Once again, smogon is stupid. They're considering starting gen v with no banlist.
It's pretty obvious that you can't have a metagame with ******** Arceus and have it balanced.

Glad I quit at Gen2.

I don't think Smogon's being that stupid... yet. I mean, Arceus is clearly uber by any standard, as are pretty much every box legend and Mewtwo, but unless someone's being super dumb (I won't rule it out), it should only be a few days before they decide "oh, maybe Arceus really is overpowered. Ban it."
Why I say Smogon isn't being that dumb yet is because there's so many overpowered Pokemon coming in this generation that some Pokemon that were previously uber are probably now rather tame in power, and it would be a bad idea to start with them banned and never give them a chance to see competitive play just because they were banned in gen4. They did that at the beginning of gen4, and they're still trying to figure out the tiers 4 years later and when the new gen's out (and this is the reason I won't rule out stupidity).

They have a sixth month plan they're voting on last time I checked. The "obvious" ubers would be out after two weeks of testing. I can see it taking much longer than six months.

I can too. *looks in Gen4's direction*
If it does take 6 months like they're planning, though, I'll be somewhat impressed. I'm guessing that's 6 months after Shoddy adds gen5 support, or another simulator does and everyone uses that one instead or something.
