Elliot liked having a pig. Bokonon the jerboa was always fun, and she still missed his cute little nose and huge ears, but he was perfectly content darting about the house. She couldn't take him outside very often because, as a rodent, he was afraid of most things and would panic himself into a frenzy. But a pig was nice, a pig was mellow, and she could take a pig on walks without much worry. And so here she was, taking her pet on a walk. She had already circled around the main part of town, and was now taking Kazak out farther away from the center. He always liked the forest and the river, where he could sniff around for interesting things and munch on roots and plants that he normally wouldn't get at home.

Elliot and Kazak marched on along the river, pausing every once in a while to investigate something interesting. It was snowing gently around them, as it was the middle of winter, and the short redhead was wrapped up fuzzy winter clothes. She thought she looked somewhat like an eskimo, with her thick coat and the faux fur trim around the hood. She wore a warm wool hat that matched her scarf and gloves, as well as the sweater that Kazak wore. Pigs didn't have fur, so she always worried about him getting too cold. Along with her own winter accessories, she had knit her little pig a tiny sweater and a tiny hat with holes, so it was held down by his ears. It was all delightfully cute, and she was practically smiling looking at him trot around in matching clothes.

They had been walking for a while when a loud voice caught their attention. Elliot barely reacted, instead raising her eyes to see a man with green hair and a megaphone looking into the water. But Kazak seemed delighted to see someone new, and took off, the cord of his leash making a winding sound as it was yanked out of the plastic handle. The teacup pig took himself as far as the leash would allow him, pausing right by the river side and oinking at Avian excitedly. Elliot took her time catching up, as she didn't want to slip and fall into the icy water, watching the man the entire time. Kazak was a friendly, outgoing pig (he probably got it from River) but he was still a good judge of character, and so if he was enthusiastic, Elliot didn't have to worry about this stranger. She was glad, because she was curious as to what he was doing.

"What are you doing?" she asked in her usual monotonous tone, pausing behind her pig, who was now racing back and forth along the water, as if hoping that a way closer to Avian would make itself clear. "Aren't your feet cold like that?" He WAS standing in a river in the dead of winter, afterall.

Avian was pretty entranced with the water below him. That's why it didn't register that there could possibly be anyone else out here in the wilderness besides him. So you wouldn't be surprised that he was surprised to here someone's voice. So when a girl's voice rang into his ears he jumped. Literally. Jumped onto one foot spinning back wards. Like something you'd see in a TV show. He examined the girl a bit. And then looked towards the pig. His eyes widened a bit, he liked pigs. Which is why he would address the lady's questions. "I am communicating with the aquatic world -Bzzt." He responded using the megaphone, still on one leg. Not for long though. Since when the girl asked him about the temperature of his feet. It finally hit him how insane what he was doing was. Now, Avi was pretty decently far into the water, which made what he was about to do that much more impressive. With both legs in the water, and his arms swinging back to forth, the green haired man leaped from where he was back onto shore. Of course when he landed he held up his hands high as if he was a gymnastics star. But once he realized he wasn't going to get a score, he returned his attention back to the girl. He cleared his throat and act as if he was trying to regain his composure. Though he wasn't very composed to begin with. And for some reason he changed the situation from a meeting encounter to... "How can I be of service to you?"

Elliot was impressed. She had never seen someone move like that before, and she was River's sister. It was like he had levitated out of the water or something. As he returned to the shore, she raised her hands and gently clapped them together a few times, the handle of the leash rattling noisily. Kazak stopped his running and hurried over to sniff Avian's feet, snuffling loudly. Elliot looked down at her pet fondly before returning her blank gaze to the man. "That was impressive. Are you an acrobat?" she questioned, her eyes lighting up for a moment at the thought of meeting another circus person. "I work at the circus, and that was something an acrobat would do." She didn't think they had hired any more people in the off-season, but she would be happy to meet someone from a different circus, too. She liked circuses, they were filled with nice, interesting people. "Or maybe you're something else? Do acrobats used megaphones, usually?" she asked, sounding just as serious as she had at any other point. She was still new, so she didn't know many things about the circus. Maybe he would be able to teach her?

Avian was actually quite pleased with the girl's reaction. True she didn't look very enthused, but she clapped! Which was reason enough for him to turn pink a bit and laugh nervously. Like you would see someone do when they we're just given a huge compliment. What was it called?... Being flattered! That's what he was. Though he made sure to snap back to attention since the girl was talking to him. He made sure to always listen to what people say. And this girl wasn't just speaking. She was asking! Imagine if he didn't listen, she would feel dejected. How saddening. "I'm a chicken farmer," Avian announced while pointing to himself with a big grin. He really didn't understand that it wasn't a very glamorous profession. However, he though it was cooler than anything else, though it most certainly didn't teach him how to jump like that. "You see... Jumping is one Of Avian Stonebrak's 249 Amazing Skills!" He told her while pointing up into the sky, as if he was revealing some huge secret. Immediately afterwards he crouched down to pet the pig, "Along with loving pigs~" One of the animals he didn't detest. After petting the pig for a second he looked up at the girl, "What's your name?"

