Rock was restless.

The young pup felt as though there was nothing ever interesting to do in his home, with his family. His mother was busy being distraught, his father busy helping his sister Kona with her wounds, Jani was just nutso, and the rest of the pups kind of just got lost in the frey, for all Rock knew. The pink and sand-colored pup's brows furrowed as he sat, stock-still, in the sprinkling of rain that fell on his now frazzled head.

So alright, he would have to make his own adventure, make his own fun. He looked over his shoulder towards the den he more often than not didn't sleep in. They would be pre-occupied with other things, so he slipped away without them. He imagined them curled neatly with each other. Jani probably off to the side, out of the group. They would be warm together, safe from the drizzling rain that tapped his nose occasionally.

Rock made his way towards the border line again, hoping to sneak off and find something or someone interesting to play with. His new prize - a wooden mushroom on a leather strap - hung, swinging happily against his chest. As he made his way out, the rain seemed to only get worse gradually. As he moved, he realized that this was the first time since Kona's accident that it had rained at all.

User ImageTrotting through the mud Draka glanced around, she knew this area she had been searching for so long to find her home. She had heard of her brothers plans but she can’t seem to muster up the energy to remember what happen, to either of her boys. Pushing the thoughts away Draka could feel her emotions start to stir up with the horrid memories, she just wanted to be home again to be with Sam. So long, she missed Sam… She missed her brother, she just missed everything.

Glancing about Draka seem to recognize the area, everything was coming back to her. The days of old, the days of happiest and wonder before the attack before her brother went nuts. Draka realized she had to be more stern now, most understanding and willing to fix things even knowing the things Vorak had experienced were odd ones she should have done her best to make her brother and Sam make up. Everything could be good again.

Breaking through the tree line Draka came across the small pup, he wasn’t part of the lands before? How long had she been gone? It couldn’t have been that long… “Excuse me sweety…” Should she be frightening, or should she be the motherly figure she’s always wanted to be?

Rock stiffened before backing up, surprised by the sudden arrival of the much larger wolf on scene. She seemed friendly enough, but also seemed slightly lost. Was she a packmate that he had yet to meet? What was she doing on the pack's lands if she wasn't? He hadn't crossed the river yet, he was still home, and now so was she.

"Hello, miss." he answered her finally. He wondered if he should introduce herself, or run. His family hadn't exactly discussed stranger danger, but he had his own instincts intact, that was for sure. "Are you... " he paused, struggling to find the right words without being too offensive towards the female. He didn't want to out right follow his first two words with 'supposed to be here', but he didn't know what else he could say.

"My name is Rock, son of Jono, grandson of Hannah." he recited, hoping to spark some familiarity in the wolf before him. Little did he realize he was in the presence of Draka, daughter of Maim, granddaughter of Elayi. They shared a great grandmother. Loki.

Nodding Draka inched a little closer to the pup as he spoke, his markings made her head ping like she should know who he is where he came from. He could be part of the South Seaside pack, had she been gone that long? It couldn’t be she didn’t remember being gone that long surely this pup must- What did he just say? Son of Jono, her uncle? Jono found a mate? And had pups already!

She must have been gone a longer time then she thought, this didn’t make any sense though. But it didn’t matter her family was thriving this should be a happy time he still seemed so small. “Rock?” Such a… Such an odd name for the boy but she seem to understand it, it somehow matched him. Smiling Draka inched closer, “I am Draka, daughter of Maim, granddaughter of Elayi.” It was nice to see pups, to see the lands live with happiness… She couldn’t wait to see her brother, had he found a mate?

Suddenly Draka frowned, if this much time had passed did Sam find a new mate? The very thought made Draka shake with fear, fear that her love wouldn’t return to her… That things wouldn’t be normal again.

The pup's eyes instantly brightened at the introduction he was given. "Our grandparents are sisters!" he confirmed, his tail wriggling with happiness. He felt strange, as though he shouldn't be here talking to this wolf, but realized that he hadn't eaten a mushroom today. This simply wasn't his nature being sober, and it was an odd feeling to accept.

"How come I've never met you?" he asked suddenly, wondering where she had come from. "Are you of South Seaside or..." he paused a moment to recall the name of the other pack, the one with the fabulous glowing mushrooms in the caves. "Or Hollow Earth?" he finally spit it out, finally remembered.

He waited patiently for her answer, and noted that she looked a bit downtrodden, both in spirit and in body. If it hadn't been for Jani's destruction, Rock would have offered to give Draka a mushroom when he found more, but now he was frightfully aware of the bad effects the little fungi could have on wolves. He knew he was blessed to be given such a gift from them, and for now, had decided to keep them to himself entirely - for the good of every wolf he knew.

Perking up at the mention of both packs Draka was happy to hear that both were still alive and kicking, if so much time had passed that there could have been any number of attacks Draka should have been there for. Pushing those thoughts away Draka stood in all her glory, “I am an alpha of Hollow Earth.” Smiling Draka could feel a thought creeping it’s way to her, ‘But if Sam has taken another… I am nothing…’

Simply ignoring the thought Draka smiled softening towards the pup, she always had a weakness for the young and it was a great way to keep her mind off of what might have happened. “But I have the heart of a South Seasider.” Draka felt she was born and raised to be a mother, protector and fighter all in one, even if Sam had taken a mate Draka deserved that spot.

