BANNERMABOBPLZ

    about packs

A pack is a group of Krokotas who have banded together for companionship, and to increase their odds of survival. Krokotas are highly sociable creatures, and have a complex hierarchy structure that starts not long after being born. Packs are often formed by friends or family, but sometimes complete strangers bond together in order to survive. Packs are led by a Chief, who can be male or female; as such, packs tend to be either patriarchal or matriarchal. Forming the main body of the pack are unranked adults, who perform the greatest variety of tasks. Those who are particularly talented are often granted the honor of a ranked status, to Knight or Hunter. In very large packs, there are often the very distinguished Lead Knight and Lead Hunter, who oversee their respective ranked brethren, and act as a go-between for their followers and the Chief. There is a very clear-cut hierarchy within a pack that all members are aware of; even within the unranked adults, there are those who are more favored by the Chief than others, and as such, hold sway over those below them.

It is common to have several pairs of mates within larger packs, and during plentiful times, surprise litters from a female without an official mate can happen. These pairings often take place between two Krokotas within the same pack, as mating with a member from another pack (especially a rival pack) could invite death for the mother and her pups. Krokotas typically mate for life, so official unions are not looked upon lightly.

Rogues and Nightwalkers are never members of a pack, as they have been corrupted by dark spirits. They would never want to join a pack, and a pack would never want to have them around. Rogues are too violent and unpredictable, and the fabled Nightwalkers leave only death and destruction in their wake.

Outcasts often linger on the edge of a pack’s land, waiting for an opportunity to prove themselves to the Chief, and become accepted within the pack. Even once they are officially accepted into the pack, it can take awhile for them to truly find their stride and be personally accepted by all the members. Having to work their way up from the very bottom,

Shamans are a peculiar rank of Krokotas. They are not a lone rank, as the unsavory Outcasts, Rogues, and Nightwalkers, but neither are they a pack rank. While some Shamans do belong to a pack and live with them, most are travelers between the packs, and are welcomed by all. Shamans bring with them good fortune, and are able to help the sick and injured.

creating a pack

User Image packs must have a chief.
Also acceptable: the Chief can be customed (through a full-custom or a rank-custom), or a pack member who has an active Chief quest (must be completed within three months of being granted official pack status). An "active Chief quest" is as simple as having a Quest Journal dedicated to one of your Krokotas getting the rank of Chief. Easy-peasy.
User Image besides the chief, packs must have at least three other members, at least one of which must be an adult.
It does not matter if the Krokotas are owned by multiple people, or just one person.
User Image there must be at least three rps among the various pack members showing the desire to create a pack together.
Each RP does not have to have all pack members present, but most pack members should participate in at least one RP.

joining a pack

User Image to join a pack, please consult the pack’s subforum and follow their rules.
User Image generally, a roleplay is required.
Maybe about wandering the outskirts of the pack’s land observing, or perhaps with a pack member.

    active packs

User Image packs get their very own subforum in the guild – free of charge – when granted official pack status.
User Image pack subforums must have a post (or posts) showing their location, their pack members, and general pack rules.
How to join, how to leave, marriages, etc.
User Image packs need a place to live.
Consult the (future) map and pick your neighbors carefully!
User Image you are allowed to edit the store’s map to show your pack’s location.
The mule will be more than happy to provide a large image of your island, and even edit the picture for you!
User Image packs need a simple symbol to represent them in the pack listing, as well as on the cert.
You can also incorporate it into RP (border markings, Knights’ paint, etc.)
User Image at least one rp must be completed by any pack member every three months.
The RP can be a solo one. If there is no activity for three months, pack status will be changed to “Inactive,” and the Chief will be notified. If there is no activity for another three months, the pack will be disbanded.
