What is the Encyclopedia Bartonica?

The Encyclopedia Bartonica is a dream of mine that may or may not come to fruitation depending upon you. It is an open reference for anyone who has a question about roleplaying. A source of knowledge for anyone who wants to look up a term or would like to know more about an item of fantasy. In short, the Encyclopedia Bartonica is an index of internet roleplaying, and everything that makes it what it is.

Can I contribute an article?

Yes, because you are going to be filling the pages of this index. This is a guide for everyone, and it should be written by everyone. Contributions are not only welcome, they are required if this index is going to succeed. Roleplaying is a look at how everyone together creates a world of fantasy and how their characters dwell within it, without your help and contributions, the Encyclopedia Bartonica will be a far cry from the world that everyone, together, has imagined.

I have a question, is it okay to make a thread to ask it?

In the future, I hope to have most questions answered by the articles and, if needed, a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) thread. However, if you need to ask something, feel free to post a thread for that purpose. Hopefully this forum will soon be filled with threads for questions and discussion, and if you have an unanswered question, please include "[Q]" in the title of the thread. Once your question has been answered, please edit this out so that we can address the unanswered questions more quickly. biggrin (If your question has been answered, but the [Q] remains for too long, I'll edit it away, myself.)

What are with all the subforums?

These are events. Large roleplaying events that are open to everyone in Gaia to participate in... the closest thing that you're going to get to an MMORPG in forum roleplaying. These events are mainstream, and as such, they are not only great opportunities for your mainstream characters to meet up with others, but they provide that long-lost sense of unity when hundreds of characters in Gaia can have a common experience and something to relate to in their character history.
