Soul? What was that? She vaguely understood the concept of "passing on," so if a soul was something that separated from the body in death and then passed on...ohhh, he was talking about a "spark." Strange, but since their packs seemed to be very different, it didn't seem so strange anymore. But one other concept confused her....
"It sounds like vhat you call a soul is vhat ve call a spark," she said carefully. "Do you live in zis Soul Society? Zen...aren't you alive?" she asked in complete confusion. "I sought sparks didn't live here after deahs, and sparks of ze dead aren't very varm, so...aren't you alive?" 'Gami's life must be very confusing if he thought he was dead.

Spark? That was an interesting word--like the spark of life. It made 'Gami think of warm things. But he wasn't certain that they were the same thing. Souls didn't keep things warm--at least, he didn't think they did. Suddenly he wanted to go back to his own pack and ask his mother. She'll want to know why I'm asking though, and she'll get mad at me for leaving! But...then again...she'll be mad at me anyway. Might as well try.
At least her question was easy to answer. Sort of. "We shinigami look and feel like we're alive, but we're actually dead," he explained. "Well, I'm not a shinigami yet. But I will be, when I grow up." He leaned against Cabaret. She sounded confused, and he didn't want to make her cry again. "You see, we're really dead dragons who've been able to come back in the bodies of new dragons. The same soul, but in a different body. I think." Now that he said it, it did seem to not make much sense. Just because his old body was dead didn't mean his new body was dead...was it?
((Yeah, I'm as confused as Cabaret is xDDD))

Cabaret was as confused as ever. "I sink...I sink I should ask your mohzer about zis. Could you take me to her?" she asked helplessly. Maybe she'd also help her find her way back home. She wanted to go home...but understanding 'Gami's world took precedence for Cabaret right now. And little did she know it, but this information would be incredibly helpful in the future.

((Soundwave and Blitzy: LKAJ;SLDKJALKJH NO.))
'Gami grinned and stood up, relieved that his new friend had come up with such a good idea. "Sure!" he said with a laugh. "I'd love to introduce you to her! Come on, let's go!" He looked around at the surroundings. Yes, he had come here by climbing up the ridge, going past the scent mark, then going back down...from there, he should be able to follow the direction Rukia had been going. It wouldn't be so hard. "I'll show you the way, it isn't far," he added, and with that, he wriggled under the bushes and charged up the slope enthusiastically.
Mother will be mad at me, but I'm sure she'll forgive me--she'll probably be more concerned with helping Cabaret get home. Already he felt a strong attachment to her--well, that made sense, didn't it? After all, she was the first dragon his own age he'd ever met who wasn't a brother or sister. I hope we still get to see each other when we find her pack.

Cabaret nodded, relieved and excited they were going to meet 'Gami's mother on sooo many levels. She was unaware that she was a hollow, or that 'Gami's mother would have a minor fit when she found out about 'Gami's newfound friend. These thoughts, of course, didn't cross her mind as she charged after her new best friend. As it so happened, ever since Rukia had noticed her middle child/second son's absence about a quarter of an hour ago, she'd been tearing apart the mountainside looking for him, only being quiet because she was not in the mood to deal with any of either type of hollow today. Besides, 'Gami might be in danger, and calling out for him would put him at a severe risk. Rukia was, after all, first and foremost a mother.
Finally, she heard the scrabbling of infant paws and turned to hurry toward him, moving quickly through the underbrush. "Tategami! Tategami!" she hissed loudly, so she could pinpoint her little one's location.
She reached him and skidded to a halt as she came through a line of trees into what was commonly referred to as a fairy ring. She smiled as she saw him...and then the relief died in her eyes as she saw the black figure hurrying after him with innocent red eyes and the very distinctive red markings of a hollow.
Damn. The pack moving past the Seireitei was a pack of Decepticon hollows, the sort who the Seireitei did state had to be killed. The good news was that 'Gami seemed to be unharmed, and that the little one next to him seemed benevolent. The bad news was her family, and what would happen if they came looking for her. Damnit.
"Tategami, who's this? How did you run into her?" she asked carefully, not wanting to scare 'Gami and not wanting to provoke the infant hollow on the off-chance the term "Decepticon" was a fitting word for her. Cabaret could tell rather quickly that this must be 'Gami's mother, though she seemed very small and very beautiful, with a low voice. Smiling up at the pretty mother, making the jagged smile across her muzzle grin even more broadly, she said, "Ah, so you must be 'Gami's mohzer! I'm happy to meet you." Her eyes shone with a very real admiration.Rukia turned her violet eyes to the little hollow, her expression flabbergasted. There had to be a double meaning there...but looking at her eyes, she could tell that the little one had said it in absolute honesty. And in realizing that, pretty much all of her defenses collapsed and she made a mental exception to the kill hollows rule...just for this little one. Well, she could always hope that this one was an orphan and she had an excuse to bring home a fourth daughter. But it was proper for 'Gami to introduce her and explain, and so she waited.

Tategami didn't even notice the scent marking as he passed it--he didn't care, and had momentarily forgotten all about it. Instead, he gazed around the woods for any sign of his mother. She was hard to miss, even if she hadn't hissed his name from the underbrush: her fur shone like the moon, and he could smell her sweet scent anywhere. "Mother!" he called out, and, with a grin, led Cabaret down the leaves, almost sliding down in his enthusiasm to introduce her to his parent.
He felt a twinge, though, at his mother's tone. Rukia's voice all but said "I don't think you should be with this stranger." She'll understand once she gets to know Cabaret. Besides, she's got to meet her sometime--her pack might need protection from Hollows! "Mother, this is Cabaret--she's my friend. Her pack lives somewhere else on the other side of this hill. She can't find her way back--do you think we could help her?" He sat down next to them, hoping that Rukia would help them out. He wondered suddenly if he'd get a chance to meet Cabaret's family, or her pack. Maybe not the male that had raised her, but he certainly wanted to meet her vatis. They're probably nice like she is--no one could be that nice with bad parents, even if they don't live with their parents. "Could we help her?" he asked again, anxiously.
