"Oh, no. I wouldn't want to bother her." Galatea shook her head fiercely at the idea. "I can do it myself. I'm sure of it. If she gives me the materials."

Looking down at her feet, the blood feien wiggled her toes against the rough bark. She was buying time while she made up her mind. Finally, she tangled her hands together in front of her and raised her head once more. Carefully, she ran her intent gaze over his face. "Mr. Hadrian?" she asked quietly. "May I visit you and see your house some day?"

He didn't appear to have to spend the same amount of time considering it that she did. In fact it didn't seem to require any deliberating it all.
"Sure." He smiled brilliantly. "Whenever you like."

His house was something that, like his magic, he was especially proud of. And he was excited by the idea that she might share his enthusiasm for making things.

Relief lit her small face and Galatea could not seem to resist giving him another one of her curious little bows as she smiled. "Thank you, oh, so much." If Galatea ever bubbled, then this was what it sounded like and the smile was freer than anything she had offered throughout the conversation. "I would like that a lot."

"I'd like it to." Hadrian smiled in reply to Galatea's own smile.
"I just put up curtains." He said, cheerfully gaining momentum as his enthusiasm grew, "They're nice. Simon gave me the idea...he's doing things with fabric, and I hadn't even thought about curtains until he started telling me about what he'd been doing with clothe and things!"

"Simon," she repeated. "I haven't met him but... I think I would like to some day. If he taught you things, then he must be very clever and... I would like to see your curtains, too. Do you live near headquarters? I know my way there easily." She caught herself up short and sheepishly smiled. "I would, of course, ask permission before coming to your home."

"You already did." He pointed out, grinning. "Its not that near headquarters...its on the other side of town, just on the edge of town with a big garden."
He paused, and seemed to realise that these weren't very helpful directions, "I could draw you a map, I think." He said with a small air of apology.
"And I think you would like Simon. He's brilliant! Much smarter then I am." Although Hadrian thought that Simon, too, had seemed a bit shy. In fact he wondered if Galatea and Simon weren't awefully similar, at least in personality. His impression of them certainly was.

For the moment, the blood feien let the information on Simon pass without comment but she tucked it away and thought she might ask Hadrian about it later. Her new acquaintance certainly seemed to know a lot of things and people. "I think a map would be very helpful, yes." Then, carefully, she added, "I live very near headquarters with the Captain. If you wish, I don't think she would mind you visiting me as well. Though I don't have anything interesting to show you. Not yet."

"I bet you'll come up with something interest pretty soon." Hadrian said confidently. He realised just then that he didn't have anything to draw with...or on...with him.
"If I drew it on the ground, do you think you could remember it? A map I mean. Or...should I just show you the way to get there the first time? I don't have any paper with me." He admitted sheepishly, feeling a little silly for offering a map he couldn't make.

"If you draw it, I will remember." Sounding far more confident than he had ever heard her, Galatea nodded and then pushed off the log, taking to the air. "I have a very good memory," she explained. "The dirt down below should be soft enough, I think." Then, without another word, she disappeared from view, drifting over the other side of the log towards the ground.

Hadrian blinked, "Alright." He spent a bit searching for a stick to draw with, so that by the time he caught up with her she was already settled waiting for him.
He cleared a bit of ground and started with the 'shop', describing as he went in case the image wasn't clear.
"This is the 'headquarters'...and here's the street outside..."
He was actually pretty good at it - his houses looked like house shapes and everything. Not the best artist ever, but clear enough. It turned out that his home was indeed quite on the other side of town from the headquarters building, on the outskirts of things. It needed to be a bit out of the thick of town, if Hadrian's generous circle that represented its 'garden' was anything like to scale.

She was crouched near him, eyes watching intently the entire time he worked. Sometimes she reached out to touch a square as if cementing it in her mind. Then she would draw her hand back and focus once more, her eyes and ears practically handed over in ownership to Hadrian while he explained the way to his home. As he wound down his directions, she finally looked up at him and smiled. "I see. It will take me a while but I can make it."

"Great." He set the stick aside and examined his map for a moment, before looking up and returning her smile.

"You can come by anytime, but I might not be there. If I'm not, someone at my bonds house will be around to let you in, if you want."

She nodded as she stood, fussily brushing off a bit of dirt from her knee. "I will still try and tell you beforehand, though," she replied. "I don't want to be a bother." Pausing, she tilted her head and listened to something in the distance. A faint crashing, branches rustling their leaves, reached them and Galatea immediately offered her hand to Hadrian with another of her shy smiles. "And I believe that is my Captain coming back," she announced. "I should probably return with her. Thank you so much for your kindess. I enjoyed our time very much."

Hadrian accepted her hand, glad he wasn't the only feien that shook hands. "This was fun." He said warmly, "I hope you come by soon!"

"I will try. Thank you again." Grateful, the blood feien squeezed his hand tightly before releasing him and flinging herself upwards, wings flapping to gain her height. There was a brief pause as she listened and then, nimbly, she pointed herself in the direction of the sounds and took off. She was gone in a matter of seconds, the only trace of her presence the dusty little footprints beside Hadrian and, perhaps, the warm press left by her hand.
