Shoes. So many shoes. He didn't see the point! Why did one person need more than one pair? A pair of boots for when it was cold, sure. He could understand that. But twenty shoes? What could you possibly need so many for?
And oh, god, the dresses.

He was just about ready to burst. He had told them he was going to the bathroom, but really, Dimitri was just going anywhere but in there. His father, he thought, had incredible foresight. The man had claimed a business meeting and took off as soon as Kali and Katia had suggested the mall.
A pity, Dimitri had no such excuse. And so, he became the 'bag man'. And then 'the dress up doll'.

That was about when he had formulated plan 'GET THE HELL OUT'.

Now, he was hurrying across the shopping center as fast as his little legs would carry him, trying to find somewhere they wouldn't find him. The top of the fountain seemed a pretty good choice; neither of them was tall enough to reach...though, neither was he.
So that didn't work.

"Need. A place. To hide." he said aloud, pausing in the center of the large lobby. "Gotta hide, gotta hide."

Onuris and Ichabod had come to do some shopping. Shopping which included clothes and shoes, shoes that were for boys because all Onuris had (thanks to having nothing but daughters till now) was girl clothes to hand down to Ichabod. Naturally the thought was deemed undesirable by son and father a like so they went about getting a bigger wardrobe for the boy.

The Father was slightly pickier than the son. Things needed to fit just so and that color didn't go well with the boy's hair at all and that shirt doesn't sit well on the shoulders at all. Onuris ranted quietly that one would think that in a whole factory of people who sewed and made clothes at least ONE article of clothing would fit perfectly on just about anyone. Thus by the time they were heading in for shoes Ichabod was desperate for a break.

Only he didn't have an easy time slipping away. Try this shoe on. Try that one on. Does that too snug? How's this one?

Finally Onuris saw something he wanted for himself and became absorbed in that and Ichabod slipped away to the lobby and gazing around curiously for a place to sit for a moment and rest his weary feet.

Dimitri was in such a hurry to get away that he didn't notice the other boy standing in the lobby. Looking over his shoulder, he scanned the crowd for Kali's telltale red hair. Nothing. So that meant that they hadn't noticed he'd gone and weren't following hi-
"OW!" He yelped as he ran smack into Ichabod, falling backwards onto the ground. Wincing, he rubbed his behind, looking around for what, exactly he had barrelled into. Why hadn't they moved? Sure, it had completely been his fault...but still. He had bigger things to worry about than people standing around. Like Kali. And how angry she'd be when she found out that he'd left.

He wasn't expecting anyone to bump into him it was obvious the way he let out a sudden cry and suddenly his head seemed to jumble loose and fall off of his shoulders due to his lack of control over that particular ability. Thump the head fell onto the floor causing Ichabod to let out another cry but of pain from the impact. The head rolled a bit off to the side.

The body immediately started patting around on the floor for his head.

The head spoke up softly, "H..Help me please? Can someone get my head back to my body?" he still hadn't gotten a good look at the offender that had run right into him.

So, Kali was no longer the scariest thing Dimitri had seen all day. The detatched head, rolling across the floor?
Yeah. That one took the cake.
It was not, however, the weirdest thing he'd seen today. That prize went out solely to his Dad, sitting on the couch, watching soap operas with a beer in one hand and a tissue in the other.

After the initial shock wore off, Dimitri scrambled over to the head with wide eyes, and picked it up. How was this kid alive if his head had fallen off?
"Uh. Um. H-here?" He said, holding the head out to the body. "Uh...should I just...stick it on?"
Yeah, this was creepy. But the longer he held the head, the cooler it got. Did he know what he could do, with his detatchable head? He could scare the PANTS off of Katia, for one thing. The thought almost brought a grin to rival Luka's to the charming prince's face.

The body reached its hands out to take the head back while the head still spoke to the boy that was helping, "Just hand it to my body it'll be fine." Once the head was back within the Body's possession it put the head back on the 'proper' place. The boy did this so he didn't make some of his family members uneasy also it got tiring carrying around his head all day - so really this was the best solution if he wasn't sitting. Ichabod reached out and presented a hand again, "Thanks! My name is Ichabod and I'm sorry for bumping into you," despite it being the other way around the red-eyed boy felt it was his own fault.

If he hadn't been standing there like a goof none of this would have happened. The boy gave a small pause as his eyes flicked around before he focused back on the other boy, "I..didn't scare you did I?"

"Scare me?" Dimitri repeated, thinking about it. The truth was, yes, he had scared the living crap out of him. He had been very tempted to scream and run in the other direction. Of course, he had asked for help, which really diminished the headless horseman fear factor he had going for him...
"Pfft, no. You just surprised me, is all. I've never met someone whose head came off. That's pretty cool. " Right. Like he'd ever admit he'd been scared out of his wits to a boy he had just met. Dimitri was waay cooler than that. For sure.

