" I need one" Riley declared as she stared into the soft brown eyes of a baby cow. It was black and white and not much bigger than her yet, plus it look soft. Despite reaching through the bars that separated her from the animal The bunny girl couldn't quite reach her target to test her theory. Still it was a fluffy and Riley loved them more than anything else in the world. "Please can I have it?."
Perry laughed and shook his head " No Riley you can't have a calf, we're not zoned for livestock." Not that that was the only reason or even the most pertinent one but it was true. That and it shifted the blame of denial from himself to some faceless lawmaker. The young man might believe in setting rules and boundaries for the twins but he also understood their childish whims and hated having to say know just for practicality's sake.
Cole ignored his father and sister for the moment and instead took in the layout of the barn they were in. It was one of the first place you could enter at the sprawling country fair and like nothing the blue eyes boy had ever seen. There was concrete walkway down the middle of it and on one side were pens of baby animals nestled in golden straw and on the other bigger versions of them being touched funny. The boy wasn't sure what to make out it although now his back tentacles were attempting to do the same thing to the ones that made up his hair.
Graham didn’t really have a plan for this little trip he’d decided to take. He’d just wanted to get away from the camp for a while and spend a little of the money he’d earned recently. Regular stores and malls bored him and offered things he could always get by stealing. This though, this fair was something entirely foreign and delightful to the rainbow haired boy. He’d balked a little at the price to get in but so far he hadn’t been disappointed in the things he’d seen. Rabbits with huuuuuge ears, geese that laid real gold eggs and actual bulls you could ride on! This was stuff you couldn’t see every day and graham was making the most of his wandering, currently having found himself in line to milk a cow. He was excited and just a little nervous, what if it felt weird?

THING had come to this section of the fair alone, due to the the rest of its party all running off in separate directions. As such, the tot was just wandering to wherever looked interesting. And at present, that was the barn with the line.
The white plush eventually ended up walking into the back of a very rainbow boy, and blinked up at him, not really concerned. "What's going on here?"

Graham just sort of stared at the girl, boy, thing that had collided with him. It was sort of cute, sort of scary but mostly just weird. Still. It had asked a question and it would be wrong not to answer. "Milking a cow," he explained "Because most people never have, and then you can try the milk." Which Graham still wasn't sure about. He wasn't the pickiest eater but warm milk right out of a cow was sort of strange. "There's lines for goats and stuff too." Although who wanted to drink goat milk he had no idea, they ate garbage, he'd seen his mother's arm do that before.
Further down the barn the Steinmen family was slowly making it's way down the line of baby animal pens. They'd switch to the side with the adults waiting to be milked when they were done. Every now and again Riley would give a soft squeal and Cole would murmurer " ew" when a baby did something weird like lick it's own nose.

"Oh." THING!'s reply was short and followed by a small nod. Getting milk from a goat sounded interesting. Thing had never seen a goat before anyway.
After a bit, it looked over to the side the tentacled people were on. "What's over there?" it asked. Of course, THING! was thinking about the pens, not really concerned with the other children - it'd seen weird kids before - but the way she pointed almost seemed to be at the twins. They had tentacles after all.

Graham's orange and blue eyes followed the path of the strange thing's arm over to where her fingers indicated something of interest. He stared for a moment before answering the question posed to him. " Those are baby animals and weird umm squid people." Yep baby animals and squid people, Graham was sure of it.
It was Cole who noticed the attention that had been drawn to him and the normally more reclusive toddler stumbled forward and other to the line where the other children were. "Hi" The single word was soft and issued with a small smile, there was something really interesting about the white skinned um girl before him. Unlike Ama/amano they weren't animal life or really fluffy but something had drawn Cole to her anyways.
Riley, upon noticing that her brother was gone grabbed her father's hand and began to drag him to where she'd spotted Cole. They couldn't lose him here he might get eaten by baby animals!

THING! nodded at the terming of them as 'squid people'. Squids had tentacles, right? It'd seen those on the discovery channel. Squids were bit sea monstery things. Maybe these were like Amelia, who had a horn cause she was a horse. The other item didn't sound nearly as interesting - baby animals were nothing compared to squid people and milking goats.
"Hello. Are you a squid?" THING! asked, pointing to Cole's tentacles. "Can you turn into a squid and eat things in the ocean, or do you just have the funny leg things?" The question was meant harmlessly and said in a curious tone, the gold eyed plush looking at Cole intently.
As Riley came up too, THING! looked at her intently as well. "Are you a squid too?"
