Perhaps if this was a resort or more advanced area, there would be a lift or elevator – maybe even a paved road – that could lead one to the top safely. Here, it is necessary to hike. That journey, however, is reserved for the mountain. This is the final destination and a fine one it is! The top isn't completely flat, but it is far more leveled and easier to walk on with the few creatures being found here rather docile and peaceful. The trees are sparse and the wind whips about relentlessly, but there is a tranquility that few areas in the world can match. One edge of the mountain top can be best described as a cliff with no fence or warning aside from your own vision to it's depth. Though, as one sits here, the occasional reptile scurrying by, watching the hawks and eagles pass overhead, a glorious view can be seen overlooking the forest, river, and practically the whole island with good eyes. Be careful not to jump when the elegant mountain goat comes foraging through and do pay a visit to the shrine centering the expanse. Here, we give worship to the Earth Fairy and all it's past followers.

[ ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ ] Cid [ ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ ] ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ ] Getting up here was far easier than Cid would have thought. Then again, he did live on top of a mountain, so it's not like this was any more difficult than that. The young monk sat on the floor on the edge of the mountain, still holding his spade with him. He just looked at the interesting view before him. This wasn't the worst place he's been to. Or the worst reincarnation of himself either. No the last one sucked more. Really, a zombie apocalypse in a parallel universe? That was just exhausting.
The only issue he was having right now was that he didn't really have anyone around him to talk with on regular basis. He's meet a few people here and there, but all of the men seemed very rude, too old, or near non-existent. While there may be far more women as well, almost all of them seem to dress as if they had no modesty in them whatsoever!

[ ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ ] Cid [ ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ ] ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ ] Another Monday night for Cid. Mondays meant maintaining the shrine on the mountain. It had the most damage through weather than the other ones did, mostly because of how high up it was. After regular maintenance, he sat down by the edge again. This would soon to into a routine for him. He didn't mind much though, he loved high up places; it reminded him of home.

[ ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ ] Cid [ ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ ] ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ ] /New day.
Another week, another trip up the mountain top. Cid just finished making sure the shrine was nice and kept well maintained. He then went over to the edge of the mountain top and sat down to meditate. All the other shrines didn't need such upkeep since their conditions weren't nearly as bad. They weren't exposed to the harsh conditions of he mountain top. Well, the water one was... but Cid didn't know how to swim.

As far as pets went, Giovanni and Gaston were similar in their love of the rare and exotic (and mostly illegal) sort. But, there was a difference there. Gaston tired of his pets quickly and, perhaps so too did Giovanni, but Giovanni certainly didn't drop his old pets out on the doorstep and shoo them away when he wanted to get rid of them. And that was just what happened to poor Florence the panda. He had sat on that doorstep in confusion as to what his owner was intending him to do, but, in the end, he got a rumbly in his tumbly and had to go off in search of food. He wasn't really born in a zoo – he had come from China like most poached panda's did – so he knew a thing or two about fending for himself. Just this wasn't China. And there wasn't any bamboo – not from what he had seen so far. Well, no bamboo forest. The odd botany of Nirvani had left little bundles of bamboo plants growing randomly throughout the forest.. Which is what lead Florence to scaling the mountain and scaring off most goats and birds in his clumsy antics. Sure, he could climb bamboo stalks just fine. A mountain? Please, he was having trouble getting up the first rock. Though, somehow, he had managed to the very top and who should he find up there but the monk.
Oooh. The monk. The bear stood breathing, watching the monk quietly aside from those gasps. If he could, he would be glaring. He remembered the monk from much farther back than that little cooking festival he starred in! Oh, yes, indeed. Florence had just been a little panda bear, minding his own business in some farmer's crops, when came the monk and his painful bamboo stalks! Always whacking him away when Florence just wanted a snippet of those.. whatever those plants were, he didn't have that good of a memory, but he knew he wanted it! And a man with same scent, funny hat, and height had been the one to stop him! He pawed at the ground for a second before lumbering forward a few steps, gauging him. He had to make sure this was the same man.. But he was certain of it! He growled loudly from across the way to get his attention and watched.

