I've basically given my entire life to this activity haha. I've spent way too much money and time. I can't figure out a single reason to regret cutting all my vacations short, buying all this equipment, spending money on music, missing vacations in general, getting up at 6:00am to make and deliver hoagies, and then have a four hour rehearsal, then go to a football game, then a competition two hours away, get home at 2:00am and then to end it all have a lesson the following sunday, and the occasional sunday night competition which lasts till 12:00am getting me home late. SO yeah, its my life.

Band is my Life!!
What are you talking about?! Band Geeks got no life! XD
Band much steals my life away, I wouldn't choose anything else really. Practices on Monday and Wed, 6 to 8. Summer Practices every Monday. Going to band trips and owning other bands XD, coming home at 12:30ish.
Band is pretty much fun and time consuming for me :3 So I cant get a outside life XD
Band Teacher: " I heard you all have been trying to get an outside life, well tough luck, its not going to work."

oh my goodness yess D;
-swim team, like you mentioned...districts always clashes with the vet. day parade =/ & state is during a festival .-.
-water polo, mainly because it's a club sport (ie not excusable)
-AP classes..our school idiotically schedules AP classes at the same time as all the arts..(band, choir, art..even drama! D; )
-physics ;3; which is freaking hard but i'd have to drop band to take chemistry...which clashes with spanish IV Dx
(need chemistry and/or physics for honors diploma xP )
-trying to fit at least an hour practice of flute&sax daily between volunteering (Humane Society <3), studying/school-work, and sports...not to mention my dwindling social life :'D (me & my gal pals try to have a girl's night out every Saturday...emphasis on try)
BUUUT
-I would never get to see my sweetheart without band~=)
(we have no other classes together...he has xc practice after school then I go to water polo practice while he's at work @-@)
-NOT TO MENTION finishing up homework while waiting for the (sucky) clarinet section to fix up their crap (I'd complain at their lack of ability if it weren't for being able to, you know, read Jane Eyre during rehearsal...)

Pretty much. Next year I can pretty much do everything band, though, since Im probably transferring to a school with an orchestra and Im trying out for youth symphony.....

Yes it does. D;
There are like three or two AnimeConventions that I'd love to go to with my friends, but I can't because of Marching Band Shows.
I also can't go out some nights because I will have pratice later.
But hell, I enjoy it. So they're really is no use complaining. <3
