1. Anyone may enter.
2. You keep what you win; no gifting.
3. You may do this as a partnership or on your own; you may not keep both, however. If you try on your own, please mention who gets what (so there is a slight 'gift' element here).
4. As you can only win one, please only enter with one partner, or on your own per contest. So you can enter for both the ratel/villain and the custom set, but not enter the custom set twice.
5. The villain does not need to be a ratel. It can be any familiar species.
6. Alternatively, you can enter for a custom hero/villain pair. So there will be at least two groups of winners.
7. You may not make an exact cosplay. You can take elements from a design (like the ratel's Batman symbol as a mask) to use. It does need to have some sort of hero/villain element.

Backstory:

Since the dawn of time (or so it is told) there have been Ground Runners and there have been the Wyley Pack who sought out the Ground Runners.

Every young wolf goes through the initiation ceremony, he (or she) must go out in to the world, alone without back up from the pack, and bring back a brightly coloured bird from the great flock known as the Ground Runners.

This flock, have always lived on the ground growing, as many species do and evolving until their wings have become merely appendages with which to flap at an enemy. This flock is far from easy to capture though, unlike it's birdie relatives, these birds have highly developed leg muscles and can run forever, if necessary, they are keen of mind and sharp of wit and they never give up running until the predator leaves them alone.

A young wolf must leave his (or her) family at coming of age and go to the land of the ground runners, here, he (or she) must choose a bird and hunt it until it is captured and that my friends is where this story begins.

Pinduani, strong, young, cocky and knowing that he would bring home the brightest, strongest, biggest ground runner, ever and receive the praise of the whole pack upon his return, picked out, just as he had already decided; the biggest, brightest ground runner and it was to be his downfall.

Kuninga, the son of the flocks leader, strong and quick of wit saw the wolf coming long before he even knew he was headed his way. The bird could see.

For days and nights, for endless days and endless nights the wolf stalked the bird but every time the wolf placed eye on the bird the bird would run and be away before even his nose could capture his scent.

The wolf grew tired, grew irritated and one day the bird stood completely still and told the wolf that he would never be caught. That he could 'see' him coming. This enraged the wolf and he promised to never stop chasing the bird, that he would live to regret his arrogance. The brown wolf came up with a plan.

Pinduani set himself upon the flock and killed not only the leader and his mate but several others, decimating the flock. This never happened, usually a wolf came, took one bird and left, and the flock accepted this as a casualty, but this wolf was mad, wanting revenge for his failed attempts on the leaders son.

This act of cruelty caused the flock to turn on the brightly coloured male. They chased Kuninga out and told him never to return until he had killed the wolf who had hurt the flock so badly.

The male bird left with a heavy heart, having lost his family. He goaded the wolf until he followed him. The wolf chased the bird away from his own pack, chased him away from the flock where he was born and raised and taught. The bird always trying his hardest to kill the maned wolf as he chased him, trying every trick to try and trap the evil dog that had hurt his flock.

Kuninga never succeeded in killing the wolf and the wolf, blood thirsty and cruel, thinks only of his mission, his mind set on capturing the ground runner that humiliated him, that escaped his grasp that keeps him a child in the eyes of his pack.

They run, day in day out, evading, running; fighting to return home, fighting for the right to be called 'adult'.

Hero's Name: Rio (To be given to Das Tor BTW)
Hero's Species: Avian (Eagle Lines)
Hero's Gender: Male
Hero's Description: Olive green with mud brown wingtips, brown talons/beak, and yellow eyes.

Villain's Name: Zaku
Villain's Species: Avian (Falcon Lines)
Villain's Gender: Male
Villain's Description: Minty green with a black chest, mask, wingtips, and claws, and red eyes.

Backstory:

In a peaceful land far away, ruled by the--Oh, who are we kidding? This is a story about a couple of bird brains.

Rio was a good bird who lived in a tree not too far from a pridal hunting area, and the bird was proud of his work. You see, there was as lake in the hunting lands he could catch fish from for the pride, something they couldn't do, and every day he caught his breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and donated erxtra fish to the pride. Especially cubs. Rio was a very good guy and often helped lion cubs find homes, or he raised them until someone adopted them before the bird brain ruined them. He wasn't a bad bird at all, but... Well.... He was a bird. All the same his popularity rose, and he had a good thing going, right? Right.

Then there was Zaku, and Zaku was... Not exactly the nicest. He was the kind of bird who took rabbits from cubs and pooped on the larger animals. Yeah, a real winner, and so classy. (Hint: Not really.) These two lived across Rio's lake from one another, and Zaku didn't notice him until the pride began to visit him. You see, they loved Rio. Zaku, not so much. There were some who wanted Zaku as a snack. But Rio was a nice guy and heard them out.

And, well, Zaku took offense one day when someone told him he was a b ig dirt head, unlike Rio.

This went over like one of Zaku's turds on a Zebra.

So what did the minty little punk do? The little punk went to Rio's tree. He perched where Rio couldn't see him, and... Well....

Rio didn't feel clean for weeks, and while he was a good bird, he realized Zaku wasn't leaving him alone! No sir! Zaku was destroying his nest when he left, leaving his mark in Rio's favorite places, and, worse, oh, much worse, he did the most evil thing of all!

He made babies cry! And thus, Rio swore to stop Zaku, somehow.

Maybe he'd hit him with a trout or something. The world will soon see.
