User Image
breeding slots: CLOSED

    breeding rules

User Image cost is 15k for regular krokotas.
7500g per owner, or however you want to work it out.
Heavily edited custom or event Krokotas can cost up to 30k total to breed together, depending on the level of edits, and if you want them on the pups.
User Image you may breed two of your krokotas together.
If you want to keep two of the pups, the cost is 15k. If you will only keep one, the cost is 7500g.
User Image there are rp-required and non-rp-required slots available for breedings.
The cost is the same for both; however, RPers are more likely to get more pups.
User Image if one or both parents are edited, some of the pups will have edits as well.
The exact percentage is undetermined. 8D
    User Image no inbreeding.
No siblings, or parents with offspring. This is all kept track of on the Family Tree, which is located here.
User Image krokotas may only breed as adults.
User Image female krokotas may only breed 5 times total.
Males can breed as many times as they want, those sleezeballs. >____>
Elder Krokotas can only breed once, providing they haven’t already reached their 5 time limit.
User Image pairs with previous pups may only breed again when their last litter is fully-grown.
User Image a limited amount of slots are open, which will be raffled off to all who apply.
User Image each owner is allowed to keep one pup per breeding.
No hoarding. :< Unless, as previously mentioned, you breed two of your own together and pay the full 15k. Or if you custo a pup into the breeding.
User Image pups will take after their parents, and grandparents where applicable.
User Image twins are a possibility, and are more likely if you are interested in them, and even more likely if there’s a history of twins in the parents’ lineage.
      Twins are not, however, guaranteed.
User Image it is possible to “custom” a pup into a soon-to-be or recent litter.
See the Custom post for more info.
    User Image no same-sex breedings.
That is not to say that same-sex couples are not allowed, because they are. However, there's no science or magic in this realm to help same sex couples have pups together, so you will have to find a surrogate. Aforementioned surrogate will have either a major or minor influence on the appearance of the pups (which is up to you), but will have some.
The pup numbers will depend on the relationship of the homosexual pair, not on the status of the surrogate. If they are a mated pair, they will get two to eight pups, and etc.
User Image when (and only when) breedings are open, fill out the form, and cross your fingers.
Breedings are awarded raffle-style, with a limited amount of slots.
User Image when filling out the form, you must include the relationship status of the pair, as well as their standing within their pack(s), if applicable.
Examples: an unmated pair from different packs who are allies, indifferent, rivals, etc.
Breedings are awarded raffle-style, with a limited amount of slots.
User Image the number of pups is determined by the relationship status of the parents, the rank of the parents, and the current conditions.
Pack-ranked Krokotas are more likely to have more pups than lone-ranked Krokotas. The Current Conditions are listed in the News Post (#2).

    rp-required slots

User Image both parents must be rpable.
User Image both parents must have at least two new rps per breeding, with at least one between the pair.
A full RP should be a Gaia page (so 15 posts), with a short paragraph per post.
User Image pups from these breedings will be allowed to rp.

    non-rp-required slots

User Image these are slots where at least one krokotas is not allowed to participate in rp.
Such as a Custom or Event Krokotas that does not fall under what is "natural" and "allowable."
User Image or when the owners do not rp, but still want puppies.
User Image pups from these breedings will not be allowed to rp.
          Period point blank.

User Image mated pairs: these Krokotas both belong to the same pack, and have formed a lifelong bond together. The mortality rate of pups from this type of pairing is extremely low (almost unheard of), due to the stable bond both between the parents, and among the pack members. Mated pairs typically have between two and eight pups.

User Image unmated pairs: these Krokotas can either belong to the same pack, be from different packs, or be a female within a pack who mates with a lone male. If times are plentiful, the pack is likely to be more supportive of the unexpected pups, but if prey is scarce the parent(s) will receive much less help in raising their young. Unmated pairs typically have between two and six pups.

User Image lone pairs: a lone male and female sometimes band together to start their own pack, though the success of such efforts is limited. Lone pairs typically have between two and three pups.

User Image lone female: the most difficult condition in which to raise pups, lone females are unlikely to have more than one or two pups, due to predators, lack of food, and sibling rivalry.
