On the day the sky fell, there should have been nothing left to be surprised about. There was plenty of material predicting the Apocalypse in circulation, after all, with monstrosities and aliens so unbelievable that one could read about them and still sleep peacefully at night. The beasts that began to appear that day were beings of the same sort.

“Alien invasion.”
“Evangelion.”
“Foreigners’ conspiracy!”
“It’s the end of the world.”
“Bull.”
At this, the petulant gaggle of girls turned to google indignantly at her.
“You’re no fun, Setsu. Besides, it can’t have been nothing. The news made such a big deal of it, after all. They’ve even got the army setting up perimeters.”
She shrugged. “I just don’t believe it. A monster? None of us saw one up close.”

The next sign that all wasn’t well with the world (other than the reports of missing panda carts) came in the form of a creature much larger than all the others, dropping onto a building near the heart of the city and crushing the roof into the topmost floor. As people shrieked and milled about in panic, TV crewmen came as close as they could get. As live video footage played on the transparent touch-TV screen, Setsu’s friends nudged her smugly. See?

Setsu watched a boy and a girl bicker as they walked down the schoolyard steps. Truth be told, there was nothing really interesting about them. He was Amamiya Tetsu, and she was Yuki- as for her surname, no one knew. Amamiya was known to be a boy of few words, while Yuki was quite the opposite. They were often seen sitting together in secluded corners of the school yard. At first glance, she would have guessed that Yuki liked Amamiya. But she seemed much more interested in Amamiya’s bike than the boy himself. The two were habitually classified as the school weirdoes. Yes, there was probably little to no value in noticing them (but god, having someone else’s name rhyme with hers was oh-so-awkward).

Oohhhh Cencoroll! I tried to watch the anime a while ago but got so confused as to who was who I abandoned it and just read the wiki instead :sweatL

I like the start of this though. Setsu is your OC though, correct?

Can't wait to see where this goes!

“Yo,” said Shuu.
“Goodbye,” said Setsu.

As a rule, Setsu never talked to strange stalker kids. Ever. It was plain disturbing to talk to one, mostly because you never knew what they were going to do. This was especially the case with Shuu Whatshisname, who seemed to love talking about Yuki, or Amamiya, or both for some inexplicable and very strange reason.

“Wait up, I said!”

Setsu abruptly jerked back, choking on her schoolbag strap as Shuu grabbed hold of it. “HEY. Help, this guy is sexually harassing me!”

“Shut up, the other kids will hear-”

“Sexual harassment.”

“Ignoramus.”

“Molester.”

“Name caller.”

“Game.”

“WHAT!?”

“You heard me.”

“Alright, alright.” Thoroughly cowed, Shuu let go. “You didn’t have to go that far.”

Noting the curious stares of students leaning out of the school windows to witness said “sexual harassment,” Setsu decided that the trouble had been worth it. As a rule, Setsu never talked to strange stalker kids - ever- but sometimes she figured she could make an exception.

I lost the game.

LOL. This was great work though. Funny.

Nice circular structure as well. And I can completely see the scene playing out. :3