『[ ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ ] Cid [ ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ 』 ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ 』 Hearing an animal Cid rolled to the side to not be on the edge, and got into his fighting stance. He had a bad experience with bears in the past... but then just saw Florance. Cid loosened and stood up straight, staring at the panda bear. Seeing as Florance was from China, he was bound to understand Chinese! which was good, since Cid's English wasn't that great. So now he spoke in his own language. "Oh, hello Panda Bear. You appear to be lost! But don't worry, I will help you find your home." Yes Cid did just talk funny no matter what language he was speaking in.
The young monk walked over to the large panda bear. He was now determined to help this one bear! It was his duty as a wanderer to help whoever shows up in need of his assistance!

Florence watched him.. and watched him.. and kept on watching him when he realized something startling. He had no clue how to fight! Aside from jumping on that tall, stupid male at the cooking festival, he honestly didn't have an idea of what he was supposed to do. Instincts would have taken over, but the monk wasn't attacking him or anything! There wasn't any aggression there, just some kind of overwhelmingly odd serenity. Damn the monk and his completely kind, peaceful nature! He should be attacking him with a bamboo stick or – or – oh. No, no, no, no – he was, wasn't he? That was why he was approaching like that! Why he was speaking in that funny way that every funny monk who wanted to whack him with a stick would! He backed up a pace, all sense of determination vanished with that thought. He wasn't a big, strong panda bear – he was a little cub all over again! One that had been placed inside mansion after mansion, being pampered and taken care of like a little prince! He wasn't cut out to do this! He let out a bark of warning and scurried off to.. nowhere, really, he stopped after a few feet. There wasn't even a bush to hide in! Oh, but there was a tree! There he went! He headed up the tree and.. fell. The little craggy tree wasn't cut out to hold up 200 and more pounds of panda fat! Lucky for him, it was only a few feet up, nothing to big. Still, it shocked the bear as he laid back on his back, clutching the branch as if he was still up in that tree. And, as far as he was aware, he still was.

『 ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Cid ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ 』 ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ 』 Cid stopped in front of the fallen bear, and walked around him, placing his spade on a lock on the back of his own belt. As the weather girl predicted, it started to rain! "Do not worry Panda Bear, I will carry you on my back as I have carried a cow between two villages up a mountain as there was no other cow besides that one between the two so they could both share it's milk!" Yes, he did just say all that. The young monk helped the panda up on it's feet, then went in front of him, bent down, and literally picked up the panda on his back! It was only a few hundred pounds. Nothing this man could not properly handle with the amount of experience and training from a battle hardened wanderer!
He did walk a lot slower though, but carried this panda on the way down the mountain, to find it's home!.. and probably find a chiropractor after this too.
/Exit mountain.

Head still spinning, though not violently enough to make her ill, she wobbled on unsteady legs after Robert, who had spun her around, declared they were going "that way," and marched off. Celeste put a hand to her head and tried for a bit of diginity, instead of stumbling stupidity.
What had gotten into Robert all of a sudden anyway. Being a PI it was understandable that he wanted to help people... but why he had suddenly chosen to help her on a mission she didn't even have... that was a bit weird. Almost Aunt Sybil weird...
Now that her head was feeling better, and now that she could walk straight and not fear beumping into Robert, she looked around her curiously. "Whe- where are we? And where are we going?" This definitely didn;t seem to be the way back to town...

