I mentioned this in my LP very briefly, but within the character biographies that serenesforest.net provided about FE12, they said that Nagi is the incarnation of the Divine Dragon King making Nagi Chiki's Father and the Falchion that was found within his tomb fresh out of his sexy, Divine mouth. If such is the case, I can sort of see why Chiki should be dead before recruiting him, I know I'd rather be dead than see my father as a sexy woman. D: http://www.serenesforest.net/media/fe11illust/x/s_naga.jpgI think I'll leave this here..

Look at it like you would the Sheik dilemma. Clearly, Nagi is female. She's simply the incarnation of a male.

Manic Martini Look at it like you would the Sheik dilemma. Clearly, Nagi is female. She's simply the incarnation of a male. Either I read that wrong from 2am syndrome or wouldn't it be the other way, Nagi being male with in incarnation of a female? The biography states him being the Divine Dragon King who took form of a female, so he may be a she under the name of Nagi, but wouldn't he have the mindset of a male as Shiek would have the mindset of a female? Blah, sorry if that was just an oubliette of words flying across an unnamed mathematical quadrant, happy 2am. gonk In further 2am logic, what if he got pregnant under the Nagi form and turned back into Divine Dragon form? fffffffffffffffff-.

Idunno, makes sense to me...?
In Angel Sanctuary, the main character is male, but he's the reincarnation of a female... -shrug-
So, yeah, Nagi is the reincarnation of the Dragon King or w/e, just happened to take a female form instead. XD

Yeah, 'fraid I couldn't decipher the 2:30 AM logic.
Nagi is the manifestation of this Divine Dragon King. Said manifestation takes the form of a female.
Divine Dragon King = Male Nagi = Female manifestation
Although now I'm wondering if that technically makes Nagi transgender. Because that would be so cool! FE needs more transgender characters.

Well, think of it this way: How often do we get badass Male Mamkutes in FE games?
Plus it may just be Japan appealing to Weird Japanese Tastes by replacing Tiki with a sexy woman. Or maybe it's appealing to Weird Japanese Tastes by making Nagi into a trap a la Lucius.
But oh, on the subject of Nagi and gender, in FE4, where Divine Dragon King Narga was somewhat plot-important... The Narga Bloodline is only really exhibited by women. Diedre, Julia and Linoan are all females that use Light Magic, similar to Micaiah. Julia, however, is the only person capable of using the Narga tome. Plus, Fa is a Divine Dragon of another setting, so it's plausible that Divine Dragons are just more likely women and that Nagi is just a male (or maybe even gender neutral) spirit in a female body.

Ah, that makes sense now, maybe I should just go and finish FE4 before I make another assumption of Nagi then. D: And I never noticed that, the only prominent man Mamkute in the series is Bantou and dear god, he has negative growth rates according to the strategy guide.