But she knew in heart she wouldn’t be able to simply over throw Sam’s choice, she had been gone a long time. ‘No! Stop this nonsense, you are switching from emotions too quickly be happy you are finally home and both packs thrive right before your eyes.’ “I have a mission for you Rock, if you choose to accept it.” Her tone softened into that of a mockery powerful one, “You must escort me back to my pack.” Surely at this age he knows how to go back and forth, Loki would have seen to that herself.

Rock smiled, wagging his tail even harder now. The alpha's mate! He had found the best thing ever for Sam; now he would SURELY be allowed back in the caves to commune with the glowing mushrooms! This was the best day ever. She had been missing for a long time, and even though the small pup didn't know the events surrounding the disappearance, he was happy to have found her, and now he could take her back to her home!

He blushed a bit, his cheeks heating up, as she said that she had the heart of his pack. He knew how she felt, a kindred spirit at last. The pup took a chance and wriggled, on his belly, towards the adult, snuggling up to her forepaws, which were so much bigger than his that he was amazed. His wooden mushroom slid gently across the sandy ground, dragged along by the chain he wore it on around his neck. He wished this wolf had been his mother, momentarily.

He looked up at her, a twinkle in his eye, as she spoke to him again. A mission! For the alpha!? Woooow. "I accept!! I'll get you there nice and safe!" he insisted, hopping to his paws. This was turning out to have been the most opportune day to keep sober and give the mushrooms a rest from his consuming them. "This way, miss!" he grinned over his shoulder as he began to head South-East, towards the tree-bridge that would take him back into Hollow Earth, and Draka back to her home finally.

Smiling Draka felt happy seeing the sheer joy from this pup of her old homeland pack, she was so happy it was thriving and she had to remember to meet Jono’s mate. Nodding Draka followed the young one, his boyd language was that of a young one and she so missed that young to be so care free and happy in her life so blind to the horrors of growing up. ‘Stop this depressing thought pattern.’ Lightly growling to herself Draka stomped out those emotions.

She wouldn’t let her thought damper her mood, her mate was to see her, her old pack was living free willed and beautifully with young wolves who know of both packs. This was the future Draka wanted to be a part of, something so rich and full of life this is want Draka would demand of her pack. Speaking of her pack Draka wondered of there were new wolves, new pups… ‘By Sam maybe…’ Another growl and a shake of her head Draka forced that thought clear right out of her mind’s eyes.

No way was she going to start thinking about THAT right now. “So young Rock, tell me what has been going on between the packs?” Her voice dipped into a loving caring one, one that wished for knowledge, for the future.

Rock trotted along, keeping a pace so that Draka wouldn't have to walk more slowly than a normal gait. He realized the relation between his small short legs and her grown legs, and did his best to keep them both comfortable. "You weren't too far off from home." he panted happily, his necklace swaying back and forth in a gentle mesmerizing manner. As they grew closer to the other pack's land, and he could see the tree bridge, he noted that the fluffy comforting grass was beginning to encroach on this side, this pack. This was an interesting discovery, but one that he would need to ponder later, after he had visited the mushrooms.

"Well." he began, thinking of all the things he could share with this alpha, who by all intents and purposes as they crossed the tree bridge, was now his alpha. He had to obey her whether they were on her lands, or his own, but now especially as the grass tickled his small toes, welcoming them into the Hollow Earth's land with playful joy. "Samhain and Loki came together and decreed that either pack's members were always welcome on the other alpha's lands. I came to visit here a few suns ago and Sam was gone, but there was a new female, and she was sort of mean and bossy." his brows furrowed now as he turned to Draka and sat in the long grass. "She made me leave the packlands, she took me back to this bridge and made me scoot back home." he almost looked as though he was pouting now.

"But you'll fix her good." he brightened instantly. "Now that Sam is home, and you are too!" the little pup had been afraid to go to Sam by himself, unsure of what role this new purple female played in his life, and the life of the pack. "You can help me get my permission back?" he asked, hoping that it hadn't been taken away from him for good. He loved the ability to live or visit in two packs, and to get away from his siblings, who obviously didn't realize this wonderful treasure trove of cave systems, right next door to them.

The pup once again snuck forward and nuzzled her forelegs, flopping onto his back to bask in what sunlight was left. "You probably wanna get home as soon as possible right?" he yawned.

Smiling Draka trotted happily with the pup not wanting to rush the little guy, he was so much like a pup she wanted to have. She would have to remember to talk with Sam about pups, they would need to start right away if their pack is depleting and Draka wouldn’t have a problem with having pups with Sam… She loved him whole heartedly, with every fiber of her being she felt as if she was made for the male and he for her. Her smile brightened and her step lightened as the pup furthered his explanations of what was now happening between the packs.

