Candace couldn't help but smile widely, she was ecstatic. She had found an actual person, she wasn't just hearing voices! "Of course I'll help you, Kajimie!" She crouched and groped around for his arm. Once she found it she helped him stand, but she didn't let go of his arm because she feared he would disappear... "I meant that I could actually see before I found myself in this room, all I did was step inside and POOF! Everything turned dark.. I tried to use my cellphone, but it didn't work. I think the battery died. Do you think that the others in this room have the same problem? Did something similar happen to you? Or did you just wake up in here?"

Kajimie listened intently to Candace's words. He shook his head in dismay, even though he had a feeling not even Candace could see him. Even so, it was comforting to know another person was close by. "I don't know how that would happen, but I think for now the best thing to do is try to find the others, and get out of here." He tried to sound reassuring, but he wasn't sure how they would manage that.

Candace tightened her hold on his arm in response. "What do you suggest we do? I already shouted, but I think I might have walked away from the direction of the voice I heard. I was never good at deciding where sounds were coming from..." Candace trailed off, cheeks warming in embarrassment. How were they supposed to find a way out if she couldn't even follow the sound of someone's voice? She had always relied on her sense of sight, a sense that had been taken from her.

Alie took three more steps toward the voice that replied. "Candace, I'm Alie," she said as she reached her arms out. Her fingertips brushed someone's arm.

Kajimie patted Candace's shoulder. "Don't worry. I think I may know which direction the voice came from. If you grow up without relying on sight, you learn to use your other senses to get around. Now we need to listen for the voice--," Before Kajimie could finish his sentence, he heard a voice from almost directly beside him. "Candace, I'm Alie," it said. Moments later Kajimie felt the sensation of fingertips brushing against his arm. He reached out and gently grabbed the girl's arm as he said, "Don't worry Alie, I'm Kajimie and this is Candace. We're glad you found us."

Candace bit her lip, an action that stopped her from bombarding people with random questions. She needed to focus, she could always ask Kajimie questions later. Why had he stopped talking? Any replies she had had abruptly died in her throat when she heard a slightly familiar voice reply with, "Candace, I'm Alie." Followed by Kajimie's, "Don't worry Alie, I'm Kajimie and this is Candace. We're glad you found us."
"Yeah, super glad!" Candace said excitedly, before Alie had a chance to reply. They had found another person!
