The young pup sniffled as he hung around his home, unsure of what to do next. He now had two females in his life who he was absolutely terrified of: Lilith, the overzealous beta of Hollow Earth, and Kairi, his own mother. The other females in his short life hadn't been the best thing in the world, and had indeed caused much confusion and pain. Rock had no clue what he was growing up to be, anymore, and wasn't even sure if he wanted his family. But he knew he couldn't just disown them, that wouldn't be right.
As he looked around, he realized that Kona had come home from the healer and was now in the care of their father. Jani had yet to come home, though, and Rock worried for her, still convinced that her destruction had been his fault, and his fault alone. The healer was annoyed with the whole pack, and Rock hoped that the male wouldn't just up and leave before his sister was fully healed.
Rock stood, resolutely, and padded his way towards where he had been informed the healer lived. His sister would be with this spotted wolf, and Rock hoped that he would let him see her. Ket was the healer's name, and Rock had been told by Draka and Samhain, the alphas of Hollow Earth, that this was the same healer who had saved Sam's life. He hoped that this meant the wolf was friendly, it was really all that he could do.

Jani had done what the healer had told her to do, and what was to sit still and heal. Jani was finding it hard to do that though everything was so out of wack. Things needed to be fixed or else Jani would have to fix them herself, she knew no one would come see her from her family she was as important as their local rock; and she wasn’t thinking of her brother. Huffing Jani looked down at her legs, they weren’t perfect enough, she needed it to look more like her sisters but the healer hadn’t let her see her sister close enough… Or enough times for Jani to reshape her wounds; or even touch her wounds at all.
She hated sitting still watching the days go by as everything changed around her, she couldn’t do a thing to stop it she couldn’t even figure a way to fix the things around her since she was so small. Every now and again Jani could feel her blood rush at the thought of slitting the healers throat to spread his blood everywhere and paint the den walls with red. It made Jani’s body heat with need to clean the floor with his skin with anyone’s flesh…
What was wrong with her?

As Rock drew nearer to the healers den, he was instantly jealous. The den was like any other he had seen so far on these lands, but the healer's was near a small lake. He had his own water source, and the calming sounds of the blue lapping against the banks of the earth. Maybe someday, if Rock even stayed on these lands, he could live in a den like this.
He kept his thoughts away from the negative towards the healer, not knowing if he could also read minds as well as he healed flesh and bone. He had never met a shaman, or a seer, and was quite interested in the prospect, though he didn't see anyone around except the small form of his sister.
"Jani..." he ventured, creeping closer. He wasn't sure if he was allowed to be around her, but he approached anyway, hoping that his mere presence wouldn't cause her to relapse and begin to hurt herself again. With an apologetic look upon his face, the pup sidled closer, dropping a freshly killed rabbit at her paws.
"For you." he smiled softly, trying to keep the sad out of his small voice.

Frowning Jani’s head shot in the direction of her sibling, what was he doing here? He was the least out of the group that would be likely to come see her. And it’s not like she truly wanted her family near her, everyone single one of them were disgusting filthy vermon and deserved whatever they got later in life. In truth she believed whatever they got was too good for the and wished so much more pain on them.
But her gazed dropped to the dead animal, what was he doing? Why was he doing this? His flith was all over the animal she could see it! Grunting at the animal Jani pushed it away as best she could and folded into a relaxing pose against the ground.
“Why are you here?” It wasn’t like she cared for him, but then why would he care for her?

Rock mumbled something to himself and left the rabbit where Jani shoved it. He let himself slip to the ground to lay comfortably. Maybe not relaxed, but somewhat comforted by the cool embrace of the earth so close to the water.
"I care." was all he said now, looking at her with concern. Pity never crossed his mind; that was an emotion he reserved for no wolf. Rock idly ran a single claw through a loose layer of dirt on the ground, drawing lines and designs. He had no clue what to say now that he was actually here to say it.
"I'm sorry Jani." he whimpered, remembering what had happened when he had tried to connect with their mother. He had been so hopeful, and she had dashed his hopes and turned them to feelings of complete horror. He had been terrified of her, but he had escaped, at least.
He wished so much that she would eat the gift he had brought to her. It wasn't laced with anything, and he had tried very hard not to drool on it too much, remembering her denial of the mushroom the first time he had given it to her. She hadn't wanted to eat something that had been in his mouth. Now that he was fully remembering, he felt even worse that he had brought the rabbit.
It was hard being sober.

Flinching at the words Jani felt sick from her brother’s pity, at least it seemed that way. Why was he doing this to her was he trying to make her feel disgusting like she was her own person? She didn’t want to be that! She wanted to look at her sister and feel the same; she wanted to look into this den and see the red blood of the walls dripping to the floor, making nothings stand out among them. She wanted to growl and snap at her brother until he felt her alone!
“Sorry?” This was an odd word indeed, it meant to take credit and beg for forgiveness and acceptance from the one you’ve wronged… At least in her eyes it did and right now Jani’s eyes were all ruling. She didn’t stand for weak accusations like that, couldn’t stand for them! “Why would you ever need acceptance from anyone Rock?” She was tempted to call him ‘disgusting filth ridden mongrel’ but felt his name worked just the same.
“Unlike what I hope to be one day I choose to stay the same… You on the other hand.” And this was where her voice filled with the hatred and distaste for her family and change all together, “Are someone who stands out, fills the world was uniqueness and…” Her thoughts trailed off thinking of her brother’s changes, thinking of his actions thinking of her family… Of everything she hated.
“And quite frankly I hate it all, everyday.” It was more of a spit then a declaration.

