Muris had to laugh, even though she felt awful. Only Alces.
Setting the badger carefully on the ground she warned him to leave Alces alone in very quiet, very serious I'm-so-going-to-punish-you-later-for-this tones.
"I'm sorry, Alcie. Next time he'll stay in the stable." she bent down to touch the small wounds on his ankle,
"It shouldn't be too bad, though. You might want to wash it off and see Ursa in the morning..."
Now wouldn't be a good time to see Ursa. The woman had seemed to be fairly asleep the last time Muris had got a look at her.
She leaned over to kiss Alces gently after straightening. It was getting a bit late...
"I suppose I'd better go back to my room," she smiled, "It's getting late, and I know you'll need your rest...and a lack of badger."

"Oh no, I wouldn't dare bother Lady Ursa over something like this. I'll take care of it."
His foolish grin faded when she mentioned leaving, and he felt a new pain ache his heart. Now that he knew she loved him, it hurt to say goodbye, even for a moment. Still, it would not be long. He simply had to sleep away the hours until he saw her again.
Come to think of it, he was exhausted, so thankfully it wouldn't be hard. So much of what had been ailing him had now been freed, that his mind was finally at peace.
He would be asleep before he hit the pillow.
"I will come and see you tomorrow." He responded, only to leave another kiss on her lips. "Good night, my Muri."

Muris smiled, returning the kiss softly and carting the badger out,
"Goodnight, Alcie. Sleep sweet."
She would worry about taking him to see Ursa tomorrow, if it was necessary.

Even before Alces opened his eyes, he could hear the birds chirping outside. A gentle breeze floated past him, and he took a deep breath, awakening with a slow and content smile.
The world smelled lovely today.
He reached his arms out and stretched them high above his head, letting out a childish sound as his muscles pulled taut, before releasing his stretch and laying there with his arms flailed in a silly and careless position. His eyes squinted as the sun flickered playfully at him, and he moved to sit up, flipping his legs over the side of the bed.
Yes, it was a lovely day.
He closed his eyes and smiled, taking a deep breath in. Everything felt perfect.
He opened his eyes, and was disoriented by the fact that he no longer felt the bed underneath him. Furthermore, he was looking at a portrait of a butterfly on the wall nearest his bed, which he had not been facing before; but more disturbing than that was that the portrait was upside down.
He slowly tilted his head as far around as he could, looking at the portrait in confusion, before his eyes caught sight of something else.
Oh, there was his bed.
Not a second later he plumetted from the ceiling, falling headfirst onto the bed below. Alces let out a startled, muffled cry, and his body slumped forward to flop fully on the bed, stomach down.
There was an eery silence as he lay there still and dazed, wondering exactly what had just happened.
He could still hear the birds chirping mischievously outside his window, as if giggling at his misfortune. Perhaps the day was not so perfect after all.
