I was in the bathe and inspiration struck. My mother has been urging me to write something about Fireflies because they play a large part in both my mothers and my childhood. I had an idea for a story and I need some feed-back.
Its going to start with an elderly man telling a story to a group of small children at a Library on Senior Day. His story: Once upon a time (jk) the skies were ruled by large beasts. There were two different groups: The Lighting Bugs which created stroms and lightening when angered, and the Fireflies which were a bit smaller. The Fireflies could breathe fire. The tips of both of the creatures tails light up as a beacon in the dark because they are most nocturnal. The humans and the Beasts are at war because the Lightening Bugs and the Fireflies want domain over the Earth. A small boy finds a way to capture the Lightening Bugs and entrap them in small glass balls that we call Light Bulbs. The Fireflies fear being captured like their brothers, so in an at attempt to escape notice the shrink themselves and stop breathing fire. This is the tale of the modern Fire Fly.
Good idea..Bad..?
I like it. Very interesting, but how would the story progress from there?
