Sally narrowed her eyes at him, sensing an incongruity in the story. "But you've lived here all your life, haven't you?" she asked. Of course, he could have been from an outlying farming community, but what it came down to was that he'd managed to spend his whole life in Central and could barely find his way around.
She laughed nervously, shrugging off the inclination to assume an even larger conspiracy. "You've got a really bad sense of direction, huh?" she asked.

"It's not that, I can find my way around anywhere no problem. It's just... bigger than I'm used to." Writ looked out the window, watching the murky blurs of the subway tunnels change into the stark lights of the station.
"Well Sally," Writ stood up, and pat her on the head, "This is where I get off. Stop by my place after you have fun with Vale, won't ya?"

Sally gave Writ an odd look, but then flashed him a thumbs up. This was certainly shaping up to one of the weirdest tips she'd ever gotten, but she was sure it would turn out in a great story. "Sure," she said happily, always up for following up on a lead.
She waved as the train doors shut again. What kind of fun was this going to be?
