This is a private RP for Eftemie.
If your name is not listed here, then please do not post in this thread.

This takes place in a forest glade near the dark castle of Azmodeus. There will be subtle information here about the upcoming metaplot but it is up to you to figure it out.

He had not been hard to find. Mazken watched the yokai closely before moving towards him. The animals were crowded around him as he sat on the rock amidst the creatures. A faint flicker slipped thru the oversoul's eyes as she dropped down behind them.

The creatures scattered much to Valkon's annoyance. Not at them. At her. He stared at the strange oversoul silently, his eyes narrowed in observance.

"Lord, you are Valkon, are you not?"
she asked softly, her voice stiffly formal.

Valkon's gaze intensified as the last of the creatures vanished entirely into the brush nearby and beyond. His tails twitched as he got to his feet. Nervously, Clipper still sat on his shoulder and the yokai reached upwards to soothe his ruffled feathers.

"What do you want?"
he asked abruptly, neither identifying himself not negating her information.

"I am Mazken. I serve the Lady Seska. The Lady wishes to speak to you and I am to bring you to her,"
the oversoul stated, her eyes flickering though the expression on her stony face revealed little of what she was thinking.

Valkon raised an eyebrow, simply watching. "Then let her come,"he replied challengingly. "I have better things to do than waste my time with spoiled goddesses." He had recognized the name as one of those the festival in the town had been about. In truth he had not thought they existed and it amused him greatly to find he had been proven wrong. But he had little time for a goddess of the living. "If she wants to speak to me, let her come here."

With that said, Valkon turned away leaving the oversoul staring at him.

The oversoul blinked in true surprise. Was he really going to simply walk away? When the goddess wanted to see HIM specifically? Watcher had said he was... difficult.

Mazken stretched her wings out, flying up into the air. She would return to her Lady but she was quite certain that the goddess would be more than angry.

"He said what?" she snarled, her fingers tapping on the table beside her. The goddess Seska got to her feet, annoyed that someone had actually outright refused her. "Of all the nerve..."

Mazken had backed up with a wince. "Yes, my Lady. Exactly as I said. Watcher said he was difficult to deal with."

"Of all the arrogant..."
the goddess began, only to stop, shoving her hair from her eyes. The teal tipped black tresses slid back immediately to partially block her view. She impatiently tapped her fingers on the table she stood beside. Her eyes narrowed thoughtfully. Was there a better way to deal with him and get what she wanted? Again shoving the hair from her face, she walked over to the window. Glancing out over the landscape around her, she calculated her options.

Valkon was stubborn, but he was as dark as she was. Thumbing his nose at her was something she would have done if she were in his position. If nothing else, she understood that. Her lips curved upwards vindictively.

The oversoul watched her mistress closely. She must have an idea and her own lips curved upwards as she waited for further instructions.

"Mazken, remain here. I'll go speak to him. If Juska looks for me, tell her that I went to see both of them."
the goddess replied then vanished. Some days one just had to do it oneself. And this day was no exception.

Mazken sighed. She somehow doubted Valkon would be happy to see Seska. He didn't seem to like anything except animals.

It was late afternoon when she appeared in the forest. Glancing around her, Seska could see why Valkon did like it so much. The sun was filtering down through the trees giving it a warm golden glow. Fluffy seeds drifted as they floated along tossed by a playfully gentle breeze. The green of the leaves and stems of the plants was so varied that it could have been said to be a kaleidescope of hue.

A sigh slipped from her lips as she stepped lightly across the area. A few small creatures simply stared at her, one small rabbit in particular. For a long moment the goddess simply watched it closely.

"Well," she stated, tapping her foot impatiently. "Where is he? I don't have all day. There are important things to do."

The rabbit's brown eyes almost looked amused at her. Then it began to hop down the path before her. It was narrow and barely used except by the creatures of the forest, but it led back to the glade that Valkon frequented.

As Seska followed it, she frowned. What would get to Valkon and get him to do what she and Juska wanted done? She continued walking but then as she stepped out into the glade, she realized she had lost the bunny that she thought was leading her to him. And there was none in the glade except a small doe.

The deer raised her head staring at the goddess. Lowering her head back to the ground, she simply began to eat again. Her tail twitched and her ears were laid back more than normal but other than that there were no indications that she was paying any attention.

