Kenneth felt the spell end its hold on his body, he slowly got to his feet and brushed the dust off his cloths. "You know even with the padding on the floor, its still dis-concerning to have no control as you fall to the ground." He told the girl after he got back to his feet. He gave her a smile and a nod telling her that he was okay without actually saying the words. "So Amelia, that just leaves one last spell to perform."

User ImageIn a soft voice Amelia responded, "I can imagine." In fact, the thought terrified her. She remembered the camp she went to tried to get her to do it consciously: so that someone would catch her. Even then, while she stopped herself she'd cry out in fear. She wasn't willing to test the theory, but falling without being able to scream seemed much worse. She returned his nod, accepting that he was fine none the less. "Eventually, would it wear off?" Maybe the fact that it could fade would ease her fears.

She was distracted for a moment, so it took her a few seconds to remember the final curse. The curse of the bogies. Whatever a bogy was. Mucus ad Nasam...no..Nausam...a frown crossed her face. She wasn't sure. Bending down, she picked up her parchment with the notes reading the last spell: Mucus ad Nauseam. Stuffing the paper in her pocket, she looked up at the Professor again,
"The spell, is it like nausea? Just with an m at the end?" This spell seemed the most dangerous, so she wanted to make sure she got it right. What if she mispronounced it just enough to keep Finite from working? It would be the second person she'd nearly killed in less than a week! No, she was being careful.

"Well no, the spell would not wear off over time. The only way to end a spell is to cast Finite, or the person who cast the spell on the others dies. An example would be when Albus Dumbledore cast the full body bind on Harry Potter at the top of the Astronomy tower in 1997. Once Albus died the power behind the spell that was holding Harry in place broke thus setting him free. And yes the second half of the incantation for the curse of the bogies, is nausea with the letter 'm' at the end."

[[ This post is crap IMO, but I'm not feeling 100% so I posted anyways so I wouldn't leave you hanging. ]]

User Image((Trust me, I completely understand. I'm just starting to get better; I've been sick the past few days. I know how hard it can be to roleplay or write anything when you're feeling bad. Not that your post is bad; I didn't give you a lot to elaborate on to begin with. I do hope you feel better soon though.))

Amelia was surprised that it didn't fade.
"So whoever I cast it on remains connected to me? It was an unnerving thought. But the only one that clearly made sense to her. She had felt the spell leave her wand, but there probably still was the faint connection. Perhaps this time she'd extend it a little longer to see if she could test the theory. She nodded to his addition, glad she was right with the curse of bogies. Though she'd probably ask Professor Kalle what a bogy was. It had to be a magical creature, right? Maybe she'd consult books first. Life would be so much easier with the internet. "Are you ready?" she asked, this time allowing herself to really imagine what the spell would do. It would feel like a severe cold that quickly worsened. Nodding to herself, she raised her wand, waiting for his answer.

Kenneth really didn't know how to explain the connection to Amelia, so he tried his best and said "It's not really you that has the connection. It's the power of you magic, so once that power ends, either by your death or someone negating that magic with Finite, the person you cast the spell at will be free." When she asked him if he was ready to begin the final spell of the night he nodded his head in affirmative. He really wasn't looking forward to practicing this spell with her, the curse of the bogies was never a pleasant experience.

[[ Thanks I feel loads better today. Last night I had to take some medicine, and all I had was night time, so it didn't take long for that stuff to make me sleepy and unable to concentrate all that well. ]]

User Image((Good. I understand; I'm glad the medicine worked.))

Amelia nodded, not letting her curiosity take over. Later, with a much happier spell, she'd practice and learn about how magical travels between its caster to its target. For now though, she had one more spell to cast and then she could go back to her dormitory and figure out her plans for the next day. She knew she was started to get tired, though if it was from the spell casting or the time, she was unsure. Shaking her head once to clear it, she waved her wand a few times as if asking it what maneuver it preferred, then in a clear voice used the spell, "Mucus ad Nauseam!" having adjusted to the sensation, she felt the spell leave her wand. She could count the seconds in between before she felt it again. The moment it hit him, the ache the spell caused was reflected onto Amelia, causing her to stumble and gasp, leaning forward.

[[ Um I'm a little confused as to what just happened there. You cast the spell and instead of the effects hitting me, they bounced off me and hit you? ]]

User Image((I'm sorry. You're right. I probably should have either waited for you to go on so you knew it hit Kenneth and then responded to the sensation or had a paragraph for you to understand. I suppose this will be the latter. Sing approved it with my acceptance entry as well as with my profile. She wanted a little more information on it, but she looked it up and understood. Right now, she's simply empathic, as such she can feel others emotions, nothing physical, which is why the other spells were fine; only emotions. She can't hear thoughts, though she can guess by people's moods what they think of her. She describes it as an energy that every living thing has, plants and animals included. With each person the energy is unique, while with plants and animals they are similar. She believes it is the difference of these that creates a being and a beast. The change, she thinks, is thought for animals can still feel emotions. If there is something you disagree with, just ask and I'll either try to clarify it, change it or as Sing about it. Depending on what it is.))

She probably should have thought about it. Anyone who was remotely sick had effected her before. 'Bad' might not have been a clear or descriptive feeling, but none the less it was an emotion. The empath wasn't expecting the spell to reciprocate back to her. It was more the surprise than the beginning of the ache that caused her to bend forward.

