Elliot kind of just wanted to give up right then and there. Her a** smarted from landing hard on the ice, and from it going numb as the cold crept through her jeans. Kazak had rushed up along the edge of the lake to watch her, though he didn't dare walk out on the ice. All Elliot could do was sit there until Avi slid up and gave her a hand. She nodded thankfully as she clumsily got to her feet. Any other day, and she'd probably be a little embarrassed to be holding onto a stranger like this, but her brain had registered the ice as something dangerous, and so she clung to Avian with little care. She knew that if she let go, she'd fall, and she wasn't ready to do that again. And so she held onto Avi as if her life depended on it, her knees and toes pointing inwards towards each other. She felt a little bit like a baby animal, learning how to walk for the first time. Either way, she was glad River wasn't there to see it. "Please don't let go," she urged, a hint of desperation in her voice. She was obviously distressed, which was actually kind of impressive for her. Her face hadn't displayed this much emotion in a long time, but she didn't have time to pay attention to that. Her heart was pounding in her chest as she stared down at the ice and her feet, which refused to move. "Sorry about this," she added softly after a moment. "I'm not a very athletic person." Perhaps she didn't need to explain, it was kind of obvious, but for some reason, she felt like it should be said.

"Hahaha, Don't worry about it!" Avian spoke cheerfully and with a heart filled laugh. His face had broken out to a grin as the girl tried to explain herself. It was nice to be depended on. Like some kind of hero! That thought tickled Avi a bit. Maybe he should look into that sometime... Heroism. But before he could do that, he had a new friend to attend to. "It's easy if we move slowly," The man said. A comment that was all to obvious. However, Avi was a 'do it' not 'say it' kind of guy, "Just don't lift your feet." He though of a way he could explain it better, only to come up with one solution. Demonstration! Of course he wasn't allowed to let Elliot go, she seemed very stern on that fact, but there were others ways to show. "You just kinda..." He began to say as he pointed down at his feet, which on cue started to shuffle forward slightly, "...Do this." He mad sure to keep the girl firmly in tow. If she had fallen again she might give. Though falling was just a way of learning. But so was teaching, and Avian liked the idea of teaching.

Elliot was grateful that Avi had taken it so well. She could think of a number of people who wouldn't be quite so patient or understanding. In fact, she had a memory of being five or six years old and trying to learn how to rollerblade, only to have Leanna, who had picked it up immediately, give up in exasperation and impatience, give her a mean shove onto a neighbor's lawn, and take off speeding down the sidewalk before anyone could see what she had done. Of course, Elliot hadn't said a word about it to anyone, because by the time she had gotten the rollerblades off her tiny feet and made it home, it didn't seem that important to her anymore. But she still remembered the way heat crept through her cheeks, and she didn't want to repeat it anytime soon.
But really, her life was practically on the line here. Well, no, that was an exaggeration, but she was wholeheartedly relying on Avi to get her to solid ground safely. Perhaps it was a little naive of her to rely on a stranger like this, but she could analyze her behavior later. At the moment, she clung to Avi, staring up at him with wide, concerned eyes. She wasn't feeling confident, but she decided to take his words seriously, and shifted her feet forward. She didn't fall, though she still wasn't comfortably with how little friction there was between the bottom of her shoes and the ice. At one point, she could feel her foot slip slightly, though she remained upright. The sensation of slipping ever-so-slightly and the anticipation of hitting the ice cause Elliot's knees to buckle, and she quickly shot down into a crouch, though she still held onto Avi's hands. She felt a little bit like a monkey hanging from a branch. "I'm sorry, just a moment, please," she murmured softly before pulling herself up (it wasn't that hard, she was light). She wobbled unsteadily, but caught herself. Cold air brushed pushed up against her ears, and she realized that her hat fell off. "...Maybe I should watch you for a bit first," she suggested almost shyly, as shyly as she could get, beginning to shuffle backwards slightly.

Avi frowned a bit, though understood where the girl was coming from. Not everyone was great at everything. But, it did sadden him that she couldn't enjoy the experience. He smiled sympathetically at her and kept her in a safe grip as he brain stormed. Letting his eyes shift from scene to scene silently. Unfortunately thinking was never the man's strong suit. However as his eyes scanned over the girl's hat on the ice, an idea popped into his head. "Okay, just hang on for a second," He reasoned as in a tone that tried to keep soothe her into being calm. He let one of the hand's holding her go and slipped his jacked off his arm, then switching which arm he was supporting her with to let his other arm out. Under the jacket was only a thin t-shirt, so Avian shivered a bit as the cold air touched his bare skin. Which was strange seeing how he was standing bare foot in a river earlier in the middle of winter. But that was besides the point. He laid his jacked on the ice so it was spread out like a blanket, a curious gesture, but to the green haired man it was an innovative idea. "If you would please, your highness," He spoke gesturing for her to sit down on the jacket. If she didn't feel comfortable standing, she could sit and he could push her back to land! A brilliant idea if he did say so himself.

Elliot was an obedient person, she always had been. It sometimes got her in trouble, like when Daniel had been in a bad mood and told her to stop looking at him because it creeped him out, and she avoided looking in his direction for a week until he realized she was just following orders. Up until then, he had thought she was just angry with him, and had been panicking quietly to himself. Of course, once the misunderstanding had been cleared, they had grown closer than ever and got along better from then on, but it still didn't change the fact that she had listened to him without a second thought. And so, when Avi took off his jacket and laid it on the ice, she stared at it for a moment until she realized that he wanted her to sit. And so she did. Well, almost. She began to sit, when her brain, which had learned to be more skeptical with adulthood, made her stop and think things over. This wasn't right! And so she stood up straight, taking the jacket with her, and looked at Avi almost intently. "It's fine, thank you, I can do it on my own," she said, pushing the jacket back into his arms. It wouldn't be fair of her to let him get hypothermia because she was clumsy. And so she let go and turned around, determined this time to get herself to the side on her own. Not that they were that far from the edge of the lake. And so she wobbled awkwardly across the ice, arms stiff, knees knocking together. Eventually, after a few painfully tedious steps, she had just about made it to the side. It was then that her foot finally slipped, and she fell forward, landing face-first in the snow. She lay there for a moment, the ice making her face go numb, before crawling forward a tiny bit until her feet left the ice.
When she stood up again, Elliot's face was burning crimson, though her expression was as blank and unaffected as ever. Kazak ran circles around her legs, and she noticed he was shivering slightly. He had a sweater, but he was still a pig, and so he could only stay out for so long. And so, she scooped up the pig and turned to face Avi. "It was very nice to meet you. I'm sorry I wasn't able to slide with you. But I should go now, Kazak's cold. Goodbye." And with a small wave, she turned and marched off, almost briskly, thinking solely of curling up on the couch with a cup of hot tea. That would be nice.

Avian just watched quietly as his companion walked off. He didn't understand why she left, but didn't really try to either. He did wave them off before turning back to the vast lake and staring off. Looking down at the jacket in his hand he shrugged tossing it on the floor. It wasn't to cold out, not for him at least. Plus it made sliding easier without it, which was what he was preparing to do. His mind wandering as he slid side from side. He didn't want to go back to work just yet. He loved the chickens but not all the work. Working was boring. If only it was as fun as sliding. Chicken sliding... Avi's mouth curved into a smile. Now that seemed fun. The man dropped onto his back and stared into the sky. That was something he'd have to try out... If the bird's didn't hate the cold. He could give them sweaters! Like, "Kazak~" Little sweaters for little birds. He'd have to look into that. So Avi sat there thinking of random ideas until nightfall~
