Zet just noticed that if old pokes don't show up in the new region what does the old rod do?
Which pokemon is now meant to be the fail poke D=
Zet is going to miss magikarp.

Zet is going to miss magikarp. You're right. Though they also said that no characters from previous games are to exist in Isshu, though both Looker and Cynthia are confirmed to appear within the game.

no Magikarp...but I love training Magikarps, because it takes a lot of work and you get a cool Pokemon in the end. crying

*Spoiler*Somewhere on Serebii I read that you get the Fishing Rod after you beat the E4. So perhaps there is no progression of rods, adn the only one you get is post-E4, so Magikarp is still fishable. As long as you can fish.*Spoiler*
Another thing: no Golbat-fested caves or Tentacool-saturated waters. I assume they are simply replaced with the new bat and jellyfish, though.

I sure hope they don't get replaced with other annoying pokemon.

looking at the Dex, I'm figuring that the 5th gen Magikarp'll be Shibishirasu. It's pretty gimp in its first stage, doesn't learn more than the moves it starts with, and evolves at level 39.

THANK EFFING GOD, I grew way tired of geodudes and zubats in EVERY game's cave Though I will miss the existence of old pokemon

Sorry about resurrecting this topic but Apparently they are removing the great and old rod entirely and just using the super rod. Honestly that's how I trained my speed Ev's in Heart Gold and Soul Silver. -_-