I had no idea where she was leading me, but what was sure, was that it wasn't the direction of the town. I knew that this was briinging up to the mountain.... then passed by the mine... and now we were on the mountain top. I looked at her in suspicion. What were we doing here? This wasn't a place to be. There was absolutely nothing here. "I believe.... you brought us to the mountain top, Celest... this isn't a shop.." I knew I was stating the obvious, but I too, was curious as to what we where doing here. I had accepted to help the fairies, but there was only so much I could do without being briefed as to what my mission was. I raised my eyes to the sky. So clear, unlike the city. "We might have taken a wrong turn.... but... the sky is quite beautiful from here, don't you think?" I said to her. This could have become a really romantic moment, but who was I to wish for romance? Romance was always a b***h that would bite me right back in the a** the moment I had my back turned. No, I human, I couldn't have that kind of feelings for a fairy. I refused about it. Even with all the dark night, all the stars and all the scotch, I wouldn't sleep with her. I knew that if I did, it would have been too late. The line would have been crossed and I would find myself in a land of no return. Still, I said that for every investigation I was doing, and yet, almost every time, I ended up sleeping with a woman or two. What could I say. There was no way I could resist them and their charms.

She brought her bright eyes back around to Robert in time to catch his look of suspicion and she frowned. What did he have to be suspicious of? It wasn't like she had chosen this direction. He had... well, sorta.
Her frown melted away as Robert proceeded to point out the obvious. Instead, she rolled her eyes, her face softeneing into the more comfortable lines of amusement. She had always been better at smiling than frowning. She was about to say something teasing about his mastering the obvious but he spoke again and she closed her mouth. She had started walking toward him but stop at his seemingly random change of subject. She raised an eyebrow and took the last couple of steps toward Robert, stopping when she reached his side. She tilted her head back and looked up toward the sky obediently.
After a moment of of looking up into the dark blanket littered with glittering stars, she nodded slowly. "Your right." She said softly, feling wierd about talking too loud now that they were both being quiet. "Very beautiful." She dropped her chin and looked out around them. It would have been very beautiful here during the day too. Probably would have been a make out spot, if not for being all the way at the top of the mountain. She looked over at Robert and gave him a soft, companionable smile. "So now what Mister PI? What does us ending up on a mountain top mean?" She asked jokingly, making him sound more like a psychic than a PI.

I looked around, trying to find clues as to what we were doing here. It was clear that Celest was counting on me. Maybe... maybe she knew where to go, but for a reason she wouldn't reveal to me, she could no act once at that location. That would make sense. This was probably why the fairies needed a human like me to help them. "I do not know what it means, this is why, we must find clues!" I said to her. This was what we detective did, after all. Drinking scotch in a sleazy bar during a rainy night was just a common hobby. "Now... at this location, various thigns can be found... The top of a mountain, a sky lower than the rest of the island, a view of all the island, two people in the middle of the night... and that little shine over there... Which ones of those items does not fit in here. Those items will be out clue!" Analytic detective work!

Okay. Confused again, but that seemed like it might be the going emotion when she was with Robert. His way of thinking was much different than her own, which was probably important for a PI. But if you ask her, it just seemed like it gave him more and more reason to find intrigue in an innocent meeting of two aquaintences at a light house after 9pm.
Okay, okay, looked at that way it did seem a little plot-ish. Smiling to herself she looked around as he started naming observations about what could be seen from the moutain top. She was playing along just fine until he mentioned the shrine. At the mention of it she tensed and looked back to Robert, who seemed oblivious to her distress. She would just bet that was his "clue." But she'd be damned before she brought it into the conversation. Giving him a somewhat pained face she asked weakly, "I don't suppose our clue can be the two people in the middle of the night? That seems rather out of place to me..."

I had already walked away from the edge of the mountain. As far as I knew, someone could have easily pushed me down it. I would have died, without a doubt. This was dangerous business. I walked in the direction of the small shrine. I had already seen some like those around the island, never really paying them much attention. However, I did noticed something. There was one like that in the Light House, and now Celest was bringing me, where there were another one. However, there would seem to be nothing important about it. Just an old shrine with a fairy drawn on it and some named, whatever they were. I doubted this was important... for now."You are right! Two people in the middle of the night on the mountain top are highly suspicious! Which is why, I can deduce, whitout a shadow of a doubt that.... we have nothing to do here and we should head back down." I finished with a shrug. If the fairy herself said there was nothing to do here, then there was nothing to do here! "Lead the way, miss."
//Exit.... The the mountain mines!
