Wouldn't drinking only RO water leave you deficient? It's one of the processes we use in salt water aquariums that basically removes EVERYTHING including the minerals that living things need. The salt mixes then re-add the necessary ones as well as salt. Doesn't sound like a good plan for living.

As for vitamin water, there's no reason not to get one every once in a while. I only drink water, tea, and coffee, but every now and then I will have a soda, like for a special occasion or if I'm sad and I want to treat myself. I do love root beer, though I prefer water or tea over everything.

I've actually never heard of that.
I always figured they added minerals to it "Just cause".
So I guess tap filters would be the best choice, even though they don't remove fluoride.

^^ There ARE purifiers that can remove fluoride, but they cost an arm and a leg. :/

Yeah, the minerals are because the RO water is stripped of everything. Which of course it has to be because of all of the chemicals and everything that's in tapwater. I love it when being a fish geek helps in everyday life =P

I went through a phase where I drank those alot. Not so much for its "benefits" but because they aren't so sugary to the point where I OD. Its the perfect amount of sweetness for me and i would buy these while my friends bought their pop. Still not the best to drink, but I suppose compared to other drinks it certainly isn't the worst.

I don't believe so. I am pretty sure that the food you eat would make up nutrients and minerals you are losing from filtering your water.