He reached out and shook Ichabod's hand, smiling.

"I'm Dimitri, and I'm sorry I ran into you, but I was kind of trying to hide from my cousin and-" He stopped, his eyes widening. "Crap! I'm hiding from my cousin!" He hissed, ducking down behind Ichabod and looking in the direction of the shoe store he had come running from. No sign of Kali, but you could never be too careful.
"If she sees me standing around, I'm doomed. Quick! We need to hide. You'll be guilty by....by..." Oh, what was that phrase Katia used all the time?
"By association!" He whispered, though it wasn't like the conversation needed to be hidden from anyone in particular.

Ichabod wouldn't have blamed the boy if he was scared and wouldn't have held it over his head - at least not right now. He gave a small nod and smiled, "Good."

He shook hands with the other boy and listened as Dimitri introduced himself and continued to talk. Ichabod's easy going demeanor and smile soon faded into confusion as the other boy began to seem to go into a panic and eventually hid behind him. Ichabod turned his head as much as he could dare to without it twisting awkwardly or falling off as his brow furrowed to show his concern and suddenly his eyes widened at the implied idea that he'd be guilty for something just because he was associating with Dimitri - that was hardly fair at all!

"B..But wouldn't hiding make it worse?" He pointed out curiously. Despite wanting to not get in more 'trouble' by running away he started trying to look for a place they could hide before he pointed toward a open doorway somewhere close by, "How about in there?"

"You know, one would think that running would make it worse, and I'm only prolonging the inevitable, but really, I'd rather prolong it as long as possible. No way am I staying and fetching shoes for them. She can get mad if she wants. You know? That door looks great. Let's go." He didn't particularily care what store it was, as long as it was one he could hide in. He beamed at Ichabod, and proceeded to hurry over to the doorway he gestured at, beckoning the other boy after him.

This was actually kind of exciting, he thought, if you didn't focus on how much he wanted to scream like a little girl. It was a real adventure. Like Indiana Jones. He was the explorer, Ichabod was his sidekick, and the girls were the evil shoe nazi's!

Perhaps, though, Viktor should limit how much of those movies Dimitri was allowed to watch.

Ichabod scurried along with Dimitri for the moment forgetting just where his guardian for the moment. Ichabod felt confident he'd still find his Father where he had left him and probably still pining over whatever it was the redhead was pining over. He gazed around the store for a long moment and discovered that it had a bunch of interesting looking blades and weaponry hanging on the walls and in display cases. At least they ended up somewhere interesting (if not a little dangerous). For now the shopkeeper seemed enthralled with the magazine they were reading so the boys could probably spend a few moments 'browsing' before they are made to usher their way out.

The small boy looked around a bit, "This place is kinda neat? Good hiding spot, yeah?"

Those seeking Dimitri out wouldn't think to look for him here - right?

Actually, it was probably the first place anyone would look for him. But, Dimitri didn't much care. It was the COOLEST store, in the ENTIRE mall. He loved it!

"This...is awesome." Dimitri's face broke into a wide grin as he looked at the weaponry, reaching out to press his face up against one of the glass displays. Wide eyed, he looked back at Ichabod.

"Dude! That's a SWORD. My dad has one, but I'm not allowed to touch it. This is so cool! Look at them all. Man. I wish I had one." Though, there was a very good reason he didn't have a sword. He'd probably end up going crazy with it, or something. It just seemed like a bad idea.

"Which one would you get if you could? I'd get that big one over there. It looks like SHARK teeth." He grinned.

Ichabod smiled lightly at the boy's reaction at least he was happy now and that was a good thing, right? He started to take a better look around and didn't seem too uneasy about the whole thought that there were sharp pointy things hanging about (mostly behind display cases). He looked back at what his 'partner-in-crime' was gazing at and smiled a bit, "My father carries something like it, and he does tricks and things with all sorts of blades and things. It's sort of like a dance."

He paused thoughtfully and then nodded, "I wouldn't mind having one but I don't know if I would be any good with one," he uttered thoughtfully as he gazed at the other blade Dimitri mentioned and grinned a little wider, "It does! Looks neat."

The boy shifted his stance a little, "Don't think they'd let us have one yet, huh?" he nodded toward the shopkeeper who was still busy not looking at them.

"Let us have one? Yeah....probably not." Dimitri sighed. If he'd learned anything, it was that adults didn't trust him with sharp objects. With good reason! But it still stunk.

"Your dad sword dances? That's so cool!" He grinned. "Mine just glares a lot. I've never seen him use the sword. He got it out once to scare Kali's friend Lance. THAT was funny." He grinned, peeking over at the shopkeeper as well. He really hoped they wouldn't get kicked out.

"So, what's with the head thing?" He found the courage to ask, wandering a bit of the way down the aisle. "Is it supposed to do that? Like, does it hurt?" As far as he knew, heads weren't supposed to come off...
