Her mother had always told her to keep a good eye. Of course, this was most impossible to do when sleeping, and unfortunately Ame had a kind heart towards her only pokemon. An Eevee of dark blues and purples. But that morning when she awoke, she hadn't expected NOT to find said Eevee, known as Blue, not in his spot above her head on her pillow. She sat up slowly, blinking the sleep from her eyes, looked over to the pillow, and sighed. She figured this day would come, and also scolded herself for not making the Eevee sleep in it's pokeball. But really... who'd want to sleep in that cramped little thing? Not her, that's for sure. She really was too kind of heart... she sighed and stood. There was a sweet smell floating out in the hall, she noticed when she pulled the door open further so she could step out into the hall. So she took to following that, in hopes that maybe, is where Blue ran towards....

Of course this led her to a stair case. Looking for an Eevee and taking an elevator was out of the question, as with her luck she'd miss the little bugger.

Floor two... going... down.

An Eevee would appear on that staircase, but it wouldn't be blue, that's for sure. At first, it appeared like a dark color in the shadows of the stairwell around the corner, perhaps hyping up a bit of excitement that maybe, maybe Ame found her Blue. But as that Eevee moved into the circle of luminescence brought on by one of the overhead lights, it would be notable that the darkness was mud. Mud splattered all over an obviously trained, foul-mooded silver-hued little Eevee.

He didn't appear to have a trainer with him, simply wandering up the stairs, however he did seem to have a destination in mind. The way he moved was sneaky, almost stealthy really, keeping to the far edge, right along the wall. Even then, he was careful to keep from rubbing his dirty little self along the wall for care of not rubbing the mud from his fur off and leaving a noticable trail behind him. His paw steps were feline-like as well- so quiet, so cautious as if worried of squeaking a floorboard beneath his tiny self. Who might train an Eevee to act in such a way? It was odd, but very specific, and honed in obviously for a long time.

"Vee..." It commented as it noted Ame, laying its long ears back as it looked up at her, and pausing in its current path of travel up the long staircase.

How many Eevees was there in this place? Ame asked herself - no, grumbled soundlessly, seeing the silver hued one, covered in mud. Ame paused in her search to kneel on the stair she was standing on and holding out a morsel of the pokefood she'd been using to lure her Eevee out of it's hiding place, to the Eevee that obviously wasn't hers. This one seemed to be in a foul mood and wondered why it was covered in mud.

A common creature, indeed, for Rockets who could manipulate their genetic structure to any means they deemed necessary. It made them useful. And they were practically pocket-sized. Shove it in a pokeball or backpack, and you're good to go. This shiny eevee, though, didn't hold the same generally adorable or gleefully mischievious personality that most did. As Ame reached out with that morsel of pokefood, that cute little 'vee' sound curled into a very angry, very low growl-like rrrrrreeeee.... The fur along its spine bristled, and its back arched somewhat like a cat's. Tiny needle teeth showed past curled lips, and fox-like bushy tail swished violently once.

Not friendly. At all.

Right behind the Eevee, a pair of soft-sold sandles appeared. Attached to said sandles was a very strangely dressed character. Well, not strange to her. It's how she grew up and all she knew. Her outfit screamed ninjitsu, from her cloth-like pants, streamline shirt, and long cape that wrinkled up around the neck and chin to hide the majority of her face, save her wicked yellow-gold eyes. Long brown-black hair, too, was tied up in a spikey, messy bun. A sword was tied at her waist, various other weapons- like kunai blades, etc, also held their place where most would wear pokebelts. Rin was silent until she was noticed, having arrived as quietly and stealthily as the Eevee had.

Harsh eyes watched Ame for a long silent moment, though her posture itself wasn't entirely hostile. Not yet anyway. Eventually, she spoke, "Couldn't sleep?" Voice was about as friendly as her dress code and the Eevee that remained bristled in front of her.

Ame, upon hearing the voice dropped the piece of food before the Eevee, to look upon whom she assumed was the Silver Eevee's master. Ame shrugged, "Suppose so," she answered, "my own Eevee decided upon itself it would explore our new home."

Ame didn't smile, but held her place. These people might be Team Rocket, but she wasn't afraid of them, no way. She crossed her arms infront of her chest. "Sorry? Am I in your way?"

Rin would smile, but it wouldn't matter whether she did or didn't with the black mask that obscured her face. The immediate defensiveness the girl took on was amusing to her, mostly because she hadn't intended to set her on edge. She just naturally wasn't very welcoming, and her harsh eyes were a product of life experiences thus far.

"In my way? That would be assuming I have a way that I'm going." Her voice seemed to come from an unmoving face, and it remained rough and unpleasant, even though the words weren't exactly 'mean' in any way. Just weird. And not exactly an answer.

The silver Eevee quit bristling when Ame dropped the food, and backpedaled before turning and curling itself between Rin's soft-sandled feet. The girl herself was unmoving, but she didn't stand in the way of the entire staircase. Deftly, she had positioned herself nearer the left wall than the right, allowing Ame passage should she rather scurry by than deal with the wayward ninja.

"Winds can change quickly, storms are often unpredictable. If you lose sight of what's precious it might get swept away." Did we already say weird? But her forewarning was a serious one, if stated in a random chain of somewhat unconnected adjectives. This was the last place you'd ever want to lose track of your pokemon.