The spell left Amelia's wand and hit Kenneth in the chest, immedently he felt like he had been hit by a bag of bricks. He started to sneeze and cough loudly, aching all over as the spell lingered. He tried to take a step forward but felt extremely weak, and dropped to one knee. "Ugh this spell really sucks" he managed to groin out. Somehow he found the strength to concentrate, pointing his wand at himself he muttered "Finite." Immediately he felt like the world had been lifted off his shoulders, the coughing and sneezing stopped and his strength return to him.

[[ I saw that in your join request, like i said in the Great Hall I tend to read everyone's JR that I can see. That way I get a better understanding of them before they start posting in the guild. I was a little iffy about the whole empathic thing, as its not really a magical ability that JK actually described. But its up to Sing in the end to decide what she will allow. You post threw me off since it appeared that you where saying that I had cast a shield charm causing your spell to bounce back at you before I cast it. Now I know you meant that you where sensing my uneasiness about the effects of the spell. ]]

User Image((As a small note, my actual join request is here, since as I was waiting, I read through your complains, suggestions and ideas thread and saw 0-Azula-0 complaining about others becoming metamorphmagi as she preferred to be one. But you're right; if you wanted me to change it you probably should have brought it up earlier. There are people here whose history is from Lord of the Rings, Goddess Callysto is an elf and J.K. Rowling didn't have elves excluding the house elves to the best of my knowledge. At least it's considered a magical ability, and its easily balanced out. Unless of course you believe that Amelia is all powerful. But really, if you have any problem with me, I'd prefer if you told me. I know that I make a terrible amount of typos because I usually post when I'm not feeling well and that my style needs work, but I can't really fix them if you don't tell me what bothers you. Admittedly I probably wouldn't do the same, but that's simply because you probably wouldn't appreciate it. If you would like the same done for yourself, simply ask and I will try my best. Honesty can be difficult for me, since I am conscientious of others sensitivity. Also, my last sentence did say "the moment it hit him" which I thought was clear enough; I am sorry that it was not clear for you.))

Amelia wrapped her arms around herself, straightening carefully.
"I'm sorry." she apologized, though she wasn't sure how to explain. She'd been warned to hide her secret ability, but not told from who. Were teachers alright to tell? Or only those who were her friends? Up until that moment she just hadn't told anyone since she was warned. It'd been easier that way. Still, Amelia felt something probably should fill the silence. Wondering if she'd regret it, she cleared her face and nodded to him, "Thank you for staying after with me; I'm sorry to take up all your time." It wasn't complete bs, all of what she said was true, it simply completely avoided the topic. Giving him a quick wave, the girl turned on her heel, hopping down from the stage as she went to leave.

"You have nothing to apologize for my dear, you just performed the spell like was assigned." Seeing as Kenneth had now gotten Amelia up to speed on the previous assignments, he guessed it was time to depart. He flicked his wand at the pads on the floor causing them to disappear, while doing this he noticed that Amelia had hopped down from the stage and was getting ready to leave. After she thanks him for his time he said, "It was my pleasure, after all I'm here to help educate my fellow up and coming witches and wizards. Have a good rest of the evening and I'll see you in class and perhaps around the castle later."

[[ I know about Call and Kage both of them are half-breeds, as well as Azula's concern that some gifts are unique and it would be weird if half the school had those abilities. Personally I would rather people stuck with cannon, but like I said before its up to Sing to decide what she will and will not allow into the RP. I'm not upset about the non-cannon abilities, it just leaves the possibility that some people would take advantage and try to make there OC more powerful than they actually would be considering there year that's all. ]]

User Image((Well, like I said, if you think that my character has too much power, please tell me and I will try to fix it. I agree the entire school shouldn’t be gifted with special abilities, but when I created my character I didn’t realize there was someone with weaker abilities than I. Though she isn’t going to expound on it until later, Heart (in her profile) can sense emotions as well. I didn’t know what to do, so I decided not to change my ability, as she hasn’t used hers yet, and our interpretations can be different. If you truly have a problem with me; just tell me now so I can just drop your class and we won’t have to bother with each other.))

Amelia turned catching the word. He’d used his fellow up and coming witches and wizards. Fellow. She’d never had a teacher who’d include themselves as a possible student. She looked at him, but was unsure of his age, as he simply looked big to her. She refrained from prying however, simply giving him a nod, before turning to leave. He definitely was a strange one. She wasn’t sure what to make of him. Figuring she had time, she focused on finding a new path to the common room, letting the intertwining hallways distract her from her thoughts.

[[ WOO hold on there, I never said I had a problem with you. I was just saying that as a whole I think that skills and abilities, and etc. should be kept within the set canon of the series in which the RP is taking place. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and I haven't tired to force mine onto you, I just simply told you what that was. You don't have to leave my class or anything, I'm not going to get all butt hurt over how some people are stepping outside the written canon of HP. ]]

User Image((I was merely double checking. I wouldn’t mind if you did; I would simply try to separate us as much as possible. I’m glad you’re willing to tell me your opinion honestly. Just as I would be if you admitted any dislike of me. I agree that we should follow Harry Potter as much as possible; but that trend has already been broken, character abilities excluded. First and second years are allowed to go to Hogsmeade, we lack hallways to get in trouble in, night is almost impossible even though nearly half of the adventure in J.K. Rowling’s books happen at night. Personally I’d try to work on those, and allow the possible abilities that seem reasonable enough to be a part of Hogwarts.))
