Once long ago this land served as one of the largest battlefeilds in a long war ladened history. The grand encounter clashed two forces togerther that had acumulated so many soldiers that lasted tell the battle was named "The Bloody Decade" Now all that is left is a forest, growing atop the corpses of bodies now turned to earth in their decay. Once there was a tower, sprouting above the men at war, now all that remains of it is an old well, now as deep as the tower was once tall. The land has been built high with the bones of those past, seeming as if it were no more than normal land aside from its rising cliffs jutting from the ground. The haunted grounds are now defended by those ghosts whom were forced to be buried amongst their enemies.

The Count Of Monte Cristo

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Count took to resting on his long voyage to explore. He figured he would need all of his energy should he arrive in a hostile place but what came, no man could prepare for. His rest was disturbed when a large stone broke through his quarters. The rock pierced the deck and continued through. He heard a massive argument outside. He didn't have much of a choice. He rolled out of his bed and ran over to his sword grabbing it and his coat. He put both on then left his quarters only to be met by a shaking ship. The entire crew was hanging onto the railing. Then The Count saw why. He quickly grabbed onto his door as his feet began to slide. The door held him in place. His ship had seeming crashed into a cliff but there was no way to tell how. Maybe high tide lowered quickly but even that was a long shot. It was more like his ship had been thrown by the sea.
The Count look at his crew then up towards the top of the cliff. The ship had been impaled on a large rock sticking out of the cliff. "Start climbing men!" The count ordered. "Be careful if the ship falls we all die!" The Count took his advice and began trying to get onto the cliff itself. He heard a scream and turned to see what was happening. One of the rails was braking. To much weight was on it. The Count grabbed the end just as the other side broke off. He tried to hold but the weight truly was to much. The rail broke again sending some of the crew to their death. There was no sea bellow them only land. That scared him even more.
He shook his head slowly and whispered a few words for the dead. Then he continued to climb. In a matter of minutes the remained of the crew and him were climbing the cliff. It was rather large. Then the cliff began to break. Crew began falling rapidly. He tried to help one but then fell himself. The Count was wiser. he drew his sword and stabbed it into the wall then held on. Once everything was settled he began to climb again. Alone now. He had lost his entire crew and his ship had been destroyed.
When he finally reached the top he was met by a thick fog. He didn't know how long he laid there before moving into the land but it was at least three hours. He finally stood and began walking holding his sword behind him. The fog remained as thick as it was when he reached the top. When he finally reached a clearing he took in a deep breath of the air and looked around "Dantes!" He heard a voice shout behind him and he turned rapidly drawing his sword. the man he saw frightened him.
"Mondego..." The Count whispered taking a few steps back. He had killed this man. He remembered very moment so how was he here. "Why are you doing this to me?"
"It's complicated..." Montego replied as he drew his sword and stepped forward. The Count took a step forward and slashed across Mondego's chest only to have the man vanish. He was never really there. This only frightened The Count more. He moved around running as far as he could anywhere he could. He never found an end to the cliffs. Then he ran back to where he had arrived. He looked over the edge to his ship and turned hearing the same voice. This time he did not only see Mondego he saw his wife. The Count took a step back falling off the cliff. He could feel then end coming and he spread his arms. He closed his eyes and it ended.
The Count woke with a start sitting up in his chambers. He got out of his bed and ran to check on his crew. They were all there "Captain, should we continued sailing or stop here?" One of the men asked. The Count looked p at the island and placed his hand on his sword.
"Keep sailing..." The Count replied going back into his quarters. He sat at his desk holding back tears but one managed to escape his power and it rolled down his cheek. He missed his wife. He had lost her, at his old home. when the plague came through. It hit everyone but him. His wife, his son. Everyone. So close to after he had taken his revenge. The dream still startled him. Why was it that the land in his dream was the same as the land they had sailed past. He would never learn. He simply sat back holding in the tears as he sailed onward.
