Hey folks, fellow Quester/Questor here. Y'all can just call me Dominus.
A little background info about me: Some buddies of mine chipped in and bought me DQ V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride about two years ago. We have this tradition of buying each other somewhat used games but it has to be within a certain theme. That year's theme was JRPGs. Grindy, unforgiving, but with intricate plot-lines and timeless themes.
And holy s**t, they were right. Even though your hero is silent, you get to see his whole life unfold, from childhood to adulthood. You experience his struggles, his enslavement, as well as his happier times such as getting hitched and having kids (I married Nera first time around. Married all three women in each play-through, loved Nera though).
After finishing those play-throughs, I needed more. I couldn't find any copies of DQ IV locally so I downloaded ZSNES and got the English patch of DQ 3. I really dig JRPGs with a class system and this game in particular had a very unique one at the time. Also I love how you can have different gender party members with different personalities (I always have a harem party). Then I got my hands on a used copy of DQ VIII at a yard sale for $5 and that became my second favorite RPG ever.. I fell in love with the soundtrack (all orchestrated too) and the plot!
But yeah, I've been warriorin' for a while and I'll probably never quit doing so. Glad I could find other fans on this website! Also, don't let yourself be guilt-tripped into marrying Bianca. That's my only advice. Also, don't have the jester in your party.

That's one of my personal favorites, though it's second only to VIII in my list of favorite DQ games. I love V's timeline and how seemingly small events take on a whole new meaning as they are called back to and repeated throughout the game. Even though it isn't my favorite, I think it resonates with me emotionally more than VIII does. I will admit to marrying Bianca the first time around (twice, actually), and marrying Nera the second time. I still need to marry Deborah in a playthrough. Anyone that can heel-drop from space and use a parasol as a shield is okay in my book. Hope you enjoy things here. It has unfortunately been a tad vacant here lately, but feel free to post and more folks will come when they're all less busy.

Somehow this slipped past me. XD
But anyways, great to have you here Dominus. Another fellow Dragon Questor is always welcomed. I actually haven't had a chance to check out DQ V myself. But I know that Tiki really adores that game. I should give it a whirl sometime.
Although, I have played a good chunk of VIII. And yeah, it's indeed a wonderful game for what I've played of it. Anyways, I hope you enjoy yourself around the guild and stuff. Though, it's been kinda slow for quite some time...
