XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX Braidon's eyes went wide with fear and he quickly clamped both of his hands tightly over his mouth. He'd done it. He'd said too much. The little boy let out a strangled sort of whine, shaking his head. He hadn't meant to talk to the shrink. He didn't want this man to know anything about him. He wasn't going to talk to anybody. Braidon stumbled backwards a few steps. "N-no one." He lifted his hands from his mouth in order to speak in a raspy voice, "Daniel's my brother." The small boy replied, shaking his head again, "But thats all I'm saying."

✎ Engel Ransties ✍ "Your brother?" Engel repeated with a nod while placing his chin in his palm. "It's good that you have such a close bond with your brother then. I have a brother. We don't talk much though."

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX The little boy wavered on his feet slightly and took a staggering step forward as he temporarily lost his balance. Truly, Braidon was just so tired and weak lately that standing for any extended period of time was difficult for him. Once he had steadied himself, Braidon dropped to the floor, sitting cross-legged and staring into his lap now, still avoiding the man's gaze. "I really don't talk to anyone much." He replied.

✎ Engel Ransties ✍ "I know what you mean. I never talked to many people either when I was your age. I had problems of my own." The man stated offering the boy an incite into his mind in hopes the other would open up a little.

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX Braidon's shoulders hunched forward and he shrugged again. "Y-yeah..." He replied noncommittally. It made the little boy nervous to speak to the strange man so openly. The redhead hid a yawn behind his hand and shrugged again. "Aren't you supposed to...give me a test or something?" Braidon asked, not certain exactly what it was therapists did.

✎ Engel Ransties ✍ "Do you want a test?" Engel asked looking around his office with a lost expression. "I guess I could give you a test. Do you like test?" The man asked placing both hands into his lap with his head tilting to the side.

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX Engle's behavior shocked Braidon. He was so used to the adults in this school simply telling him what to do. When Engel broke this mold, Braidon didn't know what to do. The boy shook his head from side to side. "Not r-really." He replied, shaking his head again. "I just...I mean..." He sighed softly, "I'm confused about why I have to be here." Braidon explained after a moment of thought. His breathing was just a bit heavier than normal, as if talking alone exerted too much effort. "Mr. Anders, he h-he told Daniel I had to do this." The little boy sighed again, "B-but...there doesn't seem to be anything but just sitting here. So why does he make me come?"

✎ Engel Ransties ✍ "Honestly? That expect me to help you." Engel shrugged and played with his own fingers. "I really would just rather talk." The man admitted looking up at the boy on the floor. "If you don't want to be here, you can leave."

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX "I don't need anybody's help." Braidon mumbled defensively, though it was obviously far from the truth, "I'm fine." The small boy sighed and picked at some lint on the carpet by his knee as the shrink continued speaking. He shook his head, "Not talking." The red head insisted, frowning in consternation. But the final option he was given didn't seem to be any more agreeable to the boy. He shook his head again. "If I don't do this, Daniel'll just put me in the hospital again." Braidon admitted, his voice dropping to a mere whisper, "And they wanted to take me away for a few months."

✎ Engel Ransties ✍ "I won't let that happen." Engel exclaimed sliding into the floor on his knees in front of the boy. "I would never let you go there. I know what it's like in that place. You don't belong there."

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX Harrison made an odd whimpering sound and scooted himself backwards quickly, putting some distance between himself and the doctor once again. Daniel was the only person Braidon didn't say away from. Any time some other person drew closer, the small boy had learned to expect an attack. Now that he felt safer, out of the man's reach, Braidon listened to the man's words. "Daniel's only trying to help.." He whispered in defense of his brother. He didn't like the way the therapist had reacted, as if his brother was intentionally sending him away to the horrible place. "I'm..."Braidon sighed in defeat, "I'm not doing so great. He's only trying to help."

✎ Engel Ransties ✍ "That is not the way to help. You're not crazy." Engel whispered in a heavy gasp with his hand shaking with the need to touch the boy's shoulder. He held back and slid back onto the sofa with his feet against the cushions and his knees to his chest.

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX The little red head drew his knees up to his chest and wrapped his arms around them, curling into a protective ball, unconsciously mirroring Engel. From somewhere behind his folded limbs, he spoke, "I know I'm not crazy." Braidon replied simply, "Its h-hard on him. My brother, I mean." He took a deep breath as if this tiny amount of conversation was exhausting him, "I...don't know how to make it better for him." The boy tilted his pale face and peered with dull eyes over his arms at the doctor. "I hate that he gets so sad about it." Braidon sighed, "I'd go if it'd make him feel better."

✎ Engel Ransties ✍ "Making you better in a healthy environment will make him happy. That place isn't healthy." Engel spoke from experience as the memories clouded the tone in his voice. The man shifted uncomfortably and brushed a hand through his hair showing a clear sign of vulnerability.