Ah. What a truth. Ame nodded. "Just wandering then. I wish I was just casually wandering, then looking for a wayward Eevee." Ame sighed, stepping around the ninja-Rocket, before turning around again, facing her. "Er. I'm Ame by the way. New... obviously."

Good thing it was dark, but, she was sure that wouldn't the the coloring of her cheeks.

Rin watched Ame with an unrevealing gaze, though one might think it's thoughtful, or simply examining. Another one of those awkward silences passed, though to the oddly dressed, oddly acting Rocket, it didn't seem awkward at all. "All storms have a path, sometimes predictable, sometimes not." The shiney Eevee backed up a few paces, then lept up, using its tiny claws to dig into Rin's black cape to pull himself up to her shoulder. Mud-tinted, silvery fox-like tail curled around her neck as he settled in an apparently normal spot upon her shoulders. He better enjoy this now. Her purpose tonight if weather permits is actually a very specific one, and he's the eye of the storm.

"I am Rin." Finally, a straight-forward response. "I am.. somewhat new, as well I suppose." She noted that slowly, considering that concept with an odd interest as if unsure how to classify herself. Her experience in theivery, sneaking around, all those normal ninja-like things is high, but her time as an enlisted Rocket has been brief, and not very notable with how often she keeps to herself and to the shadows. Not yet anyway.

"Your lost companion is close to you, or upon the fringes of your radar?" If Ame is relatively good with these consistent weather-related metaphores, Rin's trying to see if her Eevee is a new partner or an old reliable one that wouldn't just run away. "The currents have taken a few to the galley. My Kou is there now."

A sad smile crossed Ame's face. "Blue is... I've had him a little over a year now. We're still building our relationship. But he gets distracted sometimes, and just follows his heart... or his nose. He normally comes back, but, this is just such a big place, who knows where he got himself into. I just hope he stayed out of peoples way."

A lighthearted laugh was emitted here, but then a sigh as Ame scratched the back of her head. "He normally does stay close by me. Heh." Maybe there was purpose in this chase, after all, it was getting her out of her room, where she normally preferred to stay, or in the computer labs; working away on laptops.

Rin considered this for awhile, lapsing into silence without much forethought of needing to keep up a conversation. "The winds often carry those unsuspecting into different directions, but where they may land will always lead them to the right place." The angry little Eevee on her shoulder bobbed his head as if he agreed, and then the ninja-dressed Rocket turned and headed back down the steps.

She intended Ame to follow, and whether the girl didn't or not, as long as she didn't return to her room, they would be headed in generally the same direction. The way Rin was headed was the kitchens, where someone was up late this particular night cooking something that smelled awfully delicious.

A vaporeon strode out of the kitchen entryway, its coloration quite different. It looked like it had been out in a downpour, some torrential rain, and each droplet had stained its otter-like fur darker and darker shades of blue.

"Kou, did your clouds lead you true?" The ninja knelt, a hand touching the vaporeon's head lightly in greeting.

"Pooor." Was the answer, and a darkly stained tongue licking over the water 'veelution's tiny muzzle.

"It is nearly time for Nails to join you, my friend, among the darkening clouds. We will soon make ready our plans to unleash upon the rest." Her voice had turned into a dark whisper, grave yet exilerated in tone. When she stood, her gold eyes searched back for Ame, wondering perhaps if she too had followed to see if her Blue had satisfied a late night snack craving like her Kou had, or perhaps if he had gone even further than this. A dangerous choice that may have been.

"Have you perhaps an idea where your search leads?"

Following Rin, she barely stopped in time when she had stopped to talk to a Vaporeon that crossed their path. Ame stared for half-a-second at the darker color Vaporeon, a sad smile crossing her lips. She liked the 'Veelutions, but liked her Eevee much better, so it was probably never going to cross her mind, the want to evolve her Blue.

"And idea... hmm... a gut feeling tells me to at least start in the kitchen." She smiled and nodded.
PostPosted: Tue Oct 05, 2010 1:11 pm

The Vaporeon walked lightly much like the little Eevee did, but it was more apparent that the Eevee had more training than the 'veelution simply by the way he clung to Rin's shadows and moved how she moved; as if connected in some submolecular way that couldn't be seen from the surface. Rin's mysterious surface was being relatively nice in this situation. Unknown to Ame, perhaps, this was a rarity. Ame had no reason to suspect Rin of anything good nor bad, thus the ninja-esque Rocket had no need to shadow herself as much as per normal.

Besides, a free mind to talk about her storms to. What better audience could there be.

"There are many within. The eye of the storm is calm yet exciting." A hand waved broadly in the direction of the kitchen that they were just now upon- from which the Vaporeon had come. It was ironic Ame's thoughts were leaning that way, as Rin's mission this very storm-wrought night was to bring her little Eevee into the midst of it lightning and let him feel its power. But her patience would wait in tide with the building storm, to accompany this other Rocket on her curious adventure.

Kyo turned and slinked- much like a cat- back into the group feasting in the kitchen, melting into the group as if she'd never left. Curious trio, these storm-loving fiends. One could only wonder if there were more, knowing that there are indeed more parts of a storm than rain and (soon to be) lightning.
