I recently started watching an anime...
...and got to like it!
Which is usually very rare when it comes to me. I have tried Naruto, Death Note, FMA, FMP, and many many others, and got stuck at the 1st or 2nd episode. Right now I'm at this anime's 5th episode!
Have YOU started an anime recently (=about a few weeks ago) ???
About the title: One of the characters in the anime tends to say 'Oya' in many situations xD I just find it so cute and amusing! *w*

I started watching a couple actually. My roommate Dylan turned me on to a pair of anime made by the same director.
The first is called 'Gambling Apocalypse Kaiji' and it's about an unemployed loser in Japan who ends up 3,850,000 Yen in debt to the Yakuza and this financing firm because he cosigned on a friend's loan, then the friend ran off, leaving Kaiji to pay the whole thing. Luckily, the Yakuza just happen to have a solution for him, he has to board a cruise ship with a bunch of other debtors and play a game, and if he wins his debt is abolished. Here's the thing, the game is Rock, Paper, Scissors FOR HIS LIFE! If he loses he'll be forced into hard labor until his debt is paid off. Later in the series he ends up having to play other games to pay off the debt, it's about 26 episodes long.
The second is simply called 'Akagi' and it's a lot like Kaiji in that it's about gambling, except Akagi, the title character isn't in debt, his struggle isn't nearly as captivating and it's about Mahjong.
Finally, my other roommate Danny's, his brother Paul has been forcing me to watch 'Combat Butler Hayate'. It's pretty good, filled with references to other Anime and it's basically a parody of action/romance Anime. But part of me doesn't want to watch it simply because I'm being forced to. My ever increasing need to rebel lol.
Oh and as usual I'm rewatching Eureka SEVEN, Gurren Lagann, Cowboy Bebop ((My favorite anime of all time)) and Trigun.
I'm also keeping up with One Piece, which is the only one of the Big Three ((One Piece, Naruto and Bleach)) that I follow actively because it's the only one to stick to it's premise after 400 episodes and is still entertaining.
Yes, I am an Otaku.

Yes, I am an Otaku. LOL watching only those means you are an Otaku? :3 Then I'm gonna be one soon o.o Only that I don't really have the time for it ._. BAH BLEACH IS GOOD NONETHELESS T.T Maybe try out Gintama. I don't know, by what you listed as recently started ones, Gintama popped up in my head. They sometimes do stuff like Rock-Paper-Scissors, and hazard games xD It's an absolute-comedy-parody thing, with some action, touchiness and seriousness in it ^^ I have never been as WTF in my life before as with Gintama XD

That's not what I said AT ALL, I never said I only watched those. I've watched countless Anime, ((That's not me bragging, I've literally lost count XD)) I said these are what I'm watching RIGHT NOW. I cosplay at cons for God's sakes XP.
I've already watched Gintama and I'm sick of Bleach. Kubo has no idea what he's doing. He CLEARLY SAID that the Espada were counted from 1 to 10, but at the end of the arc he introduces the '0' Espada and says he never said what he said in the first place. Besides, it's turned into Dragonball Z, it takes 30 episodes to do anything.
As for WTF Anime, watch Tokyo Magnitude 8.0, which is a disaster movie in episode form and has a serious 'wtf' ending.

Nope, nothing in the past few weeks, though I'm currently in the middle of watching anime that has been out for a while and never got around to it. I also, have to wait for new episodes to come out for on-going series. I'm always looking for something that I haven't seen before that I might like. Maybe this poll will help come up with a few new ones.