Elliot would have smiled. This stranger had reacted nicely, obviously pleased by her gesture, and that was a lovely thought. Not many people appreciated what she did, afterall, as they often found her too creepy. But this boy had overlooked her oddness, and she was glad. So glad, in fact, that she was only a tad disappointed that she had guess incorrectly, as she had gotten her hopes up. "Well, I suppose that's nice, too," she replied blandly. Chicken farmer would be nice, too, he was dealing with animals, so they weren't too different.

Her large, dark eyes widened for a moment as Avian continued, explaining how he was able to jump like that. "249? Really?" she breathed, wondering silently what the other two hundred and forty eight skills were. That was impressive, especially for someone as young as he looked. He didn't look that much older than herself (though she was deceptively young looking, and always had been) so he must have learned them all in a very short amount of time, and that was not something most humans were capable of doing. If only she were as capable of being as productive as he was. The corners of her mouth twitched slightly, as if threatening to widen into a smile, and her eyes slimmed as well, as if she were grinning wildly, though her face was just as smooth and emotion-free as ever. "I'm Elliot. Elliot Park. And this is Kazak," she introduced herself and her pig, the latter of which was quite excitedly oinking at Avian's feet, pleased by the attention he was receiving. It was not like that at home. He did not care for River much, as she smelled of that awful fox, and it made him too nervous even though Jaeja paid little attention to him. And Alex avoided him as much as he could, since the little piglet was an unpleasant reminder of the ingredients he dealt with on a daily basis. So aside from Elliot, this was the first person he had truly liked. If only Avi could become aware of this sort of honor.

Of course Avi could not magically know that he was a special few who payed attention to the pig. Animal mind reading was not one of his skills. It would be cool if it was though. So the man only enjoyed the fact that their was actually a pig in front of him. Pigs were actually a rare sight, especially one as a pet. Which is why he was so excited to see one. "Kazak~" He said in a slight song-ish voice as he petted it's head. He liked that name. It sounded very abnormal to him, and he loved abnormal. After a bit he got back on his feet and looked up at the sky. He pointed up with one hand and lifted the megaphone to his mouth with the other,
"Kazak!" He said once more up into the sky. And after a couple seconds let both his arms fall limp to his side. Though his head didn't go right back to looking at Elliot just yet. He scanned the area around him with his eyes as if he was looking for something more interesting. There wasn't. Well not in the immediate area. But, there was nearby. In fact it was the real reason he was even in the forest to being with. So he let his green eyes wander back onto the girl and he smiled a bit. "Hey," He called normally, resisting the urge to use the megaphone, "Would you like to adventure with me?" A childish question. However, the man said it sincerely. He wanted to explore, and since this girl had approached him, maybe she wanted to come?

Elliot stared at the man in front of her who was currently yelling her pig's name into a megaphone. Was she disappointed? Yes, perhaps she was. It was the same with Bokonon, she couldn't help but get her hopes up whenever she shared her pet's name with someone on the off chance that they also were a fan of Vonnegut and she could make a friend with the same interests. She had yet to encounter a person like that, and so the lack of recognition in Avi's eyes resulted in inevitable disappointment. It didn't last for long, however, because he didn't seem to find it strange. Elliot understood how odd others found her, and there were only so many times a person could hear it. And so she waited for Avian to finish whatever it was he was doing, admiring the person she had stumbled upon by complete chance.

When he addressed her again, her eyebrows twitched in questioning. "An adventure? How so?" she asked. Her image of an adventure was skewed at best. When she was a child, her sisters would often take her along on "adventures", though that usually didn't account to much beyond marching around the backyard or, if they were feeling particularly ambitious, sneaking down to the corner of the block and back. (It never went any further, of course, as they were strictly forbidden from crossing the street by themselves.) When she was slightly older, River would often disappear for long periods of time, passing it off as an 'adventure' as well, though it seemed to be a rougher sort of adventuring than what Elliot had experienced, as River often returned home with ripped clothes and scrapes and bruises. Elliot really didn't care for either of those adventures, but it was a vague term, so she looked up at Avi expectantly, hoping that he would have his own, new definition. "I suppose that's fine. Kazak could use the exercise," she added after a moment of thought, a small smile appearing on her blank face for a split second before disappearing completely.

After Elliot had agreed to accompany him, Avi couldn't help show a bit of joy. Of course that usually mean looking mug of his could only manage a small smile before he decided not to. Some people got scared when he smiled. Of course it was more like a wicked grin. However, he never meant it that way. Regardless, the man was happy that he had a companion to go for a walk with. That's what adventure had meant to him. He knew where he wanted to go, and all they had to do is walk there. Yet before he did anything, Avi stood silent for a minute, his head hanging and his eyes glued to the floor beneath him. He had never put his shoes back on... "Cold..." He spoke as he wiggled his toes. It only took him a second to find his shoes, which were next to the river's bank,, and after he slipped them on he scouted out they're route. "Let's see..." Slipped from his lips as he made binoculars with his hands and stared into the direction he wanted to go. After wards he looked back at the girl and her pet and walked towards them. He looked at the girl's hand which held Kazak's leash, then looked at his hand with the microphone. He moved to Elliot's free side and grasped her hand, tugging on it gently as he began the walk.
"Onward!" He spoke into the megaphone as he began the small 'adventure'.