Rock figured that maybe things were going a bit well, until Jani began to speak. His face went from concerned, to confused and worried, and finally his expression changed to completely hurt. He didn't know what do to, and he had finally realized that he had been thinking that a lot. Maybe it was time to finally admit it to someone.
"Jani, I don't know what to do. I don't know." he wanted to cry, but managed to stay strong with his sister, firm, but not unyielding. Maybe if he tried a different approach to her. She hated him though, because he was unique? He didn't understand. He didn't think everyone should be the same, things would be so boring if that was the case. Did Jani really want that? He wondered if, since his sister seemed to have gone a bit more crazy since Kona's accident, she was feeling a strange separation from the twin. "I came because I care about Kona."

Jani couldn’t help but let out chuckles as her brother spoke, he was so foolish so stupid about the world around him. His words made Jani’s skin crawl made her blood rush made her want to destroy the fool and free him of his chained uniqueness. Maybe that’s what she should do with her life, become strong and powerful to over take her family… To destroy the weak and many among their differences.
Yes, it seemed perfect until that is Rock spoke of her twin. Jani’s lips peeled off her fangs in a menacing growl; her mirror image was anything but anymore! But soon… Soon Jani had fixed that though she would be able to go back to her sister and grin… No more differences no more mistakes and changes… So consumed in her thoughts Jani lost focus of her brother and his mistaken mention of her twin, he wanted to care for her sister and that meant he wanted to care for her in Jani’s mind.
Her growl dissipated and Jani’s lips turn upward, “You care for Kona? Good.”

Rock nodded, noting the scary change in Jani's demeanor. "Yes, I care about her a lot, Jani. And you two are so similar, you look just alike." He wouldn't say he didn't care for their other siblings, because he wouldn't lie. He cared for his entire family, even though they scared him to death sometimes.
"She's at home with father, he's taking care of her, teaching her how to walk steady again." he informed her, hoping that she wanted to know. It was the only link he felt he had right now, and it was the best idea to take what he could get.
"I figure you'll be home soon too." he dared a very slight smile, and wondered if he should tell her more about what was going on at home. He was an absent force there, but he did know a few things. He also knew troubling things about himself, but was convinced that if he told Jani these things, he would become more alien to her, so he kept them secret, for now.

Frowning Jani’s eyes became vacant, they were nothing alike not any more. Slowly her gaze dipped to her wounds again, with this new step would she become her sister? Would it heal her mind?
“Yes… Just alike.” Lightly her head shook with the disagreement of that fact, she would demand her life to stay as is. Her horrible siblings, her blind parents… The pack she was stuck in would feel her wrath, she wanted them to live happily because the moment she was strong enough she was coming for them.
And that meant Rock, maybe even Rock would be first. ‘No… Save that spot for Kona.’ Focusing on her brother Jani seemed uncaring towards the male, she didn’t like pretend she didn’t like a lot of stuff in general and that started with her family and ended with the world.
But she could change it, make it into something beautiful.
“And you have no one like that do you?”

Rock didn't yet understand that Jani had wounded herself to more look like her twin, who had also been riddled with scars by her accident in the storm. He also didn't understand just how homicidal she had become, and didn't realize yet that he should avoid her like he avoided his mother.
He listened to her speak, but she seemed vacant and far away, and it was hard to follow her. It seemed as though even she didn't believe what she spoke, and it worried the small male.
He looked down at his own paws as she asked him that chilling question. He was so much different than all of their siblings, and even his parents. His long, fluffy tail made him stick out even more.
"No." he admitted very quietly. "I don't have anyone like that."

“You’ll forever be singled out amongst the family, won’t you Rock?” Jani’s blood stirred to life, a need to hear her brother’s life have no meaning, to hear his voice drop into a helpless and empty shell.
“You’ll forever need something to keep you company… To bat off the loneliness that will set in once you realize your life has no meaning to it.” Slowly Jani did her best to push herself into a sitting position.
“What are you Rock? What is your meaning? Do you have one? Do you want one?” Her grin consumed her face as she leered down at her sibling.

Rock's expression changed rapidly as his sister began speaking to him once again. He was confused by her words, but it had all started to make sense. He was frightened, and scooted backwards to escape her words, her illness.
"Jani..." he cautioned, trying not to listen to her hurtful speech any longer. "I have to go... father will come for you soon." he raised himself up until he was on all fours, still easing away from her. Why had everything gone so wrong?
He had wanted to share with her, to let her know that she wasn't the only one with scary things happening to her. But her break had been caused by his mushrooms, or so he thought. His daily struggle... his pain, the voices in his head, did that come from the mushrooms too?
He couldn't tell her in the end, and finally turned to walk away, a chill running up his spine. He felt very wrong allowing his back to remain unprotected towards his sister, feeling that she might attack at any moment, if given the chance.

Jani’s grin fell, “Yes, of course Rock.” Nodding Jani lay back down, her legs ached from standing and her body twitched with the hungry to torture her brother some more. It was so hard for her not to rush after him with all her might, to attack him as he had left himself so open.
“Just remember what you’ve heard Rock. Remember that you’re alone and that you’ll forever be alone.” Her voice carried through the den, it’s eerie quality making Jani’s blood rush further.
“Just remember...”

The chill in his blood was painful as her words echoed around him, causing his fur to stand on end. He whirled to half face her, and sidled his way out of the cave, keeping alert of all sides. He knew the healer would never hurt him, but he was very wary of ghosts, and the sorts of things that might be conjured up against him by his sister's very malicious intent.
"No..." he mused, finally in the mouth of the cave. "I'll forget, I'll make sure of it." he told her, backing away even further. He could barely see her now, and he liked it that way.
The visit with Jani had made it easy for him to decide. He would take the alphas of Hollow Earth up on their offer. He would move himself to live in their caves, if they would still allow it.
With that thought, the pup rushed away, hoping to drive the mad sounds of his sister out from his ears forever.
