my uproar story:
I got there at like 2:15 and walked past the HUGE line of hundreds and hundred of people to the box office to get my VIP laminates, once we got those it we had to wait in the VIP line for like 4 minutes to get in while everyone else was stillwaiting. XD
then we headed to the merch booth, and since we were in the ampitheater before everyone else who would be handing shirt prices to the workers but Jason Berry! I was the only one there that recognized him, but I didn't go say 'hi' because I was too nervous.
after getting shirts and stuff we went over to check out the Rockstar Lounge. It was nice, shady, air conditioned, and had actual bathrooms (the rest of the venue didn't) the only thing about it that sucked is rockstars were like super tiny and cost $6, my mom was pissed because beers cost $11, lol.
skipping to later in the day I went to the Jägermeister(sp?) Stage and found out that if you bought a stone sour CD at the Best Buy booth then you could get a wristband to meet them. I freaked out, and got a CD and wristband. when it came time to meet stone sour there was a HUGE line! of course I cut in the line. XD by the time I got close to stone sour I was sooo shaky and I like couldn't even speak, so I just handed them the CD to sign, waved said 'hi' and walked to the next person. at the end of the signing table was the one and only COREY TAYLOR (yes, the corey taylor, lead singer of stone sour, AND of slipknot) I almost fainted. I handed my CD for him to sign and I was soo shaky that he laughed at me, and he asked how I thought Uproar was going so far and I could only just barely utter the word amazing. then he shook my hand and I walked out of the booth. afterwards I couldn't feel my hand, and I could barely walk.
then we went down to the pit, we were there early so we were SO close to the stage, we listened to halestorm, and they were good. then stone sour played and they were AMAZING. at one point corey told the crowd to try and repeat what he said, he started making a bunch of random noises, we all copied, and then finally he made a very dirty noise and everyone still repeated, he started cracking up and like fell to his knees and said "well that backfired" XD
so now for the best part, stone sour walked off set, and it was now dark outside. A huge black curtain came down at covered the entire stage view while they were setting up. the curtain came up 15 minutes later and the stage was covered in blue lighting, there were 3 huge gates across the back of the stage behind the drum set, each Gate had a letter on it 'A 7 X' with the nightmare album cover in the back. Then the lights dimmed, and a spot light went to the stages roof, there was a guy in a suit, pacing back and forth. he picked up a noose, and put it around his neck, then he jumped. the beginning notes of nightmare played and Avenged walked on stage, I could see them perfectly they were sooo close! I was screaming at the top of my lungs and pushing my way closer to the front. I threw up a "<3" sign and I swear to god syn looked right at me, I almost died. the pit was crazy, I was getting pushed around, kicked and pushed, and at one point there was this uber tall dude that stood in front of me, so I pushed him over. XD
later in their set matt stopped in the middle of 'so far away' to talk about how amazing jimmy was and he said "I want everyone to get their lighters and phones in the air so that crazy ******** can see you all up there." then everyone started a Jimmy chant. they ended the night with 'almost easy' in which matt made everyone chant "I'm not insane! I'm not insane! hahaha."
disturbed was pretty awesome too and their lead singers voice is amazing live.
