Whats a sight to a sightless man, or a beautiful melody to a deaf man. About the same as thunder to a sport horse. Passed from owner to owner for being a hand too small Niagara was just that... a blind man wishing to see, or a deaf man who's son wrote the most marvelous music piece.
Niagara stomped her foot. She frowned. No thunder. Her mother was a small paint and her father a large Clydesdale. And what was she? Nothing. She tossed her head giving one good look around the open fields. Her home was here and there...no where in particular and as such she roamed...a lot. She was in the open right now, Miles of grass spanned about her.
"And what's on the agenda today?" She overturned a rock to watch the little insects run for cover. She let out a sigh and plopped down. She rolled to her side and stayed there... a horses version of playing dead?

Cain watched her curiously from behind a small rise. She seemed like such a strange mare. And she didn't appear to know what she was doing. For whatever reason he could not imagine. It was perfectly pleasant out today. A perfect day to graze and frolic. He personally wasn't grazing or frolicking but that didn't mean she shouldn't be.
He shook his head and huffed. Well nothing to do with her but say hello he supposed. She would after all see him eventually. There was little cover unless you ran three miles. He trudged up the rise and stood there. Hoping she'd see him before he made his greeting. That was when she rolled over and lied on her back.
He turned his head sideways and tried to fathom why she'd be laying like that. There wasn't a dust pit or mud hole for miles. Not that one would need one. The flies weren't bugging too badly.

Niagara flicked her ears in the grass. It was going to be a long day. She snorted. Rolling back to her feet she wobbled a moment and then turned to stare directly into the face of another horse. She blinked and snorted again.
Deciding in half a moment that it was the only thing to be done. She addressed the Stallion. "Im not crazy..."
Her gaze was flat. She blinked.

He blinked at her. What a strange greeting. Strange mare even. "I didn't say you were. I know crazy. Trust me." He shifted on his back hooves and swished his long brown tail, trying to create a pause in the conversation. "You are?" And why are you rolling in the grass? But he didn't voice the last part.

She blinked again. "Alright... as long as you don't think i am." She nodded her head and flipped her tail looking at the stallion. She flicked her ear. She was now lost. She swayed back and forth thinking slightly.
"Im Niagara," She waited for his name but before he could say anything she nodded. "Its great to meet you."

What kind of response was that for a civil horse? She was more than a tad boggling. He couldn't decided if she was cold, friendly or aloof. Not just quite yet. "It's not that I don't think you are. I just don't believe I know you well enough to make such assumptions. Not that I'm not bat s**t insane. Get me anywhere near moon herd territory and I turn into a different horse. You however...well I just don't know." He tried to grin winningly and pretend he hadn't just rambled. "Caineach by the way. Cain for short."

Insane...Flighty... eh..who cared about a difference. So he was just saying that he was a bit too nice to judge a book by its cover. "Thats really...nice?...of you" She nodded as he said his name. "So the moon herd huh?" She flicked her tail.
She had heard there were herds around here... the one she heard the most about was the hell herd though... She flicked her ears. "So what brings you to this lovely piece of land?"

He blinked quietly as she questioned him and then turned his head upside down so he could look at her face while he talked. "Not so much nice as a survival technique. You're not rotting all over that place therefore I can't judge by appearances if you're all there. And aye...the moon herd....but can we not talk about that too much?" He didn't want her to assume anything about him too early.
"I'm just here. I went for a walk to graze and see. One dosen't always have to have a reason for everything. Just like how I don't think you have reason for laying there in a heap." He goggled at her and continued to look at her upside down.

Niagara stared up at the stallion. How rude... She huffed and pushed herself to her feet to shake the dirt from her back. "I was just trying to be friendly." She snorted and stomped a foot into the dirt.
Niagara had to bite her tongue. She didn't know what to make of the stallion in front of her... He was very blunt... And she didn't know what to make of that. No one ever was blunt with her... they always made life fluffy and safe... she blinked and smirked. "Guess your right."

He righted his head and blinked twice. First she'd acted angry and now she was smiling. He had no idea what to think of it....so he tried a different tactic. "Was there something I could potentially help you with Niagara? I ask because you seemed....dreamy....there on the grass."