Suddenly Draka felt the blood rush from her body, she stopped in a dead walk towards her old home… A new female? Was she replaced so easily? Bossy? Sam wasn’t into bossy… Or was he now? Had it been too long and he replaced her, was she no longer the Alpha of these lands? She made this little pup leave his own pack cousin’s land? Draka could feel a growl grow from the pit of her stomach to escape, “New female?” She felt and looked angry but she forced her tone to be loving and caring, there was no need to take it out on the pup for… for Sam’s mistake. And oh will she be reminding him every day for the rest of his life that what he has done IS a mistake.

‘New female my a**.’ Tortting off towards her pack again Draka let loose a growl back towards the pup, “I will get your permission back…” Glancing back towards her pack lands Draka had to hold back a howl, “and punish Sam for messing with the heart of the wrong wolf.” It wasn’t like she was going to kill him, but she would make him realize he loved her! Then she would turn him down….

If her own heart would allow it because even as she was mighty angry at the purple and brown wolf her heart broke at the thought of being replaced.

Rock was tumbled over when the alpha trotted away from him, suddenly seeming angry. He wondered if he had said something to upset her, and instantly worried that she was mad at him. He didn't know everything that was going on, and may have gotten something confused. He didn't want her to think he was lying, or making up stories. When she inquired about a new female, the pup cringed. Oh dear, oh no, what had he done? "No, it's not-!" he was interrupted further when she stalked away, talking back over her shoulder about his permission to visit the packlands.

He didn't care about that anymore, all he really cared about was harmony within the two packs, and now, by case of misunderstanding, he felt he may have ruined that harmony. "Draka, please..." he huffed as he ran to catch up with her. Her legs were longer, however, and she was gaining ground on him faster than he could catch up. He had made up his mind though to follow her until he could catch her; he had created this mess.

Ignoring his irrational fear of the purple female, Rock followed the alpha across the packlands, even after he could no longer see her form. She knew the ins and outs of the mountain, but so did he now, so when she tripped through the bush, he followed easily, noting her angry scent, and the broken branches of the protective covering to the entrance to the pack's dens. Could he do anything right?

Grumbling to herself Draka’s thoughts circled not being able to stop on a certain point; all she wanted was to yell at Sam… Or Sam in front of him. She didn’t want to be weak, she wanted her strength to make her harden and be able to kill that other wolf. ‘How could he do this to me?’Draka wanted to be sad, she did she wanted to whine and cry and sniff and nib at her own paws but… She wouldn’t allow her that satisfaction until she meets Sam’s mate and defeats her and show Draka who the rightful alpha should be!

She could hear the pup in the background trying to keep up and felt bad for rushing off like she had; slowing down Draka glanced back to make sure the pup was still with her. The pup reminded her of having pups of her own with Sam but now that he had someone else how was she suppose to fill that void? She could talk with Jono about becoming the godmother to this pup he seemed out of the loop and surely Jono wouldn’t mind… Hopefully.

“I’m sorry for rushing off but… “ She was still on edge wanting to rip that bitchs throat out but first thing first was to be the alpha she was born to be, “I really must get back, I will go slower.” And with that Draka took off again, thankfully not as fast as before.

"Waaaaiiiit" he wailed, finding a new quickness in his tired paws. "She's no alpha!" he blurted, hoping to right what he had wrong. Did Draka think that Sam would leave her for another wolf so easily? Sam was still moping around, unsure of how to take his next breaths, as far as Rock knew. Rock had no idea if this new purple female was supposed to be Sam's mate or not, but she hadn't said as much, or attested to being the new alpha. Rock had no idea, but he knew he didn't want Draka to be so angry.

"Please don't leave me, I don't want to go back home." he cried, his final plea. He hoped that would stop her, but it was also rife with truth. There was so much sadness and disarray at home with his family, he wanted to be with nicer wolves, well adjusted wolves. He hopped along, bounding towards the adult, hoping like hell she would stop and talk to him a minute, so that they could both cool off and figure out what was going on together.

Draka winced at the sounds of the pup, she really should have better control of her emotions but this was her future her mate! The love of her life that was messing with her heart strings and she wouldn’t stand for that one bit not in this life time, she was an alpha goddamnit she deserved to have a chance at happiness with her mate ruling over their lands! Glancing back Draka frowned before rushing back the rest of the distance to her former pack den.

After this she would do her very best to make it up to Rock, she had to remember to talk with Jono about asking for the godmother position.

Rock gave up, slumping to the ground to watch Draka once again disappear from his field of vision. She would just have to go to Sam and find out for herself what was going on, if she wouldn't listen to Rock. He felt like a cad over having said that to her, but he had no clue the workings of adult emotions. He barely had a grasp on his own puppy feelings. He sniffled a bit, wondering what real damage he had caused, and what would come of things in the long run. He hoped that Draka's reunion with Sam would turn out to be a happy one, and they could all be happy together again.

The pup stood finally, after a long time contemplating. He was going home, and he hoped no one spoke to him as he curled into the family pile to sleep. He didn't have the heart for it right now, and really didn't want to have to snap at one of his siblings, or worse, his mother or father. As he slumped home, the pup thought about what he had said very much earlier in the day to Draka. He wished she was his mother.
