Nestled between the Three Wolves Mountains, lies the mighty Land of Iron. The latest histories of the Land of Iron state that:
Following the end of the Fourth Great Shinobi War, the Land of Iron was left in limbo and the Land became increasingly fragmented. Eventually the country became split along Clan lines and open war broke out between the two most powerful clans, the Minamoto and the Tokugawa. The smaller clans in the country slowly pledged their allegiance to one of the two clans, and the Great Samurai Civil War began. The beginning of the war saw little success for the Minamoto, as they were forced to leave the capital city.
Slowly however they began to win battles in the country side and whittled down the Tokugawa, whilst their own strength grew. The Civil War culminated in the siege of the capital city by the Minamoto that lasted several months before the Tokugawa finally surrendered. After the surrender of the Tokugawa, the Minamoto became the sole leaders of the Land of Iron and established the Minamoto Shogunate. Since then the Minamoto Clan has ruled over the Land of Iron with the strongest clansmen, usually also the eldest, taking the title of Shogun. Though their numbers have decreased as of late they still face no threat to their rule for the foreseeable future.
The Land of Iron to this day still trusts it's defence to the Samurai and not Ninja. As a rule Ninja have not meddled with this land as most see Samurai as better fighters then most ninja. Since Samurai and not Ninja defend this land there aren't any Hidden Villages, however there is a Samurai Academy. Anyone is allowed to enter the academy though it is tougher then any ninja academy.

As you enter the Land or Iron you must cross over the Blue Samurai Bridge, the sight of one of an early-Fourth Great Shinobi War battle. Several scares of the battle are still visible, however the large gap in the center has been repared, as a monument of sorts to the samurai who fought in the war. At the end of the Bridge lies a gate resembling a torii with the Kanji for Samurai on it. On top of the gate is a large stone statue of a sheathed Katana with weights at each end, symbolizing the strength and dedication required to take up the title of Samurai.
