Do you play video games? If you do, what aspect of them do you find most enjoyable?

I'll start us off: I enjoy playing games of different genres with different purposes in mind, but the most enjoyable aspect of games for me is the ability to create my own character and live through that narrative. It allows me to full immerse in the game and in turn I tend to turn a blind eye to games with... issues (I'm looking at you, White Knight Chronicles. B| )

That's when I'm playing by myself. I also thoroughly enjoy games that have some of co-op mode, especially if they're seamlessly integrated into the story (games like entries in the Tales series, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, and Samurai Warriors.) Going through a narrative is great, but for me, I do like the idea of me and a friend vs. the world.

Lastly, and this is a bit of controversial topic in the gaming industry, I do enjoy some amount of competitive gaming. Online gamers tend to be rather rude, especially those in sports games, but there is a kind of internal reward that comes from beating another player with your favorite character/team, regardless of whether or not they're "top-tier".

Blood and gore and weapons, oh my ~

No, not those lame futuristic shooting games on some weird planet,
Or those overated war games where you die in 2 shots.

I'm talking about zombies here. Left 4 Dead, kthxbai.

SOUNDS LIKE A WITCH! FLASHLIGHTS OFF!

Disclaimer: I don't own an XBOX :U I used to play it at my friends, with or without his permission ouo

I love to play videogames though I am not badass at them. I like the feeling of accomplishment and I dunno, like books sometimes I imagine myself in that situation. In WoW, I love the Blood Elf outfits and I wish I could wear one and be a awesome kickass blood elf of sexy win. sweatdrop

I do play video games, a lot actually.
While my original interest was set in first person shooter games, such as Bioshock, or Halo, I can't always play them.

I'm actually more into RTS (real time strategy)games, including Star Craft, Halo Wars, and others. The muiltiplayer in such games is normally amazing, and while games like, Red Alert 3, and all the Command & Conquer games have wonderful plot lines to add to RTS gameplay, they tend to become boring, and Skirmish is really my favorite.

I also take interest in life style games, such as the Sims, Harvest Moon, and others of the sorts, though they become a bit dull after a point, if they have a good base, like the Sims, playing them isn't too bad. I don't like pet raising games though, and you couldn't beg me to play animal crossing again.

I also like the Oddworld games, for some odd reason, even though a majority of the time the main characters are practically defenseless and need friends.
And RPG's top my list, I love being able to customize my character, and pick my own plot line, though it disappointments me I always have to be the good guy, Oblivion has to top my charts as an awesome RPG, even if I have beaten all the main quest lines really easily by purchasing a few spells and not having to fight anything. But some RPG games like FFXIII I can't stand.

I agree L4D2 is an epic game, in fact, zombie games are a favorite, since they utilize other weapons, it's one of the reasons I like bioshock. Not to mention I'm twisted so I just like killing tons of things.

Assassian's Creed 1 & 2 are still my favorites. I must have beaten the first one twenty times, the second at least six.

I use to love video games, I don't really enjoy them as much any more, my xbox live ran out and after a week I got a 1 month trial and didn't enjoy it, I use to play gamebattles modern warfare 2, fifa 10 and halo 3, did pretty good (top 20 MLG singles and team) on halo 3 and (top 20 team) MW2 but I kicked a** on fifa 10 (highest 3rd).

I guess I got bored, I still play offline now and again on dragon ball raging blast and fifa 10 but not often.

Aye.

To be honest, a game is MUCH more fun if I can customize my character.
The more I can customize it, the more I'll enjoy it.
Even if it has bad graphics.

Of course, It's not like customizing characters will make them my favourite game, as my favourite game is the Legend of Zelda series, which has little to no customization. (some of the games allow you to switch tunics/clothes, which is why I say "little to no")

Followed by Phantasy Star Online, which has decent, but not impressive, character customization, and then the Tales of series, specifically the Symphonia one's. (More so 2 than one nowadays, since I find Marta to be far more appealing as a female lead than Collette/whatever.)
Of course, Symphonia also has mild customization, but it requires certain events or actions, and in some cases, can only occur at one exact time in the game, and requires you to beat the game several times to get the whole set for every character.
Which is unfortunate...

But generally, I like customization.
If customization is present, I change my appearance often... provided you can change your appearance more than once.
Generally as often as I can, unless the customization affects my stats, in which case I suck it up and wear the hideous armour with the better benefits...

As for a genre...
Probably RPG and Adventure games.
Though I'm eclectic, so they can be almost any sort of game.
Zelda's a semi-medieval sort of adventure game, while PSO is a futuristic RPG.

Side note: Though final fantasy games are RPG games, the only ones I actually like to play are the Crystal Chronicles series.
The others I find tedious and boring.
It's worth mentioning that Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles: Echoes of Time has awesome character customization in that ALL armour affects the appearance of the character, unlike many of the other FF games in which no matter what armour you wear, you look the same.