"Grr... where did that silly rabbit go?" Seska growled as she stepped towards the doe. "So now where? He's not here."

The deer raised her head, staring at the goddess again. Then she began to move towards the other side of the glade. Whatever was happening, she wanted no part of it.

Shoving hair from her face, Seska sighed. Perhaps the deer was now her guide to him. He most certainly was not making this easy and she was going to inform him of such.

When she caught up to him.

Valkon was sitting in the tree amidst his crows simply watching her. If a crow could smile, then he was grinning. He simply watched her. The rabbit had been asked to lead her there and then disappear. The doe knew nothing however and simply went back to eating.

He wondered how long it would take her to leave. Why was she bothering him anyhow? He did not care about her problems. She was part of the problem with everything anyhow. As much as Kita and Az were. And even though his loyalties lay with the shadowy god, Valkon was certain he would do better with him than with any of the others.

"Valkon! Come out!" she growled, turning in a full circle as she tried to find him. "I have things to do and I'm done with your silly games."

For a moment he hesitated, thinking. What if she had some useful information that he and Chronos could use to their advantage? He sighed. I suppose that is what I should do. It doesn't mean I have to be nice to her though.

Dropping down from the tree, he flew over her head for a moment. He was tempted to drop bird poop on her head but then even though the thought of it dripping down her hair was funny, he refrained. Landing on his feet as he changed shape, the yokai folded his arms and simply waited.

"It's about time. I need to speak to you about something."
she began.

He held up his hand. "What makes you think I want to hear it?"

Her eyes narrowed at him. "You are as insolent as Mazken stated."

"And you had your doubts?" Valkon laughed. "Maybe next time you should believe your own servant, Goddess."

She growled, shoving hair from her eyes. "Whether you want to hear it or not, there are things for you, Chronos, and Watcher to do."

"Watcher?" Valkon's lips twitched. "Now you have my interest. I owe that bag of bones for something."

"Well, keep that for later," she snapped. "Now do you want to know or not?"

Seska watched Valkon closely, her eyes annoyed. Folding her arms, she stared as he continued to smirk at her. She wanted to wipe that expression right off his face. The only problem was she needed he and Chronos to do some things for her and her sister. And the yokai knew it.

"I need you and Chronos to do something for me," she finally stated still watching him.

Valkon laughed, his lips curling upwards. He folded his arms across his chest and replied, "What makes you think we care to help you, Seska?"

"You are more likely to do the opposite, but this is not just for our benefit. It's for everyone's. Living and dead. Besides you don't really think that you are on the same level as Juska and I, do you? Even with your new-found power?"

"Really? Shall we test and see? Besides, if that were the case, why are you here? You would not need us,"
he stated with an air of confidence and arrogance.

A growl slipped free of her lips before she could stop it. "Are you going to listen? Or do I need to go to Chronos himself?"

The shifter laughed. "I suppose I should. Chronos isn't likely to give you more than I have. But it will be a good laugh for us later." He was having a great deal of fun taunting the goddess, but how far should he push it?

Her eyes narrowed. If looks could kill, hers would have in that instant. "You are an..." she began.

"And I had you pegged for a lady. Just shows how wrong someone can be."
he interrupted smoothly and in even more amusement.

Seska snapped. "Just shut up and listen." Instead of letting him taunt her further, she explained what she and Juska had decided to do.

Surprised, Valkon was silent for several long moments. A frown appeared on his face. He had no love for the living, but had it really come down to this? "You do realize what this will mean for both the living and the dead?"

"Yes. I would not be here if it was not necessary. It is not merely my choice in the matter, but also that of my sister. She agrees and it is one of the only ways to rebalance things again. They must learn."

"And the three not to be affected?"

"Anyone finding them remain safe, Valkon. But they have to figure it out. They all need to be stronger and work together."
she replied.

"I don't know. I will guarantee nothing though I could have some fun with it. I need to speak to Chronos. It will be a good laugh if nothing else."
he smirked, all nine tails twitching in amusement. The next moment he was winging across the woods. This might be serious, but he would have his fun anyhow.

"Jerk."
Seska said, stomping her foot on the ground. "I was not finished yet." Perhaps she should go to Chronos instead.
