Contract Information: While it is true that the Butterfly summons are rather small in comparison to some of the other contracts, this gives them several advantages. They are generally faster and more agile than other contracted summons. In addition they have a wide base of abilities to choose from the higher the summoned butterfly is. They are also useful for traveling long distances.

The Trial: In order to become a Summoner of the Butterfly summons you must be able to pass a series of dangerous tests in the home of the Butterfly summons. You must experience each butterfly summons unique abilities and find a way of conquering it. If you succeed you will have not only gained the respect of the Butterflies and them as your summons, but a special Shinobi Skill that makes you immune to the Butterflies techniques.

Special abilities:
Poison spore cloud- Beating his massive wings he sends a wave of poisonous spores that covers a large volume (20ftx20ftx15ft). The spores takes approximately 3 minutes (3 posts) to set in(Note: to set in not to poison. If the opponent was in the cloud even momentary then they are poisoned. The damage only starts after it has set in). Every minute that the afflicted person stays within the cloud they take high amounts of damage (-15 endurance) if they leave the cloud they only take low damage (-5 endurance). This can be dispersed by Futon Jutsu of A rank or higher.

Monarch of all Butterflies- Along with having his own special ability, King Plexippus has the ability to use every other butterfly summons abilities with the exception of Duchess Polytes Morph ability and Echerius’s Not as Bright as he is ability.

Summons Name: Prince Hector

Disorientating Poison- beating his large wings Hector releases a vivid red cloud of spores. The cloud has a volume of roughly 15x15x10. The spores takes approximately 3 minutes (3 posts) to set in(Note: to set in not to poison. If the opponent was in the cloud even momentary then they are poisoned.). Once the poison sets in the opponent will experience a temporary Reversal(meaning if they attempt to move their right leg they move their left) of motor function for 1 minute (1 post). This can be dispersed by Futon Jutsu of B rank or higher.

Next in line for the throne- When King Plexippus passes on, Hector will become the new king. As such, It is expected of him to know all of the abilities he can possibly learn. Hector has all of the special abilities of every Butterfly summon below his rank with the exception of Duchess Polytes Morph Ability and Echerius’s Not as Bright as he is ability.

Summons Name: Duchess Polytes
Type of Summons: Butterflies

Special abilities:
Morph- When summoned Duchess Polytes is surrounded by an invisible cloud of spores that place everyone in a Genjutsu. The illusion makes it appear that she is any of the other Butterflies. This illusion can only be dispersed through the Kai ability or Futon Jutsu of C rank or higher.

Displacement spots: If the opponent has been graced to gaze upon her true form, They will notice red spots along her wings. If the opponent lays their eyes upon them then they will experience another genjutsu. This time the world as they see it crumbles away revealing a place that they have visited before. This Genjutsu affects every one of the senses except for touch. This technique can only affect a person once per battle.

Princess in making- Duchess Polytes is the presumed candidate to be Prince Hector’s mate. As such she has studied everything she can in order to impress him. She gains all of the abilities of the Butterfly Summons below her with the exception of Marquess Machaon’s abilities and Echerius’s Not as Bright as he is ability.

Summons Name: Marquess Machaon
Type of Summons: Butterflies

Mud-Puddling- Some species of butterflies have been known to absorb nutrients through wet soil and other moist substances. Machaon, however, takes it a step farther by absorbing water release techniques of a lower rank than himself, through his proboscis. He is still able to absorb water from other sources, such as ponds and wetlands.

Reversal stream- After absorbing water from any source, Machaon can release a Compacted stream of near liquid mineral towards a target. This technique is considered a C-rank Doton Jutsu. If the water was absorbed from a Suiton jutsu, the stream will only be considered of an equal level to the jutsu absorbed.

Hierarchy of the Butterflies- Machaon has proven himself time and again to be a fearsome fighter. His low rank is belied by his large size. He has all of the abilities of the Butterfly summons below his rank with the exception of Echerius’s Not as Bright as he is ability.

Summons Name: Countess Palosverde

Special abilities:
Flight- The countess is not a very combat oriented Butterfly. Instead, she has mastered even the most difficult of Aerial techniques. She has the ability to seat 4 passengers and fly great distances. Flying as a passenger quarters (rounded up) the necessary traveling posts to reach a destination.
Blue Screen- Countess Palosverde is a pacifist and prefers to avoid combat by any means. In this manner she developed a way of releasing a cloud of bright blue spores that create a form of smokescreen. It is roughly 10x10x8 in volume. This smokescreen is nearly impossible to see through for anyone caught within it and can be dispersed by Futon Jutsu.

Summons Name: Baron Echerius

Special abilities:
Wild spinning- Baron Echerius is one of the smaller Butterflies but he has a wicked ability. By Hopping and spinning he can whip up a circular wind that increases the size of any butterfly poison, cloud or mist by 5x5x5.This can only be used once per battle as it leaves him dizzy.

Not as Bright as he is- Due to his excessive spinning the poor Baron has lost quite a few brain cells. He has effectively lost the ability to fly.
