It is very Rare for someone to remember their past life while they were alive,yet Raika is one of the few who do. Many consider it lucky to remember your life but not Raika. He only wanted to forget all that he left behind. He Remembers his abusive father hurting his mother and his younger sister. He was the lucky one who was never directly attacked by his father. He saw his father beat his mother and sister and he couldn't do anything to save them. His mother however decided to take her daughter and run away. They were safe at long last but Raika could not follow them. He remained around his house in the world of the living feeling that he could still do something. Twenty years had passed after he died. A new family was living in his home, he didn't know where his family left to, and he couldn't bring himself to leave. The process of Hollowfying began to take effect slowly on him. A mask started to form over his face and a hole over his heart.
Weeks later he was a fully developed Hollow only different. He still looked human only with a mask. He didnt lust after the souls of others He only lusted one soul. His fathers. He raced to his fathers location searching all over for him. The day finally came when he found his father. An old man by this point living in a nursing home. He could not walk, let alone fight a hollow. He was readying himself to attack when suddenly an arm appeared in front of him. The man standing there was Toshiro Hitsugaya. Raika's blackened eyes narrowed as he swung his arm to attack Toshiro, dodging the attack Toshiro refused to attack.
"You have hollowfied yet you still hold onto your humanity. Let me help you. I will guide you to the Soul society."
Raika hesitated for a moment understanding what he was to do. He wanted to kill his father yet he knew he wouldnt get any satisfaction. His mask suddenly just vanished as he turned to Toshiro Agreeing to go with him.
Once he was in soul society he made his way to the Rukon district. He made it to an area known as Zaraki. The most dangerous area where he fought for his life everyday. He lived alone for the most part only being visited by a soul reaper who found a fascination with Raika. His name was Haru. A man who towered over Raika who was short to begin with. Haru was a tall pale man with short spiky blue hair. He wore a blue coat that matched his hair. Raika never seen his real eyes, they were hidden by a strange pair of sunglasses.
Raika and Haru clicked immediately and got along well. At the time Haru was the captain of the 13th Squad. It was thanks to Haru that Raika joined the Thirteen Court Guard Squads. It took him years but he managed to pass all the classes and graduate. At his graduation ceremony he met a young girl who was shorter then him for once. She had silver hair and blue eyes that caught his attention. Her name was Sayu. He had seen her around before but that day he decided to talk with her. It turned out she was Haru's little sister. It was strange that he managed to find his friends sister. The man who treated him like a brother had a sister. Raika thought this was his chance to protect someone and succeed this time.
It was awkward for a while. He followed Sayu around where ever she went. Most of the time she was aware of it but she amused him. By this time Haru had made a huge achievement. He had become Squad 1 captain after the previous captain left soul society for reasons unknown. With this new power he had, Haru took a gamble and promoted an un seated officer to Squad 5 captain. Raika was finally able to help out the man who helped him and the others. Shortly after he became a captain he selected Sayu to be his Lt. It was her first day on the job where they were assigned on a rescue mission to Huaco Mundo. The Captain of Squad 10 Toshiro Hitsugaya was being attacked by Arrancars. Raika was filled with joy to be able to pay back Toshiro for giving him a chance at life in the soul society. On his way to Huaco Mundo he was attacked by wave after wave of hollows. By the time he reached Hitsugaya it was to late.
Raika fell into a depression after that mission. He isolated himself into his quarters where not even Haru could get in. Once the depression sunk in he started to hear a voice in his head. A voice that he hadn't heard sense he was about to kill his father. His Hollow side was crawling out at his soul trying to act on his hatred. Days passed by. Sayu who was worried about him called Haru for help. Haru walked into Raikas office to cheer him up.
"Raika. Are you in here?"
"Leave me here Haru. Run away! I dont want to be seen!"
"Raika. You cant let the sadness take you. You need to get a grip."
"Hes back Haru. That voice I told you about. Hes back and he wont leave me alone!"
Haru was shocked to see a hollow mask starting to form on his face. He acted fast and took Raika to a cell where only he and Sayu can see him. This is the time Sayu and Raika started to bond. At first she was scared but she grew to tolerate the hollow growing in Raika.
They worked day and night to undo the damage that was killing Raika. Years went by. They mastered control over the beast but not completely. This will can come loose any time. Raikas fears were thrown out the window. The only things he fears was the days to come and himself. Haru fell ill after a mission to the world of the living and quickly died right in front of Raika.
Say was the one affected the most but Raika was surprisingly strong. He took all the lessons Haru taught him to keep control and to control his squad. Raika took it upon himself to take his former teachers position and take control of Squad 1. He brought Sayu with him and even adapted his wardrobe to look like Haru's. He even took Haru's Zanpakuto. It was weird that it didnt vanish with Haru but he kept it for his friend and wears it on his waste. His soul was still tortured and he felt like he was burning yet he put up with it and became a real leader. He can still feel the hollow to tormented his life inside him and still fears that it will break loose to attack those he cant bring himself to hurt. If it wasnt for Sayu then that Hollow would have already killed. Sayu is the only one left who knows about his problems...But for how long?
