Cancer can be passed down through the family. When my cancer popped up, I was questioned as to if any of my family has ever had brain cancer. My cancer was not passed down to me, but breast cancer particularly I know can be passed down from parent to child. Just be vigilant in getting your mammograms when you're supposed to, and doing self-checks. Organizations such as Keep-A-Breast give instructions as to how to do these self-checks correctly. If you notice anything weird, report it to a doctor, and you could stop the cancer before it's too out of control to stop.
