ohmigosh, guys! Last night, I wasn't the only LDS at my school for the
first time in my life. At my old school one of my church friends came with me, but I was maybe 7 or 8, that's at least 10 yrs. ago. This was quite different. It was amazing. I was all excited when I figured it out. My date laughed at me ^-^
*lol* I know exactly how you felt! I was just about the only LDS kid at my school all twelve years!
As for modest gowns, you could try places like
Eternity Gowns. Their 2006 collection has ones I quite like. I'd've worn that black and red one in a heartbeat if it had been available when I was going to prom! Sadly this was ten years ago and specially modest shops hadn't really started yet, certainly not out where I lived.
It's really easy to make a shrug or a bolero jacket to go over a strapless gown. The bridal industry seems to have lost the knack for sleeves so I had a seamstress make a bolero jacket to go with my wedding gown and it worked wonderfully!
