, and his eyes shed tears of blood...until that day when the rain falls down once more and undoes all the evil that has befallen him since then...each day spent bereft of any meaning in his life...

Appearance: Hakama pants with a dark red flame design on them, and a fitting top much like a ninja suit, draping down over his waist in the front. Around his waist are a ring of gold beads, and overlapping his shirt is a dark purple, sleeveless vest, with the Japanese design for clouds etched along them in red as well (like those fluffy orange Naruto clouds o 3o). Along his arms the long sleeves of his undershirt are belted, leading into black and indigo gloves. His hair is short but messy, in kind of a Silabus....Sophora-y...type fashion thing. Shut up, I didn't ask to describe it. He wears black ninja-like sandals. His skin is abnormally pale, as if the sun rarely touched his skin, and his hair is a ghostly white, while his eyes are an eye-catching red. I quit. Imagine the rest, shuddup.

Personality: A cold individual, Akifusa has become calculating not because he was wise from a young age, but because he is the type who fights in cruel measures. He acts extremely polite when speaking to most, but his real heart lies in lies, trickery, and most of all the underhanded methods that are scorned by anyone with a shred of humanity. He will offer you dinner, discuss your future business, offer to marry your beautiful daughter, and then poison your whole home when you rest peacefully that night. Trying to judge Akifusa by anything but the standards of business and money is of course, as if trying to judge a book by a cover...if that book contained nothing but profuse evil, of course.
Bio: Lord of the third party, Akifusa has from a young age been the type to distrust those who fight for loyalties or some misplaced beliefs, since such things can so often contradict one another and lead people to fight. Instead, he always found himself an ally of the impoverished, a master willing to ascertain soldiers only through the 'base' loyalty earned through money. In short, he's a believer in mercenaries. Deprived of his family's reputation, he became disillusioned with things like honor and loyalty when he was still impressionable, and instead of clinging to the past like his family who spoke of the 'good old days' before they were ostracized as criminals and traitors, he simply began his own business by using money to earn the trust of those who dealt in that lucrative form of loyalty, knowing that money could buy what mere respect and honor could never earn. Yes, a traitor could never become rich and famous, with dozens of adoring followers and a home all to himself simply by trying to show his loyalty; and his family had squandered his chances of that long ago. But if he earned money, and poisoned those who spoke out against him, dealing in death and coin instead of respect and hard work, then through that fair game he would become greater than god himself in many aspects!

With his power and the passions of a former general renown for making use of a mercenary army, which most would find too unstable, Akifusa quickly became a prominent members of the Devil Kings of the West and his ability to conjure up victories without an actual battle earned him his place rather quickly. Not many poked their noses into his business, and so very few realized the reason he won 'without resistance' was because there was no resistance to be had. He's a poison user, a briber of officials, the kind of seedy underboss that one would never expect to go far in the real world and yet that are really all too common. Still, Akifusa's gift is also his curse; mercenaries, the only men he truly trusts, cost money, and keeping his identity buried in the past requires work. That is why he acquired his second talent, the one for the dirtiest methods available, and now he has a penchant for killing those who place their undying loyalty in him all while wearing a smile, so long as it either advances his position, or simply because they may have come close to knowing too much about his true nature. Akifusa treads the line between the common man and the greater, lacking the talents of great men but making up for it by killing said great men, and though he was raised an outcast and knows better than most what it is to be the scum of the country, he has walked in the society's highest circles for years, and knows how to treat others with a politician's heart just as well. If there were a word for this cruel and judgmental man, it would undoubtedly be a phantom; after all, no one has ever seen him alive for long, if they weren't paid or paying for the privilege in turn.
